About Woolwich Service Users Project (WSUP) 
WSUP is a grassroots charity providing holistic support to individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, addiction, and mental health challenges in Woolwich and Greenwich. With a focus on lived experience and implementation of trauma-informed practice, we offer a range of essential services, from haircuts and healthcare screenings to wellbeing activities and community advocacy.

We are seeking a Fundraising Officer to help us grow our income from trusts, foundations, corporate donors, and individual giving.

Fundraising Officer - Job Description 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Fundraising & income generation  

• Trusts & grants: Research, write, and submit compelling funding applications to trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies to secure new and repeat funding. 

• Corporate & individual giving: Work alongside Business Relations Manager to develop relationships with corporate sponsors and individual donors, creating engagement opportunities. 

• Donor stewardship: Manage and nurture relationships with funders, ensuring timely reporting and impact updates. 

• Donor stewardship: Provide timely and effective follow-up communications with supporters, ensuring they feel valued and engaged. 

• Fundraising strategy: Support the development and implementation of WSUP’s fundraising strategy, identifying new opportunities for income growth. 

• Event fundraising: Assist in planning and delivering fundraising events to engage supporters and raise unrestricted funds. 

• Financial oversight: Work with the CEO to develop fundraising budgets and ensure accurate income tracking. 

• Financial oversight: Process cash and cheque donations for Community & Events income, including ensuring this income is processed and recorded accurately on our database which may include batch uploads. 

• Campaigns & appeals: Develop and implement online fundraising campaigns, such as Winter Appeal or emergency appeals. 

• Storytelling & impact reporting: Work with guests (with their consent) to share real-life stories that showcase WSUP’s work. 

Person Specification 

Essential skills & experience 

• Fundraising knowledge: Understanding of trust, foundation, and corporate fundraising, with experience writing successful grant applications. 

• Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and reports. 

• Relationship management: Ability to build relationships with funders, donors, and stakeholders at various levels. 

• Organisational skills: Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

• Social media: Experience using social media for fundraising and engagement, with an understanding of digital marketing principles. 

• IT proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), databases, and social media scheduling tools. 

• Financial literacy: Ability to create fundraising budgets and financial reports. 

Desirable skills & experience 

• Experience in a small charity setting, ideally within the homelessness or health-related sector, understanding the challenges and opportunities of grassroots fundraising. 

• Knowledge of fundraising legislation, including Gift Aid and GDPR compliance. 

• Experience organising donor engagement events or corporate sponsorship opportunities. 

• Proven ability to use videos and infographics to enhance fundraising campaigns. 

• Experience with volunteer management or coordinating fundraising volunteers.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Client Services Team which operates within HBF’s vibrant, multi-disciplinary team. The duties of Client Services Administrator are two-fold 1) is to host our busy reception area and friendly waiting room; welcome clients and visiting professionals to the Helen Bamber Foundation and attend to any needs they might have and 2) to oversee the booking of appointments between clients and staff/volunteers across the organisation; liaising with third parties and clinicians in relation to Initial Assessments; booking and managing doctor’s diaries for our Medical Advisory Services and the booking of interpreters across the organisation. You will be at the heart of an exciting team of experts, working as the face of HBF and the first point of contact for both external and internal queries.  You will be a self-motivating team player, organised, efficient and have a compassionate mind-set.

The role will work closely with the other person in post as Client Services Administrator and jointly manage the workload. The role also includes assistance and general facilities support to the Senior Operations and HR Coordinator.

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.  

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence across England and Wales. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding out what works and working for change. 

Key Responsibilities

Your role is to ensure YEF’s funding is directed toward the most crucial gaps in evidence – those that, if filled, will lead to meaningful change for young people. You will oversee the selection of the most promising, evaluable interventions to test in England and Wales, ensure trials are set up successfully, and work with our Evaluation team to deliver high-quality impact evaluations.

More specifically, you will:

Provide team and organisational leadership

• Provide inspirational leadership to the Programmes Team of ten people, ensuring they are best-in-class at supporting delivery organisations to engage in robust evaluation.

• Oversee the Programmes team, including direct line management of four Programme & Impact Leads.

• Ensure the expertise within the Programmes Team is embedded in YEF’s wider work, drawing on the team’s experience of working with delivery organisations to help shape policy and practice recommendations.

• Represent YEF externally, ensuring our funding programmes are well understood and aligned with our sectors’ needs.

• Directly contribute to annual and multi-year planning as part of YEF’s operational planning cycle.

• Be responsible for tracking and reporting progress against our key organisational performance metrics. 

• Help build and model a culture where it is natural to perform well, and colleagues support one another to do so.

Hold strategic oversight of new evaluation commissioning

• Work with the Assistant Director of Evaluation to shape and implement YEF’s strategy for programme and evaluation commissioning. 

• Oversee the team in identifying and developing proposals for new trials within our main sectors. 

• Assess the feasibility and strategic value of evaluation proposals, making stop/go decisions on their progression.

• Ensure the Programmes Team effectively supports grantees to work with evaluators to co-design interventions and develop clear, robust plans for trial setup and delivery.

• Oversee the development of high-quality proposals for new trials, assuring quality and presenting clear recommendations for our Grants and Evaluation Committee.

Be responsible for the ongoing oversight of the full portfolio of evaluations 

• Lead and be accountable for delivering on YEF’s Race Equity commitments within our funding decisions and grant delivery.

• Serve as a senior escalation point for a portfolio of c.50 live trials, maintaining oversight of progress across our portfolio of live trials and intervening early when we spot risks.

• Oversee the financial management of the team’s project portfolio across c.50 live trials, ensuring effective budget oversight, approving grant payments, and maintaining financial accountability.

• Provide direct advice and guidance to the Programmes Team on the setup and delivery of our most complex trials.

