Are you looking to apply your administrative skills in a role that truly makes a difference? We have an exciting opportunity for an Employee Access Assistant and Driver based near Stevenage.

In this role, you’ll support a visually impaired Guide Dogs Employee and Guide Dog owner, helping them perform their duties effectively through a mix of remote and in-person support. In-person support will be required once or twice a week locally in Stevenage involving tasks such as providing sighted guidance to navigate unfamiliar environments, helping with access to systems on a laptop, or describing the layout of rooms at events.

Your Microsoft Office expertise will be put to great use as you assist with a variety of administrative tasks, including document formatting, PowerPoint presentations, and note-taking. Your eye for detail will ensure that all documents are clear, accessible, and well-organised.

You’ll also help with travel arrangements as and when required, including collecting the employee from home and going to train station or providing a lift from their home to various Guide Dogs sites. A full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle are essential. You’ll provide sighted guidance, ensuring the employee can navigate unfamiliar environments with confidence. As the employee is a Guide Dog owner, being comfortable with dogs and helping with their care, such as exercise, will be part of the role as well.

Your excellent communication skills and person-centred approach will be key in building a close, trusting relationship with the employee. Flexibility will also be crucial, as you’ll need to adapt to changing tasks and demands.

This role requires the ability to work under pressure and take initiative, managing your workload efficiently. Whether assisting with travel, preparing documents, or providing sighted guidance, your proactive attitude and organisational skills will be key to your success.

You will be fully trained in tasks such as sighted guiding and how to work confidently around a Guide Dog, ensuring that you feel supported and equipped, even if you haven’t had experience in this space before. The role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Occasional flexibility will be required to work outside of core hours, including weekends and overnight stays.

• A strong planner and strategic thinker, with proven experience of developing, guiding and implementing strategy at department and cross-organisation level
• Extensive experience of planning, forecasting and budgeting, including developing investment cases and modelling income, return on investment and lifetime value over short, mid and long term horizons
• Demonstrable experience of leading, managing, motivating and inspiring high-performing teams

About the oppurtunity

The London Programme Coordinator will be responsible for managing a caseload of up to seven partner schools, attending and coordinating weekly tutoring sessions, developing relationships with pupils, school staff and volunteer tutors and collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. This role plays a crucial part in overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring sessions to ensure effective and impactful programme delivery.

Duties and responsibilities 

• Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage and effectively communicate with all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; leading weekly face to face and online tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.

• Responsible for overseeing the quality of both face to face and online tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery.

• Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in partner schools, including members of the Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers.

• Update and maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and end of programme surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators.

Qualifications and experience criteria:

• Experience working with volunteers and/or young people

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Evidence of ability to prioritise and manage administrative tasks

About the role 

This is a new role and sits in the Fundraising and Digital Directorate. How we work with Employers and Higher Education Institutions

At Unifrog, we partner with universities and employers to help them connect with our global network of highly engaged students, teachers and careers leaders.

Our partnerships allow universities and employers to co-create content which can be accessed on the Unifrog platform (including online subject taster courses and day-in-the-life videos), share upcoming events and opportunities with relevant Unifrog students and teachers, and take part in a series of events throughout the year aimed at providing students at Unifrog schools with all the information they need to make the best decisions for their futures, and create the strongest applications.

The role and responsibilities

As New Business Lead for Employer and HE Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in driving Unifrog’s growth in our employer and higher education markets. You’ll need to be target driven to help create a wider network of universities and employers to support Unifrog students from around the world to find their best next step.

You will be given support by both the HE and Employer teams but will also have the autonomy to lead your own campaigns and projects. 

You will be able to develop your skills, strengths and interests. We always look to make space for our team to grow within the company, and we have a general policy of promoting within.

Your key responsibilities:

• Design tailored campaigns involving emails, phone calls, webinars and social media, to target employers and higher education institutions in a smart and engaging way.

• Communicate with interested employers and higher education institutions to explain the work we do at Unifrog and the partnerships we offer in a compelling manner to secure online demonstrations for our Employer and Higher Education Partnership Managers.

