About the role

We’re looking for a case study officer to join our talented and ambitious press, PR and celebrity team.

The successful candidate will support all elements of the charity’s case study function including recruiting and engaging new individuals with the charity who are willing to share their personal experiences of breast cancer to support our work and managing and nurturing key relationships day-to-day so they have the best possible experience when supporting the charity.  

A key element of the role will be supporting colleagues in the press, PR and celebrity team to identify and seize opportunities for case studies to share their experiences to raise awareness of breast cancer, Breast Cancer Now and how we’re here for anyone affected by this devastating disease.  

You’ll will work with teams across the organisation to support them in sharing the voices of people affected by breast cancer through their work. Liaising closely with colleagues to understand where case study support is required, you’ll identify the people who, through sharing their personal experiences, can best support activities to deliver on charity objectives. Key to this will be gathering the relevant insight and identifying ways we can engage case studies with our work in a way that’s mutually beneficial.

About you

You’ll have a good understanding of issues impacting people affected by breast cancer. With this you’ll have an awareness of, sensitivity to and ability to adapt to their changing needs and circumstances and how this might impact their ability or wish to support the charity’s work.  

When engaging individuals with sharing their story to support us, you’ll approach this work with professionalism, sensitivity and care at all times, being sure to identify opportunities bring about mutual benefit for both parties.

Handling sensitive information appropriately at all times is key to this role, and requires you to have a knowledge of GDPR regulations and a commitment to[VS3]  following Breast Cancer Now’s compliance and confidentiality regulations. You’ll also be proficient in using CRM tools to store and record interactions and sensitive data relating to supporters.

A strong verbal and written communicator with high levels of organisation, you’ll be prompt in responding to supporters and colleagues appropriately and with clear and accurate information. You will also be a quick learner and work well as part of a fast-paced press, PR and celebrity team.

As a Carers Hospital Support Co-Ordinator, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and supporting carers who’s relative, friend or neighbour is in hospital or receiving treatment at either the Royal London Hospital or the Homerton Hospital. You will be responsible for coordinating vital services, offering guidance, and creating a supportive environment to help carers cope with the challenges they may face whilst their cared-for is in hospital. 

Responsibilities: 

• Identification and Support: Proactively identify carers of patients admitted to, either the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel or the Homerton Hospital in Hackney, and provide them with tailored support, ensuring their well-being is prioritised. 

• Information and Guidance: Offer information about available hospital resources, support services, and community networks to assist carers effectively. 

• Communication Liaison: Facilitate communication between clinical staff and carers, ensuring they are kept informed about the patient's condition, treatment plan, and discharge process. 

• Emotional Support: Provide compassionate emotional support to carers, listening to their concerns and offering a caring presence during difficult times. 

• Training and Education: Organise workshops and peer support groups to equip carers with essential skills for their caregiving role. 

• Advocacy: Advocate for carers' needs and rights within the hospital setting, ensuring their voices are heard and respected. 

We are looking for a Climate Action Manager to join the Community Impact team. The role will collaborate widely across BITC and externally, to challenge and support business to accelerate a just transition to a net zero, resilient future where people and nature thrive. The Climate Action Manager will plan, design, and deliver collaborative projects, tools & resources,  as well as communications activities to support businesses and communities to accelerate a just transition to net zero.

The Climate Action Manager will work across both our business transformation and community climate fund projects, so having both business facing and community facing experience of delivering sustainability projects would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the role of business in delivering a just transition to net zero as well as experience of managing projects, delivering written content, facilitating workshops, and identifying trends and emerging issues. Peer Support Service Manager

Job Purpose

This role is an exciting opportunity to join, manage and support our Peer Support service which offers Peer Support group sessions in Central Bedfordshire, Bedford and Milton Keynes. This is a varied role where the post holder will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the service and for the line management of Peer Support Coordinator, Peer Mentor Facilitator, Peer Support Workers and volunteers across BLMK.

