We have an ambitious growth plan, and we’re seeking a proactive, innovative Deputy CEO to maintain and develop our successful mentoring and peer support programmes.  We’ve made incredible progress in both programme scale and quality: Over the last five years our income has grown five-fold, our reach in mentoring has increased to more than ten times what it was five years ago, while our team has grown from 1.6 to 15 staff in that time.  With nearly 60% of our income secured in multi-year grants, we’re in the process of developing our strategy for the next five years, envisaging continued growth, maintaining quality and impact while adding a social justice dimension to our role. 

The Role

As our Deputy CEO, you'll support the development and implementation of Unfold’s organisational strategy and be responsible for the delivery of programme, funding and impact strategies. 

You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the future of Unfold by supporting the development and implementation of Unfold’s organisational strategy and taking ownership of the delivery of our programmes, funding and impact strategies. Alongside the CEO, you'll play a key role in ensuring ensuring that we continue to deliver high-quality services that make a real difference and create impact, reaching those who need them most.

Supporting the CEO, you'll also ensure the financial stability of the charity by maintaining a sustainable funding pipeline and using data to demonstrate the impact of our work. You'll be identifying funding opportunities, overseeing bid submissions, and ensuring quality reporting and compliance. By representing Unfold at events and cultivating relationships with donors, corporate partners and individual supporters you'll ensure a robust and sustainable income to support our growth plans.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Experienced Fundraiser: You have a proven track record in fundraising within the third sector, particularly at a senior level.

Working at Unfold 

Holidays: 25 working days (along with additional Christmas closedown days)

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy Development

• Assist in creating, implementing, and refining a comprehensive fundraising plan.
• Regularly contribute to the development of the organisational fundraising strategy, with a specific focus on individual donors and new fundraising opportunities.
• Stay current with fundraising opportunities and best practices, recommending changes in WECare's funding strategies to ensure continuous improvement and growth.
• Donor Engagement and Relationship Management
• Develop and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and potential supporters.
• Support donor stewardship initiatives for all types of supporters, including individuals, corporate, major, and legacy donations, ensuring ongoing engagement, retention, and growth.
• Work with the Head of Fundraising to develop and implement donor journeys that encourage long-term support from individuals and ensure high-quality ongoing communication with potential and existing donors.
• Ensure all individual donations are processed efficiently and supporters are thanked in a timely manner, maintaining a positive relationship that leads to increased donor retention.

Digital Fundraising

• Assist in driving online fundraising initiatives, including managing crowdfunding efforts and coordinating social media appeals.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure the charity's website is updated with the latest fundraising activities and donation options, maintaining a dynamic and engaging online presence.

Trusts and foundations

• Support the Head of Fundraising with research and identification of grant opportunities relevant to WECare.
• Collaborate in preparing and submitting grant applications to trusts and foundations, including checking monitoring data, proofreading reports, and ensuring timely submission.
• Work with the team to implement corporate fundraising policies, ensuring that WECare can respond appropriately to fundraising approaches by companies.

Community Fundraising and Event Planning

• Collaborate with the Head of Fundraising and the team to create and implement a comprehensive Community Fundraising Strategy.
• Plan, organise, and execute a diverse range of fundraising events, including supporter dinners, challenge events like the Great North Run, charity walks, auctions, and community fairs.
• Expand local support networks in both Sri Lanka and the UK.
• Organise occasional engagement events for supporters, further strengthening relationships and encouraging continued financial support.
• Coordinate with volunteers and staff to ensure seamless event execution and the achievement of fundraising targets.
• Manage and steward Challenge event (Great North Run) fundraisers through the WhatsApp group chat, fostering a supportive and motivated network.
• Work closely with the broader team to develop a Volunteer Fundraising Strategy.

Data Management and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of all fundraising activities, monitor income, and donor information on the charity database.
• Assist in developing and managing the new CRM system, including setting up and integrating a comprehensive database CRM platform and Mailchimp for effective donor communication and management.
• Ensure donor data is meticulously maintained, supporting the use of CRM tools to manage donor relationships effectively, including ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
• Contribute to the refinement and thorough documentation of new digital processes such as the Sponsor a Dog (SPAD) programme, ensuring clear guidelines and streamlined operations across all initiatives.

Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who’s not just passionate about our mission but also brings a can-do attitude and a bit of flair. You should be experienced in fundraising, event planning, and donor management, with a solid understanding of data protection regulations (we like to keep things safe and sound). You’re great with words, can whip up persuasive content in no time, and know your way around a CRM and platforms like Mailchimp.

