This is a new opportunity to join our Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) team.
We are committed to equal opportunities and we are particularly keen to reach as diverse an audience as possible in our recruitment to attract suitable applicants. We warmly encourage applicants from all genders and sections of the community. Particularly applicants from diverse groups.
RASASC is a registered charity which has been providing support to survivors of rape and sexual abuse of all genders (both recent and non-recent) and young people aged over 13, from across Surrey since 1992.
We provide an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Service. ISVAs support survivors to help them overcome the abuse they have suffered and to rebuild their lives. This service also includes supporting the survivor to seek justice through the judicial system, should the survivor wish.
We also provide one-to-one counselling, group work, youth counselling and a family support programme, and a national telephone helpline and live chat service.
Volunteers are an important part of the work we do. Volunteers staff our Helpline and many of our qualified counsellors work on a voluntary basis with survivors of rape and sexual abuse.
ISVA
ISVAs are survivor-focused advocates, who support survivors of recent and non-recent rape and sexual abuse to enable them to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse they have experienced. An ISVA provides individual support and this will vary from client to client.
This role is based at the RASASC Guildford office and will work across Surrey. The ISVA must have a full driving licence and use of a car that can be used for work purposes.
You will be part of a dedicated, experienced, and friendly team consisting of nine ISVAs. The ISVAs meet fortnightly for peer support and work collaboratively with each other to share knowledge. Each ISVA has a lead area of responsibility in addition to your caseload supporting a range of clients.
You will be provided with monthly clinical supervision and attend monthly one-to-one meetings with the ISVA team leader.

- The ISVA will be based at Guildford RASASC but will be expected to travel throughout Surrey.
- The ISVA is expected to carry out other duties from time to time which are broadly consistent with those in this document, as the job description cannot cover every issue which may arise within the post.
Key Tasks

· Undertake risk assessment and support needs analysis with survivor and develop a support plan for the survivor.
· To provide advice and support across a wide range of issues, such as housing, health and education, that will help to support the survivor and ensure their ongoing safety in the aftermath of the abuse.

· To provide expert advice and support in relation to issues and the impact of rape and sexual abuse on this client group to other members of the ISVA team as well as the wider RASASC team.
· The ISVA will be required to undertake accredited training specifically designed to support them in delivering this service. This training is held in Manchester and is delivered over six module. Each module is taught over two consecutive days to minimise the amount of time ISVAs are away. Currently this training is delivered virtually although this may change.

Falmouth & Exeter Students’ Union
Chief Executive Officer
Salary: £63,000-£65,000
Location: Falmouth and Penryn, Cornwall
Contract: Full time
Are you looking for a role as an ambitious and collaborative leader, passionate about student experience? If so, we’re looking for a visionary leader who work closely with our elected officers, trustees and other stakeholders to progress our strategy and long-term sustainability of the Students’ Union.
About the Students’ Union
We exist to represent over 8,000 of our members who are based mainly in Cornwall, but additionally we have a growing number of online and partnership students. Two-thirds of these are Falmouth University students and the remainder are from the University of Exeter. We are almost unique in the UK in serving two student cohorts from different universities some of whom share a campus. This presents an unusually complex context within which to exercise leadership. The students’ union operates across three sites. The Falmouth campus in the centre of town is solely for Falmouth’s Arts students, while Exeter’s medical students are based at a site in Truro. The Penryn campus is where most students are based and its successful operation is heavily reliant on a partnership between the two universities, FX Plus, a services company which delivers many of the central services on campus and the students’ union. The new CEO will have well-developed stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage effectively with complex partnerships in the interests of our students.
About the role
The Chief Executive will provide visionary leadership to ensure the long-term sustainability and strategic development of the Students’ Union (SU). Under the direction of the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive will drive the performance, development, and financial health of the SU, aligning its operations with its mission, vision, and values. This role requires fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture, supporting and empowering elected student leaders, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across Falmouth University and the University of Exeter as well as, FX Plus and the wider community.
The Chief Executive will work day-to-day with full-time and part-time elected student officers to communicate and implement the SU’s strategy and priorities effectively. The SU serves a diverse student membership from both universities studying in Cornwall. These students, although from different universities, share their university experience outside the lecture and seminar rooms, making it essential to enhance their overall student life and community engagement.
Additionally, the Chief Executive will lead strategic planning, implement effective governance, and enhance the internal and external reputation of the SU, ensuring it meets the needs of its diverse membership and key stakeholders.
We're a democratic, membership organisation and all students at the are automatically members of the Union. Overall legal responsibility for the Students' Union rests with our Board of Trustees which is made up of four full-time Sabbatical Officers, four student trustees and three external trustees. The Sabbatical officers are elected each year by, and from, the student membership of the University. They take a year out of their studies (or immediately after graduating) to take on a fulltime paid staff role and to serve as a trustee.
Closing Date: Tuesday 27th August 8am
First Stage Interviews (Remote): Monday 2nd September
Final Interviews (In-person at the Penryn campus): Wednesday 11th September

About Us
Founded in 2007, KHULA Education is an award-winning South African NGO working in partnership with rural schools and underserved communities in deep rural South Africa to ensure children and youth can access a quality education and economic opportunity.
Over the past 17 years, KHULA has transformed schools that were previously failing into schools that compete at the national level; supported hundreds of young people to access tertiary education opportunities; and helped hundreds more on the path to employment. Each year, we support over 6,500 children, youth and more than 300 teachers.
About the Role
KHULA Education is seeking an experienced and dynamic fundraising leader to lead KHULA’s fundraising and communication efforts in the UK and South Africa. The postholder will join us at an exciting time and help us to continue our growth trajectory which has seen our annual budget increase from £250,000 to £1 million in the past several years. Supported by the South Africa based CEO, and working closely with the UK Board of Trustees, the postholder will be joined by a new Fundraising Officer who you will line manage.
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial individual with strategic vision who will play an active part in developing KHULA’s future fundraising strategy. 70% of the role is focused on fundraising directly for our work, 30% on managing KHULA’s communications including donor newsletters and social media content (this may evolve with the recruitment of an Officer).
Key Responsibilities
- Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. The post holder is responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors, leading donor meetings and involving our Board and CEO as appropriate.
- Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
- External communications: creating our quarterly e-newsletter to a database of ~2,000 supporters, managing our social media channels and the Annual Report, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.
- Fundraising innovation: leading on innovation in our fundraising approach, including creative campaigns to increase donations/recruit lapsed donors, developing products and offerings whilst considering cost effectiveness and ROI. Of particular interest is how to harness the giving potential of guests who are exposed to KHULA Education’s work when they visit Fugitives’ Drift Lodge in Rorke’s Drift.
- Financial management and admin: maintaining our donor database, working with the CEO to prepare our annual budget and fundraising forecasts.
Person Specification
Ideally you’ll have held a role with a similar scope of responsibilities around fundraising and communications, however you don’t need to have held a director level role before. Experience in a smaller charity and team is beneficial as you’ll need to be comfortable with both the strategic development side and inputting into wider planning, as well as being a leader who is willing to role up your sleeves and ‘do’.
We are particularly interested to hear from candidates who demonstrate most/all of the following attributes:
- A proven track record of personally delivering income of at least £1 million per year, including new business
- Experience in a fundraising leadership role and confidence in working alongside and advising at board level
- Experience in successfully fundraising from trusts, foundations, major donors and corporates, with experience in other areas (events, legacies etc.) also welcome

- Comfortable acting in the capacity of charity ambassador, establishing new relationships and identifying new funding opportunities