• Attend conferences (sometimes overseas) to promote the work we do at Unifrog and network with relevant stakeholders in the employer and higher education sectors.

• Be the first port of call for partnership/collaboration enquiries from employers and higher education institutions.

• Work with our team of Employer and Higher Education Partnership Managers to understand the challenges they face and how you can support them in growing their partner bases.

• Analyse data from the Unifrog platform to inform your research around suitable higher education institutions and employers that we don’t work with but who would benefit from a partnership with us. 

• Support with other projects such as organising conferences, analysing our competitors, and reviewing our marketing collateral.

• Communicate information about our line up of online and in-person events to non-partner HE institutions, to secure their attendance at these events.

• Gain an in-depth understanding of our competitors in the market.
   

Working together

You’ll be working with the HE and Employer teams, alongside the Partnerships Director for International Schools and HE (who will be your line manager), the Partnerships Director for UK Schools and Employers, the Head of Employer Partnerships, and the Head of HE Partnerships. Your projects will also see you collaborating closely with the Marketing team.

The Magistrates’ Association’s aim is to help our members be the best magistrates they can be for the good of society. Make a Change 

Make a Change is a community-wide, early response approach to people using abusive behaviours (or who are concerned that they might be) towards a current or ex-partner. The model has been developed by Respect in partnership with Women’s Aid Federation England, drawing inspiration from their Change that Lasts approach. It includes three strands: expert support programme for perpetrators with parallel support for survivors, workforce development and community outreach.

Improving the safety, freedom and wellbeing of adult and child survivors of domestic abuse is a key outcome for our work with perpetrators.  The Make a Change model is a multi-partner project offering local areas a framework for delivering perpetrator work. Where feasible, we aim to establish partnerships with local survivor domestic abuse service to deliver parallel support for survivors (referred to as Integrated Support Service) as part the expert support strand.

This is a new and exciting role within the Make a Change team. About the role

The Director of Business Development and Partnerships (DBDP) leads work at the interface between EngineeringUK and the engineering and technology sector that we represent and serve. As a member of the Executive Team, the DBDP brings critical insight of the corporate world and ensures that our engagement activities are relevant to them, represent their breadth and that our research, analysis and policy work draws on current and real-world experience. The Director leads a team that maintains established relationships with businesses, PEIs and funders and builds new relationships, encouraging organisations to support our work through funding, the provision of content and holistic partnership opportunities. 

The Business & Industry team consists of 11 colleagues working under 4 pillars:

• New partnerships 
• Corporate relationships 
• Trusts and foundations 
• Professional institutions and partnerships. 

The Director has 4 line-reports: 3 Heads and one Manager. Each team has a slightly different role in meeting the B&I team strategy, but all work collectively to ensure that key industry bodies and businesses are engaged with our work. 

New partnerships. Engage new businesses with our portfolio of activities including corporate membership, EUK Education programmes, The Tomorrow’s Engineers Code, policy, and other opportunities.

Corporate relationships. Responsible for account managing existing relationships with members, sponsors and funders including supporting STEM strategy development, organising peer-learning opportunities, upgrading membership/funding levels, networking them across EngineeringUK, and deepening engagement across multiple activities.

Trusts and foundations. Managing existing high-value partnerships with funders who support our programmes, engaging new funders to scale our work, working with other teams to develop compelling proposals and raise EngineeringUK’s profile in the grant-making space.

Professional institutions and partnerships. Coordinate engagement with PEIs across EngineeringUK, ensuring a consistent approach and maximising joint value from our partnership. Securing new partnerships (and then managing, renewing and cross-selling the relationship) with SME clusters. 

Reporting to the Chief Executive, and as part of the Executive Team, the DBDP is expected to understand the governance requirements of charities and companies and work with the Board of EngineeringUK to support decision making.

The role is London based at our office at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN and may involve some travel in the UK . We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a minimum of 2 days (or 40%) a week in the office and the option for a flexible start and end to the working day in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames.
