Following its successful relaunch, the Air Cadet Charity is seeking a highly motivated Trust and Major Donor Fundraiser to help it achieve its aims of supporting and developing the young people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Air Cadet Charity, until now, has had to rely on donations but Trustees have decided to expand our income generation streams in order to enable us to do more for each and every Royal Air Force Air cadet. Our activities and projects include supporting flying, adventurous training, drone piloting, participation in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, national sports and national music competitions, BTEC qualifications, STEM development as well as many others. Although the Charity had been around in a different guise for many years this is an opportunity to join a vibrant young charity at the start of its new journey to do more for the young people of our Nation.
The role will focus chiefly on sourcing funding from charitable trusts who share our goal of developing our young people, equipping them with the skills to prosper not only in the present but also for the rest of their lives. Some cadets will join the Royal Air Force, but the majority go on to forge careers in all walks of life thanks to the opportunities provided by the Air Cadets and the Air Cadet Charity. Our policy is to spend all that we earn and to dip into our capital if required. Annual expenditure and income is around £900,000 each year and our aim is to increase this to around £1,500,000 by 2029. The successful applicant will have tried and tested charitable trust fundraising skills such that they contribute the majority of the additional funds required to make this ambition a reality although we recognise that this will not be an overnight goal! In addition, the successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills enabling them to encourage donations from major donors and all who would wish to support the development of our young people.
The role will work directly to the Charity Director, will suit someone who is able to work as the sole fundraiser – although there may be scope to increase our resources as our ambition grows – and not afraid of hard work and added responsibility. It will be primarily working from home with regular contact with the Charity Director and the Trustees responsible for fundraising.
Pitching, presenting and proposal writing should be a strength, that can be evidenced through successful fundraising. Specific knowledge of charitable trust fundraising is essential and wider knowledge of other fundraising specialisms would be advantageous, such as Major Donor and Corporate. We’re looking for a proactive and ambitious team player, able to work from your own initiative.
Key Focus areas
- Expert knowledge of charitable trust fundraising with a track record in designing and securing major gifts through written and/or verbal proposals.
- A track record in securing income from individual donors, Major Donors and Philanthropists including knowledge of legacy fundraising.
- Develop engaging supporter journeys and Legacy pipelines.
- Provide an exceptional experience to our supporters.
- Strong understanding of fundraising principles but most importantly doing the right thing at all times.

Digital Fundraising Officer

This is a remote working role, offering flexible working.

The Role
Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Digital Fundraising Officer will help to maximise income through fundraising appeals, provide beneficiary support and increase supporter retention through digital channels
Key responsibilities will include:
· Plan and implement digital fundraising campaigns
· Ensure content meets brand guidelines
· Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to test and develop new strategies

You will need experience of:
· Implementing, optimising and reporting on paid digital campaigns across Meta and Google.
· Writing great copy and the ability to adopt different tones and writing styles.
· A/B testing, reporting and completing post-campaign analysis.
· Using analytics tools including GA4 and analysing data to inform decision-making.
· Tracking digital campaigns.
This role requires some travel for team away days.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Coordination and Project Delivery
- To work closely with the Director of Strategy and Programmes to coordinate and support the delivery of all our programmes to achieve the outputs and outcomes agreed with our funders.
- To support with event management both online and face to face including providing technical support to participants on platforms for online training, including driving all courses hosted on Zoom, and providing excellent customer service to all engaging with our work.
- To support evaluations through providing and analysing data to use in reporting to funders and stakeholders.
- To lead on programme administration and funder updates, including tracking key data on platforms including Arts Council Annual Survey, Julie’s Bicycle, Illuminate and Salesforce.
- To support with the administration of programme activity by attending and writing minutes for key meetings, drawing up programme contracts, aiding with diary management, filing, liaising with key personnel, and conducting phone or zoom conversations as needed.
- To support with the financial administration of our programmes through invoicing and managing participant expenses.
- To take part in training and attending any networking events as required, including potential out-of-hours events such as our 3-day residentials, to represent Cause4 externally when required.

Marketing and Communications
- To oversee and manage the day-to-day communications of our programmes, including managing our dedicated programme inboxes, liaising with participants, trainers and partners as needed.
- To set-up and publicise key events, projects and training opportunities on all programme websites and relevant platforms, including Eventbrite.
- To support the Programmes team to achieve public-facing training sales targets for our programmes through implementation of the marketing plan.
- To support with communications and marketing by curating social media content (SmarterQueue), programme newsletters (Mailchimp), graphics (Canva), and blogs.
- To support updating the website on a regular basis with support from the web designer and to be a coordinating lead and contributor in writing for key publications such as the digital Now, New and Next publication.
- To research and develop our audiences and networks, in line with our priority areas, regularly updating our databased to ensure key contacts are in place.
- To lead on the analytics of our marketing data, collating vital information from SmarterQueue, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Analytics.
This is a remote (home) working role, with opportunities to meet with the Cause4 team at regular events throughout the year in London, Cambridge, and other locations.
PERSON SPECIFICATION