The role will also involve the assessment and processing of new referrals and leading and supporting on more complex cases that may require intervention for suitability. The success candidate will work with the Lived Experience Operational Services Manager to ensure that the Peer Support service consistently provides quality support for service users and is managed effectively in line with KPI’s.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Peer Support service including peer support groups and mentoring across localities in Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough and Milton Keynes and ensure outcomes which supports individuals with mental health and wellbeing needs in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed Peer Support model and requirements as well as contract requirements.
• Carry out assessments on individuals’ suitability for Mind BLMK’s Peer Support service in line with the Access to Service procedure.
• Work with the Lived Experience Operational Services Manager to ensure regular involvement of service users, volunteers and staff on local service delivery, organisational matters and wider mental health strategies.
• Provide cover and support for Peer Support groups and mentor facilitator in line with service needs.
• Spend time regularly in each location, ensuring best practice is in place across all aspects of the service, from assessment & delivery to data input & reporting.
• Work with the Lived Experience Operational Services Manager to support a team who bring their Lived Experience of mental health to their roles, keeping an up to date understanding of working with and managing those with Lived Experience.
• Maintain an effective workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (recruitment, line management, workload planning, support and development of Peer Support Coordinator, Workers, Mentor Facilitator and volunteers).
• Provide the infrastructure Peer Support Workers need to deliver the support safely and confidently, including identifying and implementing opportunities for upskilling, progression and training.

Prostate Cancer Research exists to honour the men and families who have been through things no family should have to go through, and to work for a future where no one needs to fear a prostate cancer diagnosis.

Giving them the information they need to make better choices about their treatment, while working to identify and target specific unmet needs in the prostate cancer ecosystem, such as racial inequality and bone metastasis.

It’s been a successful couple of years for PCR’s Events & Community team with good results across the portfolio, raising over £1.4m (against a target of £800k) in 2023-24. Now’s an exciting time as we’ve recently expanded the team, whilst refreshing our structure and roles to make priorities clear and ensure the whole team can do their best work – contributing to PCR’s lifesaving mission, developing in their careers and enjoying their jobs within our ambitious and supportive team. 

We are now recruiting for a new Events & Community Executive to join the frontline of our fundraising stewardship, so strong relationship-building skills and a love of creating great supporter experiences are essential. A big part of this role is project managing PCR’s fundraising activities, including virtual and third-party challenges. This requires a proactive approach, an eagerness to learn and a readiness to get stuck in with a positive attitude, as well as some experience of leading a project yourself in the past. You will work closely with the Virtual & Challenge Events Manager, existing Events & Community Officer/ Executives, and the whole team – sharing best practice, learnings and supporting each other to reach and exceed our shared goals. 

This role will focus on virtual & challenge events activities but will get exposure to the full range of our events & community fundraising portfolio for your development and interest – and you will receive the training and support needed to succeed!

Key Responsibilities

Event management and delivery  

• Lead the delivery of the fundraising activities you are working on, keeping an eye on objectives, budgets and the bigger picture to ensure that opportunities to improve and maximise fundraising are seized. 

• Create and follow action plans for your projects, taking responsibility for processes and delivery of tasks on time. 

• Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and third-party organisations.

• Ensure all fundraising activities promote PCR’s brand and have a strong connection to people with prostate cancer. 

• With the support of the team, analyse results based on KPIs & feedback, and proactively suggest changes & improvements. 

Stewardship 

• Lead on delivering PCR’s supporter journeys for your projects, providing a high level of stewardship with an understanding of the connection between engagement and the income & awareness raised for PCR. 

• Lead on relationship management as required for the fundraising activities you are working on. 

• Carry out regular stewardship tasks including content delivery, the management of stewardship tools (e.g. Mailchimp, GivePanel & Kudosity) and responding to supporter queries via all channels. Plenty of training on tools will be provided! 

• Collaborate with the team on the upkeep of supporter journeys, using feedback & data to spot opportunities for constant improvement of fundraisers’ experience with PCR and motivating them to raise more and remain loyal supporters. 

Marketing and Recruitment  

• Work with the Events team managers and external marketing consultants to create effective marketing plans and lead on their implementation, making best efforts to hit acquisition targets for the fundraising activities you are working on. 

• Create & deliver marketing plans and assets which are tailored by a good understanding of our existing & target audiences. 

• With the support of team managers, track and analyse marketing performance to proactively suggest improvements. 

Administration and Database  

• Manage stock fulfilment, sending merchandise to supporters and replenishing materials as required, ensuring high quality, good value and an appropriate & creative application of PCR’s brand. 

