About the Role
The primary focus of the Grants Officer is to support schools and youth organisations to operate the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme effectively and to promote, grow and deliver this and other JPF grant programmes across London and Essex. Although the geographical remit of each Grants officer can change on occasion, it is anticipated that this role will be responsible for the London Boroughs across North West and South West London, plus uniform youth groups who deliver their activities cross-borough.
The Achievement Award scheme is JPF’s flagship programme, with almost 2000 schemes in over 1400 schools, colleges and youth organisations across London and Essex. Through the programme, we invest millions of pounds each year to support young people and youth work. This is an amazing chance for you to have a big impact. The post holder will manage delivery of the scheme and associated small grants in an assigned area of London and/or Essex. They will be responsible for maintaining positive relationships with schools and youth organisations in a dedicated area of London or Essex. The role will involve significant travel to visit schools and youth organisations, as well as outreach and community engagement work to identify and support new groups to apply to join our small grants schemes. This work will also include evenings and occasional weekend work, especially to support our Achievement Award celebration events.
The successful candidate would therefore be someone who has flexibility to travel, work out-of-office hours, enjoys building local relationships and public speaking, as well as navigating a busy grants and assessment caseload (desk-based processing, telephone calls/emails, and regular use of a database). It could be a great role for someone living in North West or South West London.

• To ensure that accurate data is recorded on all JPF systems.
• To support programme growth, impact and reach by building stakeholder relationships in your assigned local area.
• To assess new applications and monitor the impact of the Achievement Award Grants we make in your assigned local area. • To work with your colleagues in the Grants Team to deliver excellent grant making and relationships with Jack Petchey Foundation beneficiaries.

You will possess an eye for detail, good administration skills and the ability to communicate confidently and present a positive external profile for the charity. This is a busy and satisfying role, with each Grants Officer leading relationships with between 350-400 organisations.
Evening and weekend work is a requirement to meet the demands of this role, which on occasion can require up to 2-3 evenings in one week, depending on the event schedule. Time off in lieu will be granted for additional hours worked.

Main Areas of Responsibility
1. To develop, manage and promote the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme and other JPF opportunities.
1.1. Identify schools and youth organisations not currently running the scheme and proactively promote the Achievement Award (AA) scheme to them, following up as required.
1.2 Receive, assess and process all grant applications to join the AA scheme, in accordance with JPF policies and procedures.
1.3 Attend, participate and assist with delivery of Achievement Award celebration events (usually evenings), including making a speech to congratulate the young people.
2. Quality Assurance for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme
2.1 Support schools and youth organisations on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award (AA) scheme to operate the scheme to the highest possible standard.
2.2 Implement a programme of face-to-face and digital monitoring visits to schools and youth organisations in your area on the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme, to ensure that JPF funding is well spent and to identify opportunities to improve delivery.
2.3 Provide timely support to organisations so they are able to run the AA scheme effectively.
2.4 Organise and deliver digital and in-person events to support schools and youth organisations to operate the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme effectively.
3. To administer the Jack Petchey Foundation grant making process
3.1 Ensure accurate records are kept on the Foundation’s database (Salesforce), including up-to-date contact details and records of communication with groups in receipt of or applying for grants.
3.2 Approve/authorise payment of AA grants and related programmes in accordance with JPF policies.
3.3 Ensure appropriate grant reporting by schools and youth organisations and negotiate return of funds where a grant has not been used in accordance with conditions.
3.4 Proactively manage risk, being alert to potential fraud.
3.5 Ensure that clubs and groups receive all necessary materials to operate the Achievement Award scheme effectively. 3.6 Assess and approve Leader Award Grant, Educational Visit Grant and Environmental Grant applications in accordance with JPF policy.
3.7 Provide regular reports on the work for the Head of Grants Team, Chief Executive Officer and the JPF Board as required.
4. To promote the wider work of the Jack Petchey Foundation to schools and youth groups
4.1 Identify case studies and other stories and material that can be used for JPF communications, supporting communications team colleagues to raise awareness of our opportunities and impact.
4.2 Represent JPF at digital and physical events, local networks, funders’ fairs, and community or young people’s forums to help promote JPF’s small grant programmes and other opportunities.
4.3 Support and promote JPF’s partnership programmes, for example the Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge, Step into Dance, Panathlon and First Give.
4.4 Contribute to the review of any small grant programmes as requested by the Head of Grants Team.
4.5 Assist with digital and face-to-face monitoring and reporting in relation to groups that have received a JPF Project Grant or other JPF funding.
5 Other Responsibilities
5.1 Actively contribute to Grants and JPF Team meetings.
5.2 Take a lead on specific projects as agreed within the Grants Team.
5.3 Contribute to the assessment of other grant programmes as requested by the Head of Grants Team.
5.4 Provide telephone/email support and advice about JPF funding streams to existing grantees or potential applicants.
5.5 Work at all times within the policies, procedures and values of the Jack Petchey Foundation, in particular safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies.
These are the normal duties requires of the position. However, it is important that all staff are prepared to be flexible as they will be required from time to time to perform other duties.
The post holder will work as part of the wider team from the Jack Petchey Foundation headquarters in Canary Wharf with some home working possible within the framework of the JPF Hybrid Working Policy. You will be required to travel to attend visits, events and meetings, including at weekends and in the evenings. Some travel across London more widely may be required on occasion to support uniform youth groups in your portfolio who deliver their duties cross-borough around your assigned areas.

About the role

Re-engage is a charity that is positive about older age and committed to fighting loneliness so that people can have social lives and friendship groups however old they are. We inspire and enable meaningful connections and shared experiences within communities across the UK for people over 75 facing loneliness and social isolation.
We are looking for a Head of Fundraising and Partnerships to join Re-engage. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will oversee the charity’s fundraising teams with responsibility for the whole range of fundraised income, as well as developing and supporting partnerships across the organisation.
With our ambition to grow over the next five years, this role will be critical to the success of Re-engage and our ability to reach more older people and reduce more loneliness.

