What you will be doing

• Maintaining and reconciling local bank accounts and recording transactions and authorised payments.
• Providing and present reports to the branch committee and to SSAFA’s central office.
• Maintaining accurate records using our on-line finance management system.
• Preparing year end accounts and financial statements including arranging an independent review.

• Some experience of financial administration
• Great written and verbal communication skills

YMCA Dialogue is a BACP Accredited service, providing counselling services in schools since 1994. Dialogue has built an excellent reputation with schools, professionals and commissioners and the service has developed and expanded over the years, now operating across Brighton & Hove, East and West Sussex and Surrey. We require all our counsellors to abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. All counsellors are expected to be a member of the BACP (or student member if training), or other appropriate professional body (e.g. UKCP).

We are looking for two qualified counsellors, one for each of the below schools: 

College of Richard Collyer Horsham, West Sussex

As a Volunteer Counsellor you will provide a high standard of clinical counselling provision to children and young people within a school or community setting.

In this role you will see up to three clients a week in their designated school setting (that is, three clients a week as allocated by the Dialogue Counsellor in the school).

Top Responsibilities

• Work within all YMCA DLG policies and procedures at all times and to abide by the Code of Conduct.
• Follow YMCA Dialogue Safeguarding Procedures
• Attend regular clinical supervision with a Dialogue designated supervisor.
• Always read the assessment before meeting a client for the first time.
• Keep suitable case records according to Dialogue policy and using the designated Dialogue systems, comply with legal and other requirements, ensuring that all project case records and files are maintained and securely held.
• Carry out administrative tasks associated with the counselling service; including monitoring and evaluation tools.
• Bring any concerns to the Dialogue School Counsellor and the School Project Manager, or Therapeutic Services Manager.

Top Criteria

• Counselling or Psychotherapy qualification, minimum Level 4.
• BACP Membership; Student, Registered or Accredited. Or other professional body e.g. UKCP
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Sound understanding of Child Protection & Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding issues, policies and procedures.

Commitment and Expectations

• In school/college placements to not take holiday during term time.
• Attend as many team meetings and CPD events as possible.
• Agree to a minimum time commitment of one full academic year in a School or College placement.
• Give a minimum of three months’ notice when wishing to leave the Service and to abide by the policy when leaving as set down in the Dialogue Guidelines.
• Complete all mandatory trainings within the first six months of volunteering. Safeguarding Children e-learnings Level 1 and 2 must be completed before seeing clients.
• Attendance on the Safeguarding Policy into Practice workshop within three months of starting.

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

St John Ambulance needs YOU! We have amazing cadet units in Staffordshire, Shropshire & Wolverhampton that are ready to expand and open to more young people in our area and we need volunteers like you!

Being a youth leader is an amazing opportunity for adults aged 18+ to teach valuable lifesaving skills to young people aged 10 – 17 in your area! Volunteering at least two hours per week could make a massive difference to these cadets now and have a real impact on your community.

But it's not all about what you'll give - you will learn a lot too!

As the cadets develop, so will you. You’ll gain communication, listening and presentation skills and grow in confidence. You’ll also have the chance to learn First Aid and take on more advanced roles with training, all while being fully supported by the rest of your team.

Under your leadership, young volunteers will develop their potential, they will learn vital first-aid skills that they can deliver at events and activities around the community. They will gain confidence, make friends and engage in community and social change.

Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a community impact? Children with Voices is looking for a Volunteer Events Coordinator to support the planning and execution of events that benefit young people and families. Your duties will include:

- Assisting with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of events and activities.

- Coordinating logistics such as venue bookings, equipment, and materials.

- Communicating with volunteers, partners, and stakeholders to coordinate schedules and responsibilities.

- Providing administrative support, including data entry, filing, and preparing documents.

- Assisting with volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision as needed.

- Collaborating with team members to ensure events are delivered on time and within budget.

While previous coordination experience would be helpful, it's not essential. What matters most is your willingness to learn, strong organisational skills, and commitment to our mission of empowering young people and families in need.

Befriending Volunteer

You can make a difference…Age UK Wandsworth is a small, local, independent charity that has been working with older people in the area since 1963. We rely on your support to keep serving the older residents with in the Wamdsworth community. We have a dedicated team of experienced staff and a large network of dedicated local volunteers. Our aim is to enable everyone to age well in Wandsworth. We would love your help to be able to continue to support older Wandsworth residents.

Our Be-a-Friend service is one of our longest running services, matching people over 65, who live alone and have limited social contact, with a friendly local volunteer with similar hobbies and interests. The volunteer and their new friend set up a suitable time for them to meet each week for a chat and a cup of tea, which could be during the day, in the evening on the way home from work or even on the weekends . If you would prefer to volunteer from home, you can also be matched with an older person for telephone befriending. For many of our matched pairs, this is the beginning of a firm friendship. 

Befriending Plus

Befriending Plus is an extended version of the Be-a-Friend programme, for individulas needing help with life admin and small tasks as well as companionship. For Befriending Plus pairs, time spent together can include helping to use a phone or tablet, helping the client to organise their file, going out for a coffee or popping to the post office together. This support can help older people to stay independent at home for longer, as well as increasing their confidence to do these tasks when the volunteer is not there.

What will you be doing?

The Chair leads the Board of Trustees, ensuring that it governs the charity effectively in service of its vision and values. The Chair leads inclusively, supporting the Board’s work and providing support and challenge to the Chief Executive. The Chair is also an ambassador and figurehead for Ardgowan Hospice.

What are we looking for?

It’s essential for you to:

• Be familiar with local health and social care networks, and have knowledge of the HSCP/health care environment.
• Have Trustee or Chair experience, but this is not essential.
