Corporate Partners Programme Lead Jobs in London, Greater London
Gingerbread exists to fight for the nearly 2 million single parents in England and Wales and their children. With roots stretching back over 100 years, we have a long history of highly effective campaigning that has redefined the regard in which single parents are held, and a track record of delivering well-respected single-parent focused services. We are working to achieve our vision of a world in which all single parents and their children thrive.
But against the backdrop of the cost-of-living crisis, too many single parents are currently battling to feed their families and pay their bills each month. That is why the work that we do is as important now as it ever was, and so last year we launched a new strategy that works to deliver support for today and change for tomorrow. Over the coming years, we will seek to grow our income and reach, taking a systems-change approach to discrimination and attitudes and a programmatic approach to delivering our services and campaigns.
The landscape over the coming years will continue to be challenging for so many charities like ours. With less funding available and higher costs of delivery, we must ensure that we remain agile and resilient for the future so that we can respond to opportunities as they arise. We are looking for a skilled Head of Finance & Resources to join us on a 6–9-month contract basis to help drive improvements across our finance, HR and IT functions, delivering efficiencies and smarter ways of working through better use of systems, more integrated budgeting processes and robust controls.
Our Head of Finance & Resources is a key member of our senior management team (SMT), and you will be working closely with the CEO, Board and wider SMT on all financial matters as we look to deliver against our strategy and grow our fundraising presence. The role will require a high degree of internal management and empathetic leadership style to ensure you bring your team with you through during the period of change.
We are looking for an experienced leader and qualified accountant with exceptional strategic and operational finance skills gained in the charity sector, including knowledge of supporting fundraising strategies. You will have good project management skills and experience of leading change management or continuous improvement programmes. You will also have a collaborative and selfless style, with the ability to inspire those around you and instil confidence at all levels.
Tall Roots is acting as an employment agency partner to Gingerbread. If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact Tall Roots.

We are not looking for just one type of person - we want to recruit people who can add fresh perspectives, innovative ideas or challenge that disrupts the risk of group think.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to coordinate an 18-month project exploring how we can operationalise a new in-work poverty benchmark for employers in London. The in-work poverty benchmark project is a new and exciting pilot project at the Living Wage Foundation. We want this person to build a case for employers going further than our existing accreditations and taking a more holistic approach to tackling in work poverty. - The cross organisational Making London a Living Wage City (MLLWC) team to build upon the successes and networks of this project and align where helpful to encourage London employers to go further
- London based community organisers to ensure that the experiences and stories of low paid workers are a primary driver of the case for change and how we develop this work.
The ideal candidate would be a proactive and experienced project manager with experience of building and implementing new products, projects or services. They should have excellent communication skills and a track record of engaging diverse stakeholders and building a network.
Living Wage Foundation
The Living Wage Foundation was launched in 2011 by Citizens UK to tackle in-work poverty and ensure that workers earn enough to live on and participate in family and community life. Citizens UK is the home of community organising with diverse civil society alliances set up to develop leaders to work on the issues that matter to them, such as the Living Wage. Other projects include Parent Action and Sponsor Refugees to add depth to the impact of Citizens UK’s work.
The Living Wage is a movement of businesses, organisations and people who believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. The real Living Wage is an independently-calculated hourly rate based on the cost of living and announced each October ahead of Living Wage Week, our annual celebration of a growing network of over 15,000 Living Wage Employers.
The Living Wage Foundation celebrates employers that voluntarily choose to pay the real Living Wage through an accreditation scheme that recognises a long-term commitment to fair pay and has secured pay rises for 475,000 low paid workers. Over recent years, the Living Wage Foundation has built on the success of the real Living Wage by creating new responsible employment standards – Living Hours and Living Pension – for those employers who want to go further and provide the security workers need now and in the future.

