About you
As our Philanthropy Executive (Trusts & Foundations), you will be responsible for maximising income through managing a portfolio of four-to-five figure partners and prospects, engage with key external supporters and help the team build relationships with individual philanthropists and trusts through meetings, events, tailored communications and funding applications.
You will also play an essential role in building and nurturing relationships with UK-based trusts, supporting both our international and UK-based initiatives.
In your day-to-day, you will:
- Coordinate and provide high-level stewardship to our Small Trusts Portfolio through quarterly mailings that highlight the achievements and impact of Save the Children, fostering long-term donor support.
- Create bespoke proposals for donations up to £75,000, supporting our diverse projects both in the UK and internationally.
- Assist the Trusts team in maintaining and developing donor relationships, contributing to day-to-day partnership activities.
- Collaborate with the High Value Engagement team to deliver a range of communications aligned with our departmental strategy.
- Support the Trusts team during emergencies to maximize fundraising efforts for humanitarian responses globally.
- Aid the Trusts & Foundations Lead with financial information, pipeline management, and ensure donor records are up to date.
- Represent Save the Children at peer networking meetings, showcasing our work and values.

Ways of Working:

About us
World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK.
We are delivering employment support in the South West of England as part of the Refugee Employability Programme (REP). Support, which will follow our STEP model, is offered to refugees to develop their skills and identify the opportunities they need to secure sustainable employment. We now have an exciting opportunity for an Employment Advisor to join the team providing support to clients across the South West of England.
The Role
You will provide employment support to refugee clients enrolled in the Refugee Employability Programme (REP) and help them to achieve their employability goals. You will be the main point of contact for clients enrolled in the project, delivering one on one support across a variety of employability activities including updating CVs, writing cover letters, searching for jobs, applying for jobs, finding volunteering, work experience and training opportunities and preparing for interviews.
You will work to a variety of performance targets based on the progression outcomes of clients such as voluntary and work placements and achieving and sustaining paid employment.
About you
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience in successfully supporting refugees into sustainable employment
- Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by unemployed people to finding work, including those who first language is not English
- Experience of providing advice and guidance and supervising a caseload of clients
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong IT skills and the ability to work remotely with confidence
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with clients with varying levels of English
- Knowledge of using salesforce or other similar CRM system desirable

YMCA DownsLink Group is looking for a Building Surveyor to join the Asset Management team. This is a new role in our structure, playing a key part in delivering capital investment programme in line with the business plan – whilst working closely with other members of the team to ensure we maintain compliance and maintenance. This is a great opportunity for a dynamic individual to make this role their own.
As part of the Asset Management team restructure, we have identified a need for a Building Surveyor to assist the Head of Asset Management to deliver Capital Investment programme. By bringing these skills in house, it is hoped to create a more dynamic role with the benefit of ability to oversee upcoming works and provide additional resources to areas we need additional expertise such as dilapidations, disrepair, HHSRS and damp and mould.
You will be involved in the specification writing process (unless specialist consultancy is required) and lead the procurement to ensure we are OJEU compliant in our appointment of the appropriate contractor. You will lead on the delivery of capital investment programme, ensuring planned works are appropriately procured to ensure value for money and adequately experienced/qualified contractors deliver works. You will also undertake and maintain stock condition surveys, undertake building surveys to complete dilapidations, complex repair scoping of works (and specification writing – where appropriate), disrepair, damp and mould inspections (more complex cases) and provision of technical expertise in absence of Head of Asset Management. In addition, you will support colleagues across the business to empower them to confidently make low level decisions themselves.

About the role
The I Bike Project has been running since 2009 in Scotland, working with schools around the country, promoting healthy travel choices in Education. As the I Bike Schools Officer you will work with selected schools around the Bearsden and Milngavie areas of East Dunbartonshire to promote cycling, scooting and walking to and from school and other journeys.
This holder of this position supports school staff and volunteers, promoting active travel within the school community. You will harness local authority resources available for active travel and create connections between schools, external partners and the bicycle industry.
Candidates should be based within the geographical area with regular travel expected and the option of working hybrid from the nearest hub base in Glasgow.
About you
You should have experience of working with children and young people. Along with working in schools, community groups, environment projects or young people in another setting.
You will also have good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent presentation skills and report writing skills alongside the ability to engage with a wide range of age-groups. You will be able to prioritise your own workload.
You will have undertaken or be willing to undertake the National Standard cycle Instructor training and bike maintenance training.