• Ensure the rapid mobilisation of new trials following approval.

Build meaningful partnerships and strengthen the organisation’s influence

• Be responsible for partnership opportunities with central Government—holding key relationships, assessing the strategic value of co-funded evaluation projects, and overseeing Heads of Evaluation to negotiate new partnerships terms.

• Steward strategic relationships with other key stakeholders, including other research and policy organisations, funders, and delivery organisations that will help us influence change.

• Represent the Fund on boards, committees and events, including providing up-to-date information to external audiences on YEF-funded activity, and sitting on the board of external organisations linked to YEF’s work.

• Be proactive in identifying co-funding opportunities and ensuring fundraising targets are met for new and existing evaluations.

IPSEA is the leading charity in the field of special educational needs and disability (SEND) law in England, and we provide free and independent legal advice and support to families of children and young people with SEND. The organisation has assessed the trusts' function recently, the outcome of which shows that there is scope to significantly grow this area of activity. Full support will be given to the Trust Fundraising Manager to enable this growth to happen.

You will be a motivated self-starter able to write, budget and communicate effectively. About this role 

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Finance and Operations Coordinator to join our finance team. The Senior Finance and Operations Coordinator will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and financial tasks, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, and providing support in the preparation of financial statements, restricted and unrestricted funds budgeting, reporting and managing operations. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Project financial management with major Institutional donors, trusts and foundations, possess strong analytical skills, and have a solid understanding of UK charity accounting principles and regulations. Job Description 

Main Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 

Finance 

• Oversee accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations. 

• Oversee the process and reconciliation of financial transactions, such as invoices, payments, and expense reports. 

Financial Management:

• Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures including monthly reconciliations, journals, accruals & prepayments.

• Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices and advise management accordingly.

• Monitor cash flow and provide management options Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits. 

• Provide support in payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements. 

• Assist in implementing and improving accounting processes and systems. 

Project Financial Management

• Lead on budgeting and forecasting processes with Programme colleagues

• Support programme teams with periodical financial reporting including monthly project finance updates,

• Lead on programme audits 

Operations 

• Provide administrative support to the Operations, IT, HR and Security Management functions of the organisation, supporting a positive and healthy working culture across the organisation.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the Operations, IT, HR and Security Management functions.

• Support our organisational systems, from Office 365 to Salesforce, ensuring the organisation becomes more efficient and effective in how it works.

• Maintain accurate operational records using organisational systems and support colleagues on maintaining clear and updated records, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. 

• Support the update, roll-out and dissemination of our organisational policies and procedures. 

• Support a range of office, legal and administrative tasks as necessary, coordinating suppliers, contracts and organisational subscriptions. 

• Act as first port of call for all external communications, including general email, post and telephone enquiries, as well as communication with external suppliers, in a timely and professional manner.   

• Leads the logistics & IT arrangements of internal meetings (All Hands Meetings, Quarterly Team meetings, Board meetings, and others) under guidance.

• Tracks and reports on operational & CEO-related expenditures under guidance.   

• Supports in any other task as required by their line manager, CEO or board members. 

Skills required:  

Essential skills/Qualifications   

• High level of experience in using QuickBooks or similar finance software, preferably QuickBooks Online and Excel 

• Degree or equivalent in Finance/Accounting or relevant discipline

• Understanding of the UK regulatory framework – Annual filings to Charities Commission and Companies House.

• Experience of working with regulatory stakeholders – Auditors, HMRC, UK Charities Commission, Companies House

• Experience of working across major Institutional donors.

• Able to analyse and present financial information to non-finance colleagues.

What the job involves

As part of the Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll support the Head of Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Branding by directing the Business Partnering team, and developing and embedding our Business Partnering model.

You’ll partner with senior leaders and product owners to act as a supportive enabler of their communications objectives, and ensuring they’re actively engaged in the development of communications strategies, objectives and plans. A major part of the role will be enabling the integration of activity into the wider communications plan to enhance results from our communications.

You’ll guide the planning process for projects and campaigns to build awareness of risk, tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes for all men affected by and at risk of prostate cancer. As part of this role, you’ll also be managing a team of two.

Job Summary

Taking a leading role as part of the Individual Giving management team, you play an important part in helping to achieve a step change in the growth of the net voluntary income of St John. The role will work closely across Individual Giving and the wider Fundraising Directorate to develop an evolving supporter acquisition strategy that will aim to recruit new supporters with a focus on digital. The role needs to focus on managing the implementation of the strategy including using insight and data to develop, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate campaigns across a range of channels, with a cutting edge and contemporary approach whilst staying current with the continuously changing legislation and support climate. Responsibilities include working with agencies and suppliers to project manage the full cycle of direct marketing campaigns.

About You

• Significant experience in a third sector direct marketing role
• Track record in managing effective digital campaigns on a national or regional basis
• Experience of using fundraising databases e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Dynamics or similar
• Extensive experience of using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email social media, direct mail, telemarketing and SMS
• Experience of leading a revenue generating team, including generation of six figure acquisition income 

About the Role

• Oversee the supporter acquisition programme, taking responsibility for outstanding donor recruitment with the highest standard of quality and compliance and ensuring a diverse programme mix; ensuring they are in market on time, on budget and on brand.
• Develop an annual plan of acquisition activity; monitoring and analysing all campaign results, with ongoing test and learn mechanisms in place to drive continuous improvement and making recommendations for future activity to effectively maximise income and ROI
• Working collaboratively with key fundraising and data teams; lead the development and continuous improvement of new supporter product development
• Strong agency relationship management across a variety of partners and suppliers, from building relationships and negotiating to contract and routine performance reviews
• Lead on all KPI tracking, trend analysis and interrogation of results at all levels; including programme optimisation to ensure targets are met and contingency planning as required.