Application Procedure
At Citizens UK, we use Applied, an applicant-tracking recruitment system. Applied aims to overcome unconscious bias in recruiting. Often the Hiring Team will not see your CV as part of the shortlisting process and instead ask questions to test skills needed for the role. The responses are anonymised and reviewed by the panel. The Applied platform also asks some demographic questions before you start your application. Citizens UK cannot see individual demographic responses, only summary statistics to monitor our candidate pool for balance. Applied aims to give an equal chance to be hired irrespective of background. Candidates can opt out of answering the demographic questions.
We are committed to being an inclusive employer. In line with our inclusion value, we would love to see applications from LGBTQIA+ people, people from racialised communities, disabled people, and people of faith to better represent the communities we work in. We also strongly welcome applications from people who have lived experience of low pay and poverty. For questions and reasonable adjustments regarding your application, including information in a different format, or our recruitment process, please contact us.
Many of our employees enjoy flexible and hybrid working, and we are open to adapting/flexing our roles to embrace a diverse workforce. If you are interested in a particular vacancy and wish to discuss flexible working, please contact us.
Even if you don’t quite meet all the required criteria still consider applying, as we invest in our employees and support them to develop the skills and knowledge required to deliver their role.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK as Citizens UK is unable to sponsor visa applications. Our community organisers work in the community and their employment is subject to satisfactory standard/enhanced DBS checks.

Our Vision
Our vision is simple; we want a vegan world. A world without animal farms and slaughterhouses. A world where food production does not decimate forests, pollute rivers and oceans, exacerbate climate change, and drive wild animal populations to extinction.
Our Values
Impact: we are committed to a vegan world; we will utilise research to evaluate how the highest number of lives can be spared and direct resources to that end.
Empowerment: we will optimise our outreach to support and encourage people on their vegan journey in a non-judgemental, positive, constructive and easily accessible way.
Collaboration: by partnering with other mission-driven organisations and working closely with corporates, we will make a bigger difference.
Diversity and inclusion: we know that it takes people with different ideas, strengths, interests and backgrounds to achieve our vision; we appreciate the value of this and how it brings us closer to achieving our mission.
Respect and integrity: in all internal and external relationships, we will strive for genuine, honest, and transparent communication.
Resilience: we will continue to create a professional and sustainable (human, social, economic and environmental) organisation.
Application Process
If you’d like to be part of our amazing team and organisation, please send us your CV and tell us why in the form of a cover letter of no more than 1000 words that answers the following:
- Why do you want to work for Veganuary?
- Why this role particularly?
- What will you bring to our charity?
Without a cover letter your application will not be considered, so please ensure you submit this! Our team are all aligned to our mission so we want to hear from you, and the cover letter gives us the opportunity to do so. The questions above are chosen specifically to help us understand more about your motivation for this role, rather than your work experience which we can understand from your CV, so please ensure you answer them within your cover letter.
This job advert will close at 9am BST on Monday 21st October 2024. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis and may close the vacancy early. Therefore, early application is advised. Applicants who have applied for this role within the last few months need not reapply.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are high on the agenda for Veganuary. We recognise that certain groups in our industry are under-represented and are working hard to combat the lack of representation. Therefore, reasonable adjustments can be made to allow any who require additional assistance to apply for this role. Please email our friendly HR team if you require such assistance.
We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons, regardless of their ethnicity, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marriage and civil partnership status, or age.
Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process normally takes around 3 weeks and usually consists of 4 stages as follows:
1. A job specific pre interview task (to be completed between 21st – 24th October 2024)
We’re lucky enough to receive many amazing applications for our roles and it’s sometimes difficult to select a small number of people to interview. By having a pre interview task, it allows us to learn more about our shortlisted candidates than a CV and cover letter can tell us.
2. A first interview with the hiring manager and one other team member (Interviews will take place on 5th November 2024)
This is always competency based and job aligned so there isn’t anything for you to prepare.
3. A timed trial task (to be completed between 6th – 8th November)
You will be given a job specific task to be completed with a short window of time at a time agreed with our HR team.
4. A follow up second interview with the hiring manager and one other team member (Interviews will take place on the 11th November 2024)
This final stage allow the team to ask any follow up questions or explore areas that they have reflected on since the first interview. There isn’t usually anything to prepare.
We look forward to receiving your application.
Thank you for your interest in Veganuary!
Veganuary is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to creating an inclusive work culture that reflects and celebrates our diverse world. We therefore welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons, regardless of their ethnicity, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marriage and civil partnership status, or age. We also recognise that certain groups in our industry are under-represented – we welcome applications from all who meet the role’s requirements and are making efforts to attract a diverse pool of candidates to combat the lack of representation.