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme at HMP Highpoint, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as a Project Officer working in partnership with Southeastern, Medway Council and other partners in developing the Kent Community Railway Partnership (CRP). You will work as part of a small team, building strong relationships with communities, schools, workplaces and other local organisations.
As the Project Officer, you will help deliver the CRP action plan, which is a combination of mini-projects and core activities, offering a tailored package of support to groups and various community and school groups. You will also bring new volunteers on board and support them with their ongoing experience as part of the CRP.
As the project officer you will develop and engage communities in fun, innovative and informative activities. You will also share resources, and work with communities to reduce car use to and from train stations, increasing the opportunities for walking wheeling and cycling,

The Centre for Justice Innovation seeks to build a justice system which all of its citizens believe is fair and effective. We provide hands on support to front-line practitioners, conduct research into how things work, and could work better, and promote evidence-based policy solutions.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic intern to support the work of the Centre’s Women In Justice Programme. The position is full-time for a fixed period of four months starting in September 2024 and pays the London Living Wage. Travel costs will also be reimbursed.
What will I be doing?
Evidence review
One of the primary roles you will undertake is a review of the existing evidence base around the profile and vulnerabilities of women engaged in the criminal justice system. This review will seek to synthesise evidence about both the prevalence of vulnerabilities of justice involved women and the mechanisms between those vulnerabilities and their offending. Findings from this evidence review will be key in supporting the development of messaging for policy makers, as well as contributing to the milestones below.
Analyse data to extract meaningful insights around the complex needs of women who come to court.
Our previous research into the vulnerabilities and unmet needs of people who come to court, and people’s experiences of the court process, all suggest that we must do much better to make the court process fairer. This is especially the case for women, who often have disproportionately high complex needs, and who often also have contact with the child protection system. This work will bring together evidence on the needs of women who come to court, in part by exploiting existing Community Advice service data to identify the number and profile of women attending court with support issues, as well as developing case studies. The evidence review will also play a core role in developing a picture of the evidence around the needs of women coming to court.
Contribute to the delivery of Women in Justice policy and practice priorities:
You will also support the delivery of our strategic aims in this area, in part through the findings of the evidence review. In particular, you will work with others to deliver the following milestones:

Analyse findings from recent fieldwork to develop recommendations to promote long-lasting change for community support for women with substance use disorders. Findings from the evidence review will ensure the recommendations are concrete and practical for policymakers, local authority commissioners and service providers.

Support the event management of a workshop convening practitioners working in, and interested in working in, problem-solving courts for women. Findings from the evidence review will be shared within the workshops to stimulate and inform discussions.

Promote the evidence for the use of problem-solving courts for women with policymakers. Summary findings from the evidence review will support the development of messaging for policy makers.
Development and engagement
Beyond these milestones, you will also support the development of the Centre’s Women in Justice programme, helping us develop our capacity to articulate the links between our work on women in contact with the criminal justice system and other relevant areas of work including family justice, women’s substance use and violence against women and girls. This work may involve working on the development of funding bids and supporting the Women in Justice area of focus leads in their work and stakeholder engagement. You will also attend any relevant events and parliamentary meetings that happen during this time, such as APPGs and VAWG conferences.
Support across the research team
In addition to working on the evidence review, you will support other members of the research team with research activities as required. This might include activities such co-facilitating interviews, coding transcripts, and holding an online workshop with participants.

The post holder will also have an understanding of children’s social care and care proceedings. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women involved with Children’s Social Services and Early Help, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

About the Role
As the Financial Controller you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and report into the Chief Executive Officer. You will lead a small team and manage the relationship with our existing outsourced finance team, payroll provider and auditors to deliver high quality professional finance services to the charity. Our Charitable Purposes Committee advises our Board of Trustees and is responsible for ensuring that the Charity’s resources are used effectively to support our provision of lifelong care and support for sufferers of the genetic skin disorder Epidermolysis Bullosa, and to support our investments in cutting edge research to find a cure for this debilitating condition.
Key responsibilities of the Charitable Purposes Committee are to:
- Review DEBRA UK’s Research & Care Strategy as it relates to research, health and community support and social policy on an ongoing basis.
- Receive and review reports from medical and scientific experts on current research activities.
- Determine, taking appropriate advice, the priorities for care and research expenditure each year.
- Oversee collaborative partnerships on care and research.
- Develop membership engagement, support and services.
- Review and develop healthcare initiatives to support member care.
- Receive reports on changes in national policy or practice within health and social care and agree appropriate responses from the Charity.
We provide any training necessary to allow you to fulfil your committee duties. This is an unpaid volunteer role, but any reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with the Charity’s expenses policy.
Meetings of the Charitable Purposes Committee currently take place four times a year, each lasting between 2.5-3 hours. The term of appointment is three years.