• Carry out participant data processing, income processing and budget management tasks as required, including coding, database administration, paying invoices and tracking income & expenditure in logs. 

• Ensure your fundraising activities are delivered in line with fundraising law & regulations and PCR’s policies.

• Take an active role in training & webinars to improve your knowledge of the database and compliance requirements.

Strategy and Development 

• Always have an eye on new opportunities and ideas to inject into your projects, taking a test & learn approach. 

• Contribute to team strategy and budgeting work, working with Events team managers to create exciting plans.

• Lead on relevant projects to improve the Events team’s infrastructure, stewardship, content, processes & compliance. 

• Be proactive in your personal development and look for opportunities to learn – with lots of support from your manager! 

Teamwork 

• Actively contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team.

• Work with the team to embed our agile ways of working, where we all take collective responsibility for the team’s goals.

• Plan with the team to be flexible in busy times, working together to meet planning and stewardship requirements, and sometimes getting involved with other projects and tasks across the Public Fundraising team. 

• Attendance will be required at some weekend and evening events, for which TOIL will be given.

Skills and Competencies 

Our ideal candidate would be a keen learner and a great team player, with: 

• Great project management skills gained from prior experience of owning & leading a project yourself, and an eagerness to develop into a more autonomous project manager. 

• A willingness to get stuck in, a proactive attitude and lots of initiative. 

• An understanding of the importance of good supporter/customer care, and how to provide this in a fundraising context. 

• A good understanding of and interest in events & community/ peer-to-peer fundraising activities.

We are searching for a Peer Support Worker to join our mental health services. The role is a peer support worker, who use own lived experience of mental health difficulties to support others on their recovery journey through the facilitation of group based, peer support.

Our peer support and recovery services are a key element of the services we offer, and we are looking for someone who can use their own lived experiences to provide support to help individuals achieve their goals.

Service Delivery

• Facilitate Peer Support groups and ensure outcomes which support individuals
• with mental health and wellbeing needs across Luton in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed peer support model and service’s KPIs and contract requirements.

The Senior Youth and Play Worker will play a pivotal role in the Children, Young People and Families team, working as the senior practitioner and ensuring the smooth running of all our programmes and services. In this role you will be part of a small and dynamic team which delivers a wide range of programmes and activities, both from our adventure playground and within local schools.

The work of the Children, Young People and Families team is diverse, and current services include open access free play and youth activities at our adventure playground, school holiday programmes with trips and activities outside of the playground, coaching in local schools, our Young Leaders programme offering paid work experience to young people and working with our youth partnerships Building Young Brixton and Lambeth Peer Action Collective. You will ensure these services are appropriately scheduled, monitored and reported on whilst working with the Head of Children, Young People and Families to plan and deliver service improvement. You will understand the wide-ranging challenges facing young people and will be flexible in adjusting your practice to meet these needs.

To be successful in this role, you will act as the senior practitioner in all our service delivery, advocating for children’s right to play throughout our programmes. This is a really exciting time to join the gambling support sector, we are at the forefront of providing new and innovative services, supporting gamblers, affected others and organisations in different communities and sectors.

We are seeking one candidate, who has proven experience of delivering support and training services for vulnerable adults, such as in the mental health or addiction sectors. Experience either serving in the military or working with Veterans is important for this role. The Armed Forces Peer Aid Co-ordinator will supervise and work with voluntary Peer Supporters, ensuring a safe and effective network of support is established.

The post holder will work alongside the Head of Peer Support services to oversee recruitment and training of Peer Supporters, assess for additional support needs and personal development goals, and ensure that they are adequately prepared and trained for the role. Thereafter, the Peer Aid Co-ordinator will manage cohorts of Peer Supporters and monitor and evaluate their engagement with referred service users. This will include helping to provide additional services, such as group meetings and meet ups.

Main responsibilities: 

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to develop and deliver impactful and engaging campaigns into the political sphere with a view to seeing policy and practice changes that will benefit Embrace’s partners and the communities they serve.
• Project manage the delivery of Embrace’s advocacy campaigns strategy for justice and inclusion in the Middle East.
• Work with the Partnership Managers and Church Engagement Team to maintain a nuanced and well-informed understanding of relevant policy, political, theological, church-related and development issues in the region and in the UK.
• Represent Embrace and build strong relationships with advocacy personnel within our Partners and wider sector groups.
• Support the Charity in every way possible to fulfil its vision and charitable aims.

