Since the Pathology Portal platform launched on 15 August 2022, the number of users, resources and editors continues to grow quickly. The Pathology Portal won the prestigious Outstanding Innovation award at the Healthcare Honours on 23 November 2023 and so this is a great opportunity to join the successful team. We are looking for someone to fill a 14 hours per week job share, working collaboratively with the existing part-time Learning Platform Technician to support editors who contribute and upload learning material to the Pathology Portal.
The Learning Platform Technician will review and edit materials including videos, ensuring they are in line with requirements before assisting with the upload process and supporting editors in the process by dealing with queries or issues as they arise. The postholder will also administer the Editorial Board meetings.
Scientific experience is not required for this role and training will be provided on how to upload materials. As the Pathology Portal is a joint project between the College and NHS England, it is important that the uploaded materials adhere to the Portal’s brand identity and style guidelines.
The role includes a wide range of tasks involving content upload and administration, as well as communicating with various stakeholders. The role will be well suited to an individual who is keen to learn new skills, enjoys problem solving and providing feedback to support the continuous development of the Pathology Portal.
The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. The College’s main tasks are to set and maintain training standards for doctors and scientists, to advice on the appointment of consultant pathologists, to ensure the membership is kept up to date with current practice through the continuing professional development scheme, and to promote the latest developments in pathology by holding scientific meetings.

Rainbow Migration, the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system, is recruiting a Communications and Campaigns Assistant who is keen to gain experience in digital communications, campaigning and supporting the involvement of people with lived experience in our work.
Rainbow Migration has been campaigning for the rights of LGBTQI+ people since 1993 and has stepped up this work since 2021. We now have an opportunity for a Communications and Campaigns Assistant to join us and provide vital support across our communications, campaigning and influencing work.
This would be an ideal position for a creative, digitally experienced individual with a passion for LGBTQI+ campaigning.
This role will receive full training and support to build your skills while making a real impact. Your responsibilities will include:
- Create and schedule eye-catching social media posts – with a focus on Instagram and Tik Tok
- Create graphic, audio and video content to showcase our services and campaigns
- Get hands-on with digital campaigns by helping to set-up, test and promote online campaign actions
- Support the planning and delivery of online and in-person events
- Interview service users and support them to turn their experiences into inspiring stories
- Support LGBTQI+ people who have sought asylum to be involved in our communications and campaigns

Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week). Working part-time (minimum 28 hours a week) will be considered. When applying, please state what hours you are looking to work. Occasional evening or weekend work is required, but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.
Salary: Starting at £23,928 with potential annual step increases up to £26,930 (pro rata if working part-time), plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. In addition to an annual step increase, the trustees consider giving a separate inflationary increase every April.
Location: Remote or from Rainbow Migration’s offices which are based in London between Vauxhall and the Oval. Hybrid working will also be considered. The successful candidate could work from anywhere in the UK but would be expected to occasionally travel to London and other parts of the country for meetings and events. Annual Leave: 25 days per year rising after 24 months by 1 day after each year of service to maximum of 28 days per year (pro rata if working part-time).

About the role

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights and feminist organisation led by and for Latin American migrant women in the UK. Our work is dedicated to supporting the immediate and long-term needs of Latin American migrant women exposed to violations of their fundamental human rights; facing violence against women and girls, exploitation or trafficking; enduring difficult living and working conditions in low paid jobs and facing barriers to social protection.
LAWRS Social Change team reflects our inclusive approach to developing policy, advocacy and campaigning work by centring the experience of the most marginalised and excluded women to call for social justice. By enabling the participation of women with lived experience in policy and campaigning work our social change team promotes a holistic, rather than issue based, understanding of human rights violations experienced by Latin American migrant women in order to tackle systemic barriers that heighten migrant women’s vulnerability to abuses and which bars them from exercising their rights, accessing justice and leading violence free lives.