But more than anything, we’re looking for someone who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, dive into the world of charity work, and make a real difference in the lives of street dogs around the world and the communities that care for them.

Spectra has recently created a new team of three fundraisers (including this post holder). We aim to increase levels of engagement, interest and financial support from trusts and foundations, major donors, and individual giving, including increasing the level of unrestricted funding.

The Fundraising Executive role and purpose is to:

• Develop and implement a ‘small trust’ plan. They will deliver compelling and impactful approaches to trusts and foundations for financial support. Responsible for smaller trust funding applications of under 10K per year.
• Develop a new individual giving programme, set and achieve targets, and provide a high standard of stewardship in these areas of work.
• Cross working to support the ‘Major Trusts and Foundations’ Fundraiser and the Fundraising manager as required.

We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter who can develop this area of fundraising practice and actively contribute to the fundraising team’s ambition of growing and diversifying income, unrestricted income and incorporating a whole team approach.

About the role

As the Senior Youth and Community, you will lead the youth team to create community-based opportunities for the whole family, in accordance with the ethos and values of the organisation. You will also support the wider team to develop and be involved in community cohesion projects involving children, families and youth.

Responsibilities (but not limited to)

*Deliver youth work sessions during half terms, after school, evenings, and residentials.
*Line manage and evaluate sessional youth workers and volunteers.
*Lead three evening sessions weekly, including Fridays.
*Manage a team of youth workers and volunteers.

As a member of the Process and Administration Team (PAT)  at Libraries Connected, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and cohesive administrative support for the organisation. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting new initiatives such as a potential leadership development programme, the development of online learning modules, the creation of a Futures Lab and Data Observatory, and managing tender bids for new commercial contracts. Additionally, you will have broader responsibilities across the organisation, including finance processing, development and maintenance of organisational systems, and the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities beyond your primary role.

Projects and Commercial Administrator will help deliver our portfolio of projects and programmes, the role will specifically include:

• Supporting the development and delivery of our workforce development strategy including:
  • Our EDI strategy for our organisation and library sector
  • A peer mentoring scheme for heads of library service

  • Development of our online learning modules

Libraries Connected has established a Process and Administration Team (PAT) whose role is to ensure that the Libraries Connected staff receive efficient and cohesive administrative support, and that resilience is built into the administrative processes in terms of knowledge sharing, process documentation and consistency. As a member of the Process and Administration team, this role will also have broader responsibilities across the organisation including supporting finance processing, development and maintenance of organisational systems, and the opportunities to work across a range of activities alongside the primary role. 

Main purpose:

• Main activities for the role will include working with the Project and Commercial Managers to:
  • Schedule and organise meetings and events, including venue booking, catering, delegate lists as required
  • To provide technical support for online webinars and meetings
  • Provide secretarial support including managing and circulating meetings papers and taking minutes and updating action logs
  • Support management of project budgets and associated finance systems including raising invoices and reconciliation
  • To support project and contract reporting including collation of relevant data.

About the Role

The Lead Lawyer - Africa Death Penalty Team is responsible for coordinating Reprieve’s litigation and advocacy in Sub-Saharan Africa. At the moment, the team works on death penalty casework and abolition advocacy in Malawi, Tanzania, and Kenya. Our casework includes work on appeals to the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal in the context of historic denials of a right to appeal and related contextual challenges; large-scale projects, such as the Kenya resentencing project, wherein we support stakeholders to ensure 5,000+ people are able to access a chance at reducing their sentence from death via a new sentence hearing, as well as supporting on individual strategic resentencing cases; and long-term regional projects, such as our strategic litigation before the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, which challenges the mandatory death penalty, torture, and other associated violations of the African Charter. This is an opportunity to join a team that has developed ground breaking work with great success in getting people off death row, making significant contribution to legal reforms and towards abolition.

Contract, Location and Salary

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 2 days per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home.

Your presence is important during core office hours, whether remotely or in the office. You will also be available outside of office hours in the event of an emergency, for example case developments that require urgent action. This is a role that may require travel, and work outside of core office hours from time to time.

The annual salary is £50,571 full-time per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Institutional Funding and Partnership Manager:
• To lead on identification of partnerships in the UK, Europe, Asia and North America.
• Lead in the mapping of potential donors and partners.
• Conduct detailed desk research on potential donors and partners.
• Develop seasonal proposals including Ramadan, Winter, Qurbani and whenever there are emergencies.
• Carry out regular field visits to potential donors/partners to explain our expertise and interests.
• Categorise partners based on their structure, expertise, geographical location, and interest.
• Update database by collecting, recording and uploading information of potential partnerships, to the highest degree of accuracy.