Suitable candidates will possess substantial experience in policy development and engagement within the political system, demonstrating a proven ability to mobilise UK Christians for advocacy and change. You will have project management expertise, particularly in crafting and launching advocacy initiatives aimed at influencing key stakeholders and institutions, with a focus on establishing clear campaign objectives and ensuring timely, budget-compliant delivery of campaign activities.

In the context of this role, a strong theological insight into regional issues is essential, enabling the candidate to navigate the interplay between political and theological matters when collaborating with churches. The role:

The British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA), based near Gloucester with hybrid working, has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Volunteers Manager to lead a progressive and inclusive volunteer culture within BSAVA. Great support has a substantial impact on small environmental charities and the people they benefit. This role will see you support an established, enjoyable, professional development programme for city farms, community gardens and care farms. In London you'll focus on training and showcase events, and nationwide you'll lead on helping organisations achieve the Green Care Quality Mark. The role will suit someone creative, methodical and comfortable with people. The role involves getting out and about, but most of the work is office work. This role does not include any practical gardening or farming activities.

Hours: Full time days (37.5 hours) per week. Or four days a week (30 hours) if preferred.

Salary: Starting salary of £31,580 including London Weighting.

Pension: 5% of salary for standard contracted hours after successful completion of a 3-month probation period.

Holiday:  33 days annual leave per year including bank holidays.

Contract: 12 months, subject to passing the three-month probation period. Possibility of an extension.

a) London Development - 3 days a week -
To support the delivery and co-ordination of a programme of targeted training and capacity-building for city farms and community gardens in London to improve their long-term viability, thereby contributing to the sustainability of vibrant local communities throughout the capital. This is a well-established, popular enjoyable programme and you would work closely with the London Development Manager, and SF&Gs members. Annual outputs include:  

· Training days designed and delivered by SF&G members

· Networking tours of community growing spaces

· Showcase events including the London Harvest Festival

b) Green Care Quality Mark (GCQM) Administration - 1.5 days a week
To support the UK-Wide GCQM programme liaising with our panel of Assessors, assigning applications for review and inputting data into our ‘Civi’ CRM.

The programme helps green care practitioners such as care farms demonstrate to clients, funders, commissioners, referrers and volunteers that they operate a safe, professional and caring place to be. 

The post holder will be responsible for administration and promotion of the GCQM, and supported by managers to retain participants of the scheme, attract new enrolments, and increase the associated earned income for SF&G.

c) SF&G Membership Support.
A half day a week will be dedicated to supporting SF&Gs UK- wide membership programme through social media, newsletters and database management.

We are looking for a Research and Evaluation Manager to join the Work Action Area team at the Centre for Ageing Better.

We are a friendly, passionate, multi-disciplinary team of 11 people working to create fair access to work for people in their 50s and 60s. We run the Age-friendly Employer Pledge, pilot projects to test out new models of employment support and undertake high-level policy analysis and influencing.

The Research and Evaluation Manager is core to this work. You will be the research lead in the team – managing the research and evaluation activity that generates the strong evidence base we are known for.

About you

We would like someone who has been involved in the nitty gritty of evaluation research, balancing an interest in the technical sides of answering evaluation questions with an awareness of the practical challenges of doing so. It would be great if you had experience on the research commissioning side, but you could still have the right skills if you have only worked within a contracted research team.

We would like you to have good experience of qualitative research and secondary research. You need to be comfortable with numbers and basic data analysis, but you don’t need to be a quantitative specialist (as we have one of those).

We want you to have some experience working on policy-oriented research and developing policy recommendations. You need to be motivated by change, as well as understanding the problem. You will be a line manager in this role. Line management experience is a desirable attribute – but it is essential you can demonstrate that you have supported other people to deliver their work.

The newly-created role of Digital Content & Campaigns Manager will sit within the National Communications Team to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives.

As part of our mission to empower people affected by homelessness and poverty, the role will work to harness the potential of multimedia content to demonstrate the breadth of our activities and impact, but also raise the voices of people who have experienced homelessness
