Strategic Lead for Clinical & Quality Governance (19965)

Barnardo's ambition is to be a quality provider of integrated health and social care support contracts, increasing the reach of health and wellbeing services to reduce health inequalities in the communities we work in. 

We're looking for a Clinical Quality and Governance Lead to support the Head of Safeguarding & Quality, in leading the development, delivery, and refinement of the clinical governance policy, framework, and practice as part of Children's Service operations. 

The role will lead on policy development, implementation. To promote systemic improvements in clinical governance across all integrated health and care services.

The post holder will be required to:  

• Lead the creation, design, delivery, and evaluation of a new Clinical Governance Framework. 

• Provide strategic leadership for clinical governance and quality, identifying and implementing assurance and compliance monitoring and improvement plans, alongside operational management. 

• Support the Directorship in the development and delivery of strategies pertaining to clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement. 

• Lead the clinical governance agenda and develop of robust systems in clinical governance and quality, underpinning safe clinical practice and fostering multidisciplinary working across the organisation. 

• Lead on clinical governance to support performance reporting to commissioners. 

• Supporting the organisation to meet the regulatory requirements of external standards and inspections.  

• Support the development of assurance systems that identify evidence-based, and quality practice is in place throughout the organisation. 

• Work with Children's Services and BDU (Business Development Unit) to identify all clinical governance requirements to enable commission and grow digital and new health and support services. 

• Develop an integrated approach to ensure clinical governance. Quality and compliance meet commissioner expectations and improve clinical quality focussed outcomes. 

• Be a subject expert for knowledge for all staff, providing guidance, developing expertise support leadership in relation to clinical governance.

• Engage autonomously and collaboratively with Senior Management Teams to develop and ensure implementation of changes as required, ensuring delivery of key strategic and operational objectives.

• Work with stakeholders across the country to mitigate risks and assure robust clinical governance, facilitating changes in practice, driving tangible outcome improvements for Children and Young People. 

You'll have: 

Education/Knowledge 

• Professional NMC, HCPC or other AHP registration (current), with a minimum of 5 years' experience 

• Leadership or management qualification or equivalent recent experience in a leadership position 

• Educated to Masters level (desirable) 

Skills/Experience 

• Overall understanding of Early Years and Integrated Child & Family Health alongside Mental Health support services, emerging service options, knowledge of demand, and leading practice 

• Experience of working within Clinical Governance within the NHS or equivalent 

• Understanding of the broader NHS landscape and current reforms e.g. Long-Term Plan and ICS/ICB developments 

• Ability to work from and travel to a variety of work locations as required.

Are you passionate about data and keen to play a key role in supporting impactful communication strategies? We are seeking a Data Selections Officer to join our Data and Insight team. This role is vital to the delivery of our communications programme by understanding our campaign activity and delivering targeted data selections. 

As a Data Selections Officer, you will work closely with various teams across the organisation, gathering data requirements and ensuring that selections align with campaign goals. You will manage the scheduling and delivery of complex targeted data segmentations and selections for campaign activities across direct mail, telephone, email, SMS, and social media channels.  Additionally, you'll be responsible for building and managing complex data segmentations, making sure all outputs comply with data protection regulations and internal policies.

You'll also manage and maintain automated supporter journeys using our campaign management tools. This involves streamlining processes and ensuring efficiency in how data is selected and utilised.

A key part of your role will be providing ad-hoc reports to support various business needs, including campaign planning and funding applications. Your input will help to ensure that all data-driven activities meet our strategic goals and reflect our core values.

Head of Communications

Location: The role is based at the Trust’s office in West Berkshire with a minimum of three days per week expected to be worked at our Newbury office. Flexible working arrangements are available with the understanding that this must meet the objectives of the charity and requirements of the role.

Purpose

Key responsibilities and duties

This is an exciting and vital role to shape and deliver a multi-channel communications strategy for a leading mental health charity, focused on supporting the systems around children and young people including parents/carers, schools, colleges and universities. The main responsibilities will include creating and overseeing the activation of the marketing strategy and using data insights and analytics to grow and develop the Trust’s reach and support. The role will also act as the guardian to the organisation’s website as the main resource and marketing hub.

The role will enable the charity to proactively grow awareness, drive engagement, enhance its public profile and shape understanding of the Charlie Waller Trust by taking an audience-first approach to communicating our impact and purpose in an engaging and strategic way.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the role requires working closely with the CEO and other heads of teams to develop and grow the marketing and communications strategy, to raise awareness of the charity’s resources and to support the generation of income through the marketing of fundraising and workplace activities. The role will also work closely with and report into the Board of Trustees.

We are looking for a strategic thinker, with experience of both traditional and digital marketing. Someone who enjoys working with data and is always on the lookout for interesting angles or new channels or tactics to test. A passion for using marketing to understand and reach new audiences is vital. An analytical eye is needed alongside an ability to be creative and a desire to share success stories to further raise awareness of the organisation and to extend its reach.

Empathy for our audience and the ability to communicate in a way that allows them to feel seen and understood is important; you will need to have strong interpersonal skills, a desire to develop and build a team and to maintain communication and relationships with others across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities and duties

Creating, leading and overseeing the delivery of the organisations marketing strategy including:

• Planning and developing the marketing strategy in line with organisational directives, new resources and initiatives.
• Overseeing strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure press coverage and increase public awareness.
• To ensure the appropriate and most effective marketing channels and tactics are used to support the programme and fundraising teams.