Job Title: Partnership Events Lead

Reports to: Partnerships Manager

Purpose: This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on the delivery of interactive activities with volunteers from the world of work aimed at schools and young people for key funded partners.  Alongside event facilitation, the role manages and coordinates delivery of activities to meet agreed KPIs, leading on planning, scheduling and delivering various showcase virtual and face-to-face events and activities.

Remuneration: £27 - £30k per annum depending on experience

Job purpose

Working closely with the Partnership Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the delivery of interactive activities aimed at schools and young people under key funded projects for the charity’s Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes. These programmes leverage technology to raise the aspirations and broaden the horizons of children and young people by connecting them to a huge range of volunteers from the world of work via career related learning activities.

The Partnerships team are responsible for relationship management of the key corporate and charity partners for the charity’s Inspiring the Future and Primary Futures programmes. Partners cover a range of sectors and employment areas and our employer partnerships provide partners employees with the opportunity to engage with schools, and reach many children and young people across the UK, both virtually and in-person.

The Partnership Events Lead will be able to manage and coordinate delivery of activities to meet agreed KPIs, leading on planning, scheduling and delivering various showcase virtual and face-to-face events and activities ensuring engagement from schools, employers and volunteers.

Overseeing event delivery – both physical and virtual, this role will have end to end accountability for event management, from coordinating with the schools and volunteers, event briefings, to planning and delivering the event – speaker selection and liaison, school registrations, co-ordinating event logistics and venue management, on-site and virtual delivery, post event feedback and communications etc.

This role will work on partnerships including but are not limited to the Department for Transport’s Inspiring Aviation Campaign, Maritime UK Ambassadors, NHS Ambassadors and events associated with employer partnerships such as Bank of America, Tritax Big Box, Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust and others.

Exact brief to be finalised with the successful candidate but the role will be expected to:

• Work closely with the Partnership Manager role to lead on planning and delivery of any funded projects and activities

Your role

We are looking for a self-starter who is able to work independently with high level of resilience to lead on CMS’s safeguarding function. You will have experience regarding disclosure and case management of safeguarding and leading a core group. You will work directly with the Director of People and Learning as well as the part-time Strategic Partner Safeguarding Manager on developing safeguarding policies and procedures that will be implemented across the organisation. The post holder’s key responsibilities will be to embed the safeguarding policies and procedures, manage disclosures and casework and deliver training both (UK and internationally).

This role requires experience working in a national and/or international safeguarding role, and experience in an international mission, humanitarian or a transferrable international sector involving different stakeholders, authorities and international strategic partners.

The RAF Charitable Trust is looking for someone with vision and ambition to lead the organisation. The need for our work is clear. Technology and aviation continue to advance at an unprecedented rate. The IET estimates that the skills shortage in STEM jobs costs the UK economy £1.5bn a year, and there are over 173,000 STEM vacancies. The UK Commission for Employment and Skills stated in 2022 that 43 per cent of STEM vacancies were hard to fill due to a shortage of applicants, leaving tech skills in even higher demand. The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Diversity and Inclusion in STEM also notes significant inequality in high skilled and graduate level roles for those from minority and disadvantaged backgrounds. RIAT’s ongoing success enables RAFCT to be increasingly ambitious regarding its impact through the inspiration of young people: 1. By 2026, RAFCT will have delivered high-quality interventions to over 500,000 young people (measured from 2022).

2. From 2026, RAFCT will deliver high-quality interventions to at least 500,000 young people every year.

3. These interventions will either be via:

a. New programmes unique to RAFCT

b. Existing programmes scaled with funding from RAFCT

To achieve this ambition, we are looking for a highly experienced Director to continue the Charity’s trajectory of growth. The successful candidate will work with the RAFCT Chair and Board of Trustees to set, implement, and then assure the delivery of the Trust’s strategy. The Director will lead the Trust’s charity team, and work closely with the Trust’s trading company, RAF Charitable Trust Enterprises Ltd, the RAF, and existing and new delivery partners and charities.

This is a role that requires pragmatism, vision, diplomacy and flexible and creative thinking. The successful candidate will be a strategic and credible leader with strong financial acumen and a successful leadership track record. They will possess an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset, and be able to connect ideas and people. They will have a proven record of collaboration while providing constructive challenge when appropriate, and they will have good experience of measuring impact in a national STEM setting.