Person Specification
- Significant experience in a fundraising role with demonstrable achievements in at least two fundraising disciplines including major donors, corporate partnerships, community fundraising, direct mail, legacies and trust fundraising
- Experience creating income products and packages from the needs of our beneficiaries
- Experience approaching and securing funding from a wide range of public funders, trusts and foundations, private and public sector organisations
- Experience managing and stewarding a varied portfolio of supporters whilst developing new prospects
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to nurture and develop junior talent into high performing fundraisers
- Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- A track record of growing fundraised income
- Proven ability to establish and maintain income forecasting systems and manage budgets

As Head of External Communications and Engagement, you will be a key part of a talented and ambitious Communications and Engagement Team. The Communications Team sits within the Marketing and Communications (MarComms) Directorate which builds brand awareness and engagement among the public, builds our profile with the media and key stakeholders, and supports fundraising activities to generate income to keep the service running. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver targeted, engaging and impactful communications to support the successful delivery of KSS’s strategic objectives
- Play a lead role, in collaboration with colleagues in the Income Generation and Marcomms Team, in delivering successful integrated campaigns and support income generation activity including generating key messaging and communications
- Work with the team to develop and deliver our PR and Communications strategy, ensuring excellence in all our activity with consistent brand identity, key messaging, and tone of voice to maximise all opportunities.
- Ensure all other teams are confident and equipped in communicating our brand identity, key messages and tone of voice, and support teams in maximising the impact of their communications
- Lead our in-house press office, supporting an increase in media coverage across print, online and broadcast both locally and nationally. Be able to work to a strategic plan as well as have the flair to spot a story and other PR opportunities to further engage our audiences in our lifesaving work.

Key Responsibilities
- Project management of direct marketing integrated campaigns across online and offline channels from project initiation, through segmentation, data/media specification, creative approach, production, fulfilment to results analysis, ensuring income and expenditure targets are met.
- Ongoing management and review of external suppliers and marketing agencies to ensure activity takes place on schedule and within budget.
- Strategic planning and donor development. Close involvement in developing long term direct marketing strategies for priority audiences.
- Integration of Fundraising and External Affairs’ activities and objectives
- Ensures all activity is run in line with best practice and compliance.
- Works with the Senior Direct Marketing Officers and Head of Individual Giving to develop and deliver the individual giving strategy for priority audiences.
- Undertake database analysis, to inform and improve the direct marketing programme.

We are seeking to appoint a Money Advice Case Worker with extensive experience of welfare benefits, debt advice and the relief of poverty. Holding an IMA (Institute of Money Advisers’) qualification or recent GGDA (Giving Good Debt Advice) training will be essential.
We need to appoint someone who will understand and work with the clients who access our services, who are often vulnerable with multiple and complex needs and who will also work well as part of the team. Based in Castle Vale our clients are from the Castle Vale Ward and the North East of Birmingham with some clients coming from the wider Birmingham area. Key Job purpose/Core Duties:
a) The delivery to AQS standard of the core Money Advice (benefit and debt casework) Service. This may be via telephone, MS Teams, email or face to face.
b) The provision of advocacy and court representation at tribunals or other statutory bodies as appropriate.
c) Taking client instructions; this may include, but is not limited to; drafting letters/emails to the client and third parties, preparing financial statements and negotiating with third parties.
d) Ensuring income maximisation through the take up of appropriate welfare benefits.
e) The support, with other team members/volunteers, of the delivery of the service on an outreach basis if required.
f) Working to targets to ensure that we meet all our contractual obligations.
g) Managing own caseload, opening and closing cases appropriately and carrying out reviews as required by AQS and the Head of Advice.
h) Maintain accurate case and client records using our digital case management system and for purpose of continuity of client casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and reporting preparation to AQS standards.
i) Ensuring that all casework meets AQS standards and complies with Money Advice Team Procedural Manual.
j) The maintenance of records and other data ensuring that it is up to date and accurate; either paper records (as required by Tribunal cases) or on our digital casework management system.

- Service Desk: This team are the first point of contact for anybody needing our support. They receive, record, respond and resolve approximately 12,000 enquiries a year.

The post holder will be fully involved in all aspects of the day-to-day management of their designated service, including line managing the relevant front-line staff. nasen is the National Association for Special Educational Needs – a charitable organisation that exists to support and champion those working with, and for, children and young people with SEND and learning differences.
We seek to ensure that all education practitioners across early years, schools, post-16 and wider settings are equipped to understand, identify and support those with SEND and learning differences, and provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD), resources, advice, information and much more to enable all staff to meet the needs of all their learners.
nasen brings organisations together, whether locally or nationally, to share practice, shape solutions. Our priorities are those that matter to the education and SEND sector, drawing on our direct engagement with practitioners, school leaders, SENCOs, local authorities and hearing from the lived experience of children and young people.
Our work spans the delivery of international programmes of support through to direct, ‘on the ground’ engagement with schools and settings.
About the role

As a not-for-profit organisation, developing new relationships and raising new income to do what matters is important to us. The Head of Fundraising role involves working alongside operational teams, co-creating responses to tender opportunities, leading the bidding process and pitching to funders about why nasen is the provider of choice. It’s about meeting people and organisations, forming partnerships and ensuring our offer is strategically relevant.
You will be an essential and valued member of the Senior Leadership Team, helping us in our mission to create an inclusive and equitable education for all, reporting to the Executive Leadership team and the CEO whilst working with talented education professionals and our marketing team.
You will line manage a Development and Income Generation Officer.