• Membership of the senior leadership and management teams.
• Assist the senior leadership team and trustees to oversee strategic and operational issues, managing risks related to communications, brand and public image.
• Quarterly marketing reporting to trustees.
• Working in partnership with other agencies on issues of common concern.
• Membership of project group (a cross-departmental group responsible for selecting, tracking and evaluating projects).
• Manage marketing agencies and freelancers to deliver work in line with the marketing strategy in an efficient and timely manner.

HR responsibilities including:

• Overseeing the recruitment to expand the marketing and communications team where required.
• Provide effective management of the communications team (5 direct line reports and 2 other staff).

This is a fantastic opportunity to join and lead Learn English at Home (LEAH), a small and dynamic charity who have been supporting ethnically and culturally diverse adults to learn English for forty two years.

As Charity Director, you’ll be working in a multi-cultural environment supporting vulnerable people with limited English across Kingston, Hounslow and Richmond. Our client group includes refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants, and our volunteer-led services support them to learn English and gain access to vital local services, including housing, education, healthcare.We provide a ‘blended’ service for our clients which includes in-person and on-line support as well as class-based teaching, all of which is dedicated to helping those with the lowest language skills to progress into volunteering, education and work.

LEAH has experienced a period of growth, having doubled its staff team across the last 5 years to meet demand for our services. We have no shortage of clients, a strong and enthusiastic volunteer base and a dedicated and experienced staff team.

LEAH is at an exciting time, and we are aiming to expand our service impact and reach across London.  The new Director will lead the development of the new 2025-28 strategic plan which will be the key to our future development and success.

Today, 12 children and young people will be diagnosed with cancer. We’ll stop at nothing to make sure they get the right care and support at the right time.

About the role

We’re looking for a Legacy Marketing Officer to join our Individual Giving and Legacy Team.

It’s an exciting time to join the Legacy Team as we are embarking on a new era for legacy and in memory giving at Young Lives vs Cancer.  In memory giving and gifts in Wills left to us by our supporters are essential to ensuring we can help generations of children and young people who will sadly be living with a cancer diagnosis. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Legacy Marketing Officer to play a pivotal role in supporting the Legacy Marketing Manager to plan, implement and deliver legacy and in-memory strategies.

The Legacy Officer will work on a range of legacy and in-memory campaigns, materials and supporter centric journeys across multiple channels.  As a team we will maximise legacy and in memory giving and acquire new legacy and in memory supporters, as well as nurturing existing supporters who have expressed an interest in leaving a gift in their Will for the future of Young Lives vs Cancer’s work. 

The role will suit a passionate and creative individual who thrives on working collaboratively and who is able to manage end to end projects and supplier relationships.  There will be a need to analyse data to monitor performance as well as identifying trends and opportunities. Fulfilment mapping is also a key element of the role as well as being comfortable presenting in person to colleagues and suppliers.

What will I be doing?

WorkWell is an exciting new government/DWP initiative to get people back to work. As well as providing work placement support, it will also address and support any physical or mental health needs via a Mental Health Provider and Physical Health Advisor who form part of the team. The pilot in Surrey will be going live in December and aims to empower people to take control of their health, wellbeing and any impacts this is having on their employment via referral to a WorkWell Coach. That’s where you come in.

Working as a key part of the primary care network (PCN) and other community hubs, your challenge will be to provide a supportive environment that enables each individual to identify their health and wellbeing concerns and the impact these are having on their employment. That will involve taking a strengths-based approach, focusing on ‘what matters to me’ and, together with the individual, producing a personalised and holistic support plan that aims to help the individual thrive at work. We’ll also rely on you to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of physical activity, mental health and skills and employment advisors to provide direct interventions and connect individuals to diverse community-based support, thus ensuring they are able to maintain their health, wellbeing and employment in the longer term.

To succeed, you’ll need a good understanding of motivational coaching and interview skills, the ability to organise, plan and prioritise and a real commitment to develop. Familiar with office IT systems, you have good word processing skills and know how to use emails and the internet to create simple plans and reports. Just as important is a proactive and flexible approach plus the ability to listen to, and empathise with, people from all backgrounds and provide person centred support in a non-judgemental way. Put simply, you’re committed to reducing health inequalities and able to support people in a way that inspires trust and confidence, thus motivating others to reach their potential.

Our Direct Marketing Team is part of this department, and recruits and develops supporters. We are seeking a Direct Marketing Officer to join this team to independently manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns to recruit new donors, communicate with existing donors, and generate agreed income for Battersea through a variety of warm and cold marketing channels such as direct mail, print media, and digital promotion. The Role

Recovery and Connect is a project delivered in partnership with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The Recovery and Connect Worker will work intensively with a caseload of individuals identified by the HomeFirst alliance, who have a pre-existing mental health concern and to support them to access ongoing community services. The role will involve working as part of a team aligned to the shared care forum to support vulnerable service users.

About You

With a diploma or degree in appropriate subject i.e. counselling, psychology, social work, probation, mental health, Health and Social Care (level 3) and community experience of mental health, wellbeing, or behaviour change work with adults, you will have:

Your challenge? To provide advice, support, advocacy and key work for recovery plans and undertake elements of assessment and case management as directed. And, all the while, we’ll expect you to operate in a way that recognises and values diversity and understands the functional model of substance use, the Recovery Agenda and the problems caused by alcohol and drug misuse.

Preferably with a NVQ 2/3 in Social Care, or willing to attain this, you are used to working to policy and procedural requirements that include child protection, vulnerable adults, confidentiality and health & safety.

We’ll also be looking for good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and fulfil data requirements. A flexible approach is important too, as is a commitment to taking a client centred approach to providing services and working in a way that recognises and values diversity.
