The New Normal are seeking Volunteers to join our Fundraising team! The primary responsibilities of this role will be supporting the Fundraising Co-Ordinator and the fundraising activities for the Charity. 

We are looking for a driven and proactive person to support TNN in it's mission to provide free-to-access peer support for a diverse range of grief experiences, communities and identities.

Applicants should have the capacity to reliably provide around 8 hours per month on a flexible basis. 

We are seeking someone who has experience in community fundraising, or in a similar capacity, within a charity, non-profit or community organisation. They should have skills in administration, organisation, communication and working as part of a team.

Fundraising Volunteer

Rethink Mental Illness (RMI) is one of the UK’s leading mental health charities providing on the ground support and signposting to over 100,000 people each year. In England 1 in 4 of us will suffer some form of mental health issue in our lifetimes the services RMI provide are vital in ensuring people suffering from mental health can live their best lives.

Our Fundraisers raise much needed funds through as variety of activities and events throughout the UK. This could be a charity ball, bake sale or a carol concert. You will supported in your role by your local the head of regional community fundraising. 

We are looking for volunteers who have:

• Good  interpersonal and listening skills
• Good organisational and networking  skills
• Passionate interest in raising funds for Rethink Mental Illness
• Moderate IT skills
• Have previous fundraising experience (not essential )

General tasks include:

• Meet with regional teams and other volunteers  to discuss ideas/developments and fundraising opportunities.
• Help in the organising, running  and promoting of  specific events
• Work together with regional team other volunteers to develop community fundraising initiatives.
• Collect and deposit funds in branch account

As a Practical Family Support Volunteer for Tŷ Hafan, you will assist families in need with various light tasks such as cleaning, tidying up and laundry.

Your contribution will go beyond housekeeping; it's about taking some of the pressure off and giving families the breathing space they need to spend more precious time together.

This role offers the satisfaction of knowing you are making a positive impact on families with a child with a life-shortening condition, by helping them create a tidy, clean and safe home environment that reduces their daily stress and worries.

Most importantly, you will be helping us to ensure that no family faces this challenge, alone.

Considerations:

Age requirement: 21+

Location: Across South & West Wales (in your local area)

Time commitment: Flexible and can be adjusted to accommodate your personal schedule. The support plans designed for referred families are typically structured to span a period of six weeks.

Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for volunteers with some skills, experience and knowledge of gardening, either as a profession or as a hobby.

Activities include:

Activities include helping families with light housekeeping tasks such as; cleaning, dusting, vacuuming and laundry, giving them the space they need to be there for their child who needs them.

Training you will receive:

You will receive a comprehensive introduction to Tŷ Hafan and your role, to include an in-person Induction and Training Programme as well as additional e-learning.

Other role and organisation specific training is available including both supplementary and mandatory training.

All volunteers must maintain their mandatory training to continue in their role.

The Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants currently has volunteering opportunities from late April/early May available for our online English lessons.

Aimed at a wide range of clients whose English spans the spectrum of absolute beginners to higher levels, we offer daily online classes where practising spoken English in small groups with volunteers is a core part of our schedule.

Our groups are entirely volunteer run and led. They are in the front line of engagement with local people, with an extensive programme of walks, talks, day trips and indoor meetings for the group and members of the public. We're looking for people who are passionate about connecting people with nature and helping in the smooth running of the group. By becoming part of the group, you'll have the chance to use your existing skills (and learn new ones) to build the group and make it an ever more important aspect of local RSPB connections with people. How flexible is the role?

The Newsletter editor will work for approximately 2 hours a week and attend on average 12 committee/planning meetings a year, plus adhoc meeting with MND Staff and volunteer group Leaders.

What sort of training/induction will I receive before starting?

You’ll be inducted into the role and informed about the Association. As part of this, you will receive e-learning, face-to-face training and mentoring. The training programme will also include experiential and reflective learning.

• Create Facebook events within the group, including key details about the walk (date, location, distance, difficulty).
