Job Description

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) created the Culture Recovery Fund (CRF) to help cultural organisations and heritage sites during the COVID-19 pandemic. This Fund included a £254 million loans programme for arts, culture and heritage organisations. Arts Council acts as loan agent for the borrowers in the programme portfolio.

You will be responsible for all aspects of Arts Council's management of the CRF loans portfolio. You will be the principal contact with DCMS and will be required to meet with them regularly to report on a range of CRF loans portfolio issues and activities including formal portfolio reviews, loan re-profile recommendations, commissioning of external legal and financial advice, loans management process and systems.

The CRF Loans Director will have direct line management responsibility for the CRF loans team and your duties will include:

• Overseeing effective loans monitoring processes to identify where borrowers' business performance indicates a risk to loan repayment
• Reporting to DCMS on the performance of the loans' portfolio on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Making recommendations on appropriate action to take on defaulting or at-risk loans.
• Ensuring performance management, risk and internal controls are in place and used effectively.

The Successful Applicant

The successful CRF Loans Director will hold an ACA/CCAB/CIMA qualification (or equivalent) with experience of working at a senior level and exposure to working with loan lenders and borrowers.

You will have excellent financial analysis skills and be able to present complex financial information in simple understandable form to decision makers and others.

Ideally you will have a background within an audit and/or social impact organisation and have an understanding of shaping a loans fund.

Role purpose 

In this role you’d be supporting the Head of Impact and working alongside the policy and impact officer to deliver our impact and evaluation activities. This includes delivering our monitoring, evaluation and learning framework; conducting bespoke research; working directly with beneficiaries and volunteers; and using technology to demonstrate and communicate the impact Re-engage has on the lives of older people experiencing loneliness and social isolation.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Support the administration and ongoing development of our regular monitoring, evaluation and learning activities, including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
• Administer the routine capture of impact and evaluation data, using our systems and CRM database, ensuring the accurate recording of data in line with GDPR guidelines and best practice
• Conduct a range of evaluations using both quantitative and qualitative methods including online, telephone and paper surveys, interviews and focus groups

Role Summary 

To provide administrative and operational support for Into Film’s Filmmaking programme, including the BFI-funded Young Creatives programme and our Every Child a Filmmaker initiative. This role supports the wider programme’s operational delivery by handling organisational tasks and assisting with specific activities, ensuring smooth running of projects in collaboration with the Filmmaking Coordinator, Filmmaking Lead and wider team. 

Main Responsibilities: 

• Be part of the matrix project team supporting filmmaking activity across the organisation, working under the Filmmaking lead, Filmmaking Coordinator, and Joint Head of Programmes, to implement the delivery plan for Filmmaking. 
• Provide administrative support for the delivery of filmmaking projects, focusing on scheduling, tracking, updating documentation, and reporting. 
• Assist in the coordination of partnerships with informal youth groups to help stimulate and incentivise filmmaking activities, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking of partnerships.

The Opportunity   

The Aspiring Professionals Programme Coordinator (APPC) role will be well-suited to someone who is focused on the best ways they can help the aims of the charity as well as those of our participants and partners. An APPC is responsible for supporting the delivery and development of the Social Mobility Foundation’s programme of activities for young people through their S5-6/sixth form and university years.

• Organising, supporting and delivering skills sessions, partner events, university trips, both in person and virtually across SMF cities and other parts of the UK. 
• Coordinating logistics for virtual and in-person events, including content creation, securing venues and speakers, producing webinars and video calls, advertising events, collating attendee lists and compiling feedback/evaluation 
• Coordinating logistics of 6F/S5-6 and undergraduate internships, including but not limited to, internship advertising and student selection, liaising with students and employers throughout internship delivery, and compiling student feedback/evaluation