There are over 60 million working donkeys and mules in the world, but millions are being killed every year for the inhumane donkey skin trade, leading the African Union to announce plans for a moratorium on donkey slaughter and the development of a strategy for working animals across the continent. As Head of Advocacy, you will work in partnership with the Director of Advocacy & Campaigns, the CEO and other Senior Management to deliver the organisational strategy by developing inspiring advocacy plans based on clear strategy, integrated with other departments of the organisation.
Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Director of Advocacy and Campaigns to design and implement an advocacy strategy to effect lasting change for donkeys and mules in line with our organisational aims.
- Building and developing networks of key stakeholders to achieve genuine change and lasting impact on the welfare of donkeys and mules.
- Representing the organisation at key stakeholder engagements, strategic high level forums and in the media, as appropriate.
- Functionally lead advocacy through the creation of a global advocacy strategy that supports teams to deliver high quality and consistent advocacy.
- Working closely with other departments to ensure advocacy integrates with other streams of the sanctuary’s work and ensure the organisation has the support and infrastructure to deliver excellent advocacy outcomes.

The Associate Director of Local Fundraising is a senior role within the Income, Innovation and Engagement directorate; a highly ambitious and professional team which is working to grow income and strengthen the organisation’s voice across the UK as the leading end of life care charity in the UK. Marie Curie has ambitious financial growth targets and needs to drive net contribution, engagement and awareness if they are to achieve their fundraising ambitions and subsequently their service growth goals.
The primary focus of the role is to maximise the net contribution from local fundraising but also to drive community awareness and engagement with Marie Curie. This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.
The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie. With all local relationships managed by this role’s teams, the post will ensure that supporters have a connected, seamless experience.
The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in increasing voluntary income or revenue. They will also have experience in developing both annual operational and three-year strategic plans, developing creative and innovative solutions and digital marketing and in working with working with volunteers and engaging local communities. This will be combined with a proven track record in managing large high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.

THE ROLE
The Grants and Trusts Fundraiser will inspire grant bodies, charitable trusts, and foundations to support our mission. This is a key role in growing our funding to achieve our ambitious 2030 strategy. As part of the Grants and Trusts team, you'll craft and submit high-quality funding bids and projects, working closely with colleagues, partner organisations, and funders. This is a Hybrid working role, where you’ll work part of your time at home with time spent on site and project visits (once a month depending on the project). You will also be expected to attend a team/departmental meeting in Grantham each quarter.

Working closely with the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, the role is responsible for managing the finance function and developing a culture of providing financial help and support across the charity. Responsibilities include day to day management of the finance function, overseeing and motivating a staff team of 5. You will prepare and develop management reporting, including monthly management accounts and restricted fund accounts, ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations, prepare budgets, and manage the year end accounts and audit process including drafting charity SORP financial statements. Other responsibilities include developing strong business partnering with budget holders, developing a costing model to support funding applications, managing payroll and pensions, and ensuring VAT returns are prepared and submitted on time. You will also take the lead on process improvements, where appropriate to ensure efficient and effective running of the finance team and it’s support to the wider organisation.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of managing finance functions within the charity sector, with an excellent understanding of SORP and charity compliance. You will be either fully qualified or qualified by experience and will have demonstrable experience of managing and motivating finance teams effectively and be accomplished at building relationships, driving the team towards more effective business partnering with the wider organisation. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly with both finance and non finance colleagues. You will be a hands on manager with experience of working both operationally and strategically.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of the first international climate NGO specialising in steel decarbonisation, you will work with other SteelWatch team members located across Asia-Pacific, Africa and Europe. The Executive Assistant will be a vital team member, providing critical, executive administrative support to enable the Executive Director and SteelWatch Leadership team to operate effectively. The duties associated with the role will evolve significantly as SteelWatch evolves. The Executive Assistant reports to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
The role is focused on supporting the Executive Director and SteelWatch Leadership team on a number of tasks, not limited to:

Manage diaries, schedule appointments, set up meetings, adapting to priorities.

Organise and book travel arrangements according to diary needs and internal policies.

Arrange and prepare for meetings with external partners, allies, donors and industry meetings, handling logistics (timing, location, travel, virtual arrangements)

Draft supporting materials (e.g., presentations) and assist with minute-taking, ensuring team input.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: The position is remote, and the location should be in a time zone within two hours of Central European Time. The UK location is a benefit. You must have the right to work in your location, and you will be employed in that country. SteelWatch is unable to support any visa application process.
Work environment: The work is mainly remote, although some face-to-face meetings are essential, within Europe. Working hours are flexible. Team members are currently located in Japan, the UK, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, and the team will continue to grow internationally. There will be some early mornings or evenings to accommodate interactions across time zones, with the flexibility to adjust your weekly schedule accordingly. Travel will be required to collaborate with allies and meet the team in person.
Terms and salary: The role is expected to be long-term and managed via an Employer of Record. The initial contract will be for 12 months, if feasible, within local employment regulations. While we envision this as a full-time role, we are open to other options (minimum 60% unless a job share). The UK salary for this position is in the range of £28,000 to £34,000 per annum, pro rata, based on experience. Comparable salaries in other countries are based on market rates.
