About the role:
This role is home and office based, with travel throughout London. As a Male Independent Domestic Violence Advocate - Housing Specialist you will:
- Ensure that male survivors' safety & housing needs are met
- Provide specialist support for survivors at the moment of crisis
- Provision of advocacy; supporting survivors to access safe accommodation
- Prioritise the safety, security & dignity of service users
You will need:
- An understanding of domestic abuse & it's impact
- Knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management
- Understand Safeguarding issues, & the legal responsibilities surrounding these
- Understanding of Housing Law, able to provide up to date advice & information on housing related needs
- Experience of working with housing agencies or in a housing setting
- Good communication, negotiation & advisory skills, both written & verbal when interacting with a range of agencies & individuals
- Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
- The ability to speak a second language is desirable: specifically Arabic or Urdu; Sylheti/Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, Turkish, Kurdish, Polish, Gujarati, Somali, Yoruba, Akan, French, Lingala or Igbo is desirable

About the role

Ambition Aspire Achieve was founded in 2016 by Kevin Jenkins OBE, because of a longstanding desire to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people. We deliver a wide range of projects and services based out of our youth hubs, the Terence Brown Arc in the Park in Canning Town and the Glyn Hopkin Abbey Hub in Stratford, and across local communities in Newham via a programme of detached outreach work. Starting early, we work with children as young as 5 years old, right up to 25 as young people transition into early adulthood. The Role
The role offers an exciting opportunity to join AAA’s management and coordination team, playing a key part in supporting vulnerable young people to reach their full potential, whilst making a significant contribution to the development of our youth programmes. Recruited on a full-time basis (with part time options considered), responsibilities include:
- Developing, overseeing and delivering youth projects and programmes based out of AAA’s youth hubs, ensuring project milestones, outputs and outcomes are met or exceeded in line with funding agreements.
- Monitoring and evaluating our targeted youth projects and programmes, providing reports to the Chief Executive, Board of Trustees and key funders as required.
- Leading and line managing a small team of youth workers, enabling the delivery of high-quality youth work programmes
- Taking a lead on developing youth voice and involvement and supporting peer leaders.

We work primarily with adoptive and connected carer families, and children who have low level mental health difficulties. We are a trauma-informed service and have specialist expertise in neuro-diversity and children with special education needs. The well-established team has a strong track record in therapeutic interventions, including music therapy, art therapy and narrative therapy based multi-family groups for younger children who are adopted or with a Special Guardianship Order. We have a purpose built therapy building and have recently built a music studio for our adolescent work. About the role
We are seeking an experienced HCPC qualified Music Therapist to provide leadership, supervision and management of music therapists and other creative therapists in the service. You will carry out therapeutic multi-disciplinary assessments and music therapy interventions with adopted and Special Guardianship Order families. This work involves trauma informed approaches, family work and life story work. The team is led by a Clinical Psychologist and provides creative, relational, and evidence based approaches, collaborating with wider networks and reaching schools and communities to inform child centred and trauma informed practice. The post holder will receive supervision by a highly qualified Music therapist, and be line managed by a Clinical Psychologist. The post offers a unique opportunity to work alongside skilled creative and family therapists. We seek to empower children and families using strengths based narratives, as well as accepting vulnerability and seeking opportunity for connection, strengthening resilience and support.
The successful candidate will be experienced at working with managing and supervising therapists, developmental trauma, and child and family work and operates with initiative and responsiveness in a dynamic professional environment. A background in CAMHS and/or a social care services would be desirable, with a good understanding of safeguarding planning and managing highly emotive situations. Experience of running multi-family groups would be an advantage. This role requires a supportive professional, a team player, who enjoys working in a diverse, respectful and challenging team.

Position: S11187 Stroke Association Support Coordinator
Location: Home-based Birmingham and Solihull however, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings).
Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week (flexible working available)
Salary: Circa £22,919 per annum (FTE circa £26,700 per annum)

This role as Senior Practitioner within our Domestic Abuse services will provide housing advice and advocacy support to LGBTQ+ people who require housing support to leave a domestic abuse situation or require longer-term resettlement. The role will provide direct line management to our specialised domestic abuse case workers delivering our services across PAN London.