About the Accelerating Reform Fund

The Accelerating Reform Fund is a new initiative which aims to transform social care services, making them more responsive to the needs of the community. It is a national programme, with 42 regions allocated to have their own projects. Greater Manchester is one of the ARF regions. The ARF has a particular focus on unpaid carers aims to boost short-term breaks for carers and improve hospital discharge processes. This work is made possible by Department for Health and Social Care grants. As an organisation, Gaddum has supported and collaborated with unpaid carers for many years, so we’re excited to bring our experience to the table. This role will be based in the Manchester team working to improve hospital discharge processes for Carers and will be based in one of the three hospital sites in Manchester (North Manchester General, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Wythenshawe Hospital)

Job Summary

To develop and ensure safe discharge planning and information for unpaid carers. To embed procedures to raise awareness of the needs of carers in a secondary care setting, working in partnership with the discharge and enablement teams. To empower carers to be involved in the discharge process.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support the early identification and referral of carers, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate support to meet their needs. The role focuses on enabling faster, safer, and smoother hospital discharges by addressing carer-related issues and providing clear referral pathways for hospital staff, acting as a critical link between secondary care and community services. By fostering collaboration with hospital staff and local services, this role contributes to the prevention of carer breakdown, reducing the risk of hospital readmissions and ensuring a seamless transition from hospital to home.

• Lead on a Art across the school from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5. 
• Develop or support the production of Schemes of Work and resources to support the delivery of your subject curriculum across all Key Stages
• Teach the Art National Curriculum, (which could include working towards Entry Level, Arts Award, GCSE or A-Level) to students in Key Stages 1, 2, 3, 4 or Post 16.
• Adapt the teaching of curricula to meet the varying learning needs of pupils with Autistic Spectrum Conditions
• Use progress data to monitor progress, set targets and plan subsequent lessons.
• Give pupils regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking, and encourage pupils to respond to the feedback.
• To provide feedback and advice to staff and members of the multidisciplinary team regarding the assessment and treatment of a pupils physical, functional, cognitive, sensory and perceptual abilities. This includes psychosocial needs.  
• To provide feedback to parents, carers and external agencies, as consented by the pupil or their advocate(s).  

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
   
• Have a secondary teaching qualification with a specialism in Art.
•  Experience of working with children who have autism and communication difficulties co-morbid with learning difficulties, ADHD, Mental health and/or sensory processing issues
• A strong commitment to working co-operatively with parents.
• Knowledge of approaches/methodologies that can support children with autism e.g. TEACCH, Attention Autism and SPELL.
• Knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum and the demands it places on children with additional needs.
• High Level of personal resilience

Our policy work plays a pivotal role in pushing for widespread change that will help prevent epilepsy deaths and gain greater recognition of the life-long impact these sudden deaths have on communities. So we’re looking for someone who has experience of engaging with and influencing policy-makers, preferably in the charity or health/care sector. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in building on established relationships with the NHS and local authorities across the country who are keen to use SUDEP Action’s expertise and tools to make change. There is much to do in challenging circumstances. Our national campaign has global support with real opportunity with a new Parliament to build back to our level of influence to our experiences before the dramatic impact of Brexit, the COVID pandemic and cost of living crisis.  Working closely alongside and reporting to the Director of Policy and Influencing (who has nearly 3 decades of expertise), you will learn the field to deliver high quality policy and campaigning for the charity.

Engaging confidently with people and feeling comfortable in adapting your approach to different audiences is a key skill for this role – epilepsy, and in particular epilepsy bereavement is a challenging area to gain attention and change, so you’ll need tenacity, creativity and passion to succeed. You’ll have experience in writing punchy, evidence-based communications that have personal stories at the heart.

Building positive supporter connections is at the heart of what we do at SUDEP Action, so setting a positive example of this through your work and actions, and demonstrating the importance of maintaining strong, personalised relationships is key. You’ll be ready to record, monitor and evaluate the impact and engagement with policy work, so this feeds back into how the charity operates. The successful candidate will be able to build on current processes and successes to grow our engagement across all policy activities and campaigns.
