Make a difference for children now and for their future

We’re looking for someone to work with schools across Lewisham to improve the education and health potential of Young Carers. You’ll work alongside our wider team supporting Unpaid Carers across the borough.

You’ll develop relationships with schools and school staff, raising awareness and supporting the identification of Young Carers within education settings, and supporting the development of policy, guidance and resources. You’ll work one-to-one and with groups of Young Carers, and carry out home-based visits to offer support interventions.  

As a Young Carers Schools Coordinator, you will also support the planning and delivery of the service’s activity package, including respite activities, online groups and face-to-face sessions.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with children, young people, and families in social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Young Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. This is a dynamic service, providing bespoke interventions to a small group of six to eight Looked After Children aged 16-21 years, to enable them to live in safety and stability, and have a place to call home.

The Specialist Support Worker will be responsible for delivering direct support to a small group of young people with complex needs. The young people will live in the community and the HFFY service will provide 24/7 support to ensure their safety, promote their stability, and build resilience to enable them to manage their tenancy.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual for the role of Lead Youth and Sport Activity Worker who understands and believes in the value that youth work, sport and positive activities can add to people and their communities.

You will play a crucial role in the implementation of Active Communities Network’s (ACN) delivery strategy. Role Purpose

The main purposes of the Head of Curriculum and Growth role are:

• Overseeing the design and maintenance of consistently high-quality workshops and resources (Tender’s curriculum) across all programmes, incorporating drama and the arts and appropriate subject matter expertise

Curriculum and quality assurance

• Overseeing the development and introduction of all new content in Tender’s curriculum, working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure secondary research, beneficiary need, subject matter expertise and beneficiary voice (in particular, youth voice) is appropriately incorporated and content is evidence-based
• Developing, reviewing, updating and implementing Tender’s quality assurance framework to ensure Tender’s curriculum remains of a consistently high quality
• Overseeing the regular review of existing curriculum to ensure content remains internally consistent across Tender, up to date and incorporates new information and best practice teaching methods
• Working in collaboration with the Research & Impact Manager, ensuring relevant primary and secondary research and learnings from Tender’s programmes are incorporated into Tender’s curriculum to maximise the impact of Tender’s programmes
• Championing excellence in the design and delivery of Tender’s curriculum across the organisation, including building strong relationships with other Heads of Departments and Programme Managers

Workshop leader oversight

• Working in collaboration with the Head of Schools & Youth Settings and Head of Adult Services, identifying gaps in workshop leader pools and overseeing the timely recruitment of a sufficient number of workshop leaders across all regions to deliver all planned projects
• Developing and implementing a consistent and robust workshop leader induction plan for all new facilitators
• Developing and implementing an ongoing training and development plan for workshop leaders to ensure consistently high quality and current standards of delivery to all beneficiary groups, and ensuring any gaps in existing skills and knowledge are addressed

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

• To support residents to maintain and continue their recovery from drug and/or alcohol problems.
• To support residents to engage in positive activities (volunteering, work or education) to underpin their recovery.
• To manage the maintenance, upkeep, and management of all properties.

Main Outcomes

Residents remain substance free and in recovery. 

• Overseeing incoming referrals to obtain new residents.
• Undertaking drug and alcohol testing.
• Providing advice/signpost residents to additional recovery support and other issues such as housing, health, benefits, and finance.
• Assisting residents in times of crisis, offering them advice and support as appropriate.
• Developing the quality and effectiveness of the service, including utilising service user feedback.
• Attending training as appropriate and/or necessary.

Residents follow care plans and comply with licence agreements so that they grow in self-worth, self-confidence, and resilience. 

• Undertake weekly keywork sessions, tracking individualised goals as agreed on care plan.
• Co-facilitating groupwork.
• Monitoring the adherence to property and programme rules and helping to develop a healthy resident community.
• Keeping care plans and files up to date.
• Offering a high level of care and support to all, always maintaining appropriate professional conduct and boundaries.

The properties are kept to a high standard of repair and meet all legal and Landlord requirements.

• Through key working residents and regular visits and checks. Identify issues that would need resolving with the properties.
• Maintain relationships with Landlords to address their needs and repairs required.

• Full Time (40 hours) per week, 12 month contract with a view to be made permanent.

We're looking for someone who is excited about supporting community fundraisers across the UK to raise funds for us. You'll have the skills and interest in creating and delivering our own events and community fundraising activities. You'll build relationships with our supporters, developing our presence and support within the communities we serve to raise income.

You'll take the lead on delivering the strategy and operational plans for community fundraising, individual giving and supporter stewardship. The role provides varied opportunities to learn and develop within these areas, and will suit someone who is either new to the fundraising sector or who is looking to progress from fundraising assistant level. You'll need to bring a passion for building relationships, and delivering excellent supporter care. 

You'll be part of a small team of dedicated colleagues working across different fundraising specialisms whilst collaborating to reach our goals, and a key part of an organisation of people who are all inspired by the difference we can make.

Role Summary

The workforce officer is essential to develop the skills within organisations to both provide accessible physical activity options to the community and create safe, welcoming, and sustainable environments.

This role will increase capacity, enhance capabilities and equip clubs and community organisations to enable them to be equitable and resilient. It is not about delivering training! It will develop pathways that change the face of our local workforce; all sections of the community should feel they are visible across the physical activity and sport sector from volunteers to session leaders to trustees and directors.

This is not a desk-based role, you will be out and about visiting clubs, organisations, and people to hear their stories and help them create change locally.

2. Organisations are accessible for people from a diverse range of communities, both to participate but also to work or volunteer.
3. Organisations are sustainable and have the skills to develop and adapt their offer in line with community needs.
4. Sports clubs and frontline community organisations have the skills and the knowledge (tools) to apply for/access funding and can run themselves effectively to develop their offer.
5.  In the communities where we work, no one feels intimidated to go into the club/organisation they want to be active in – clubs and organisations are welcoming and take ownership of their responsibility to be inclusive.
6. There are pathways and opportunities for people with lived experience/from excluded communities to deliver/run/facilitate local opportunities within and for local communities.
7.  The local sport and physical activity delivery system is reflective of the people that live in that locality.

About LSESU

We are an independent, registered charity dedicated to helping LSE students make the most of their time at University. We are governed and managed separately from the University but work closely with them to help deliver the best for our students.

We’ve been part of LSE since 1897, and all LSE students automatically become LSESU members when they enrol. Our total income is c.£4.2m per year, which comes partly from a block grant from the University, and partly from commercial activities which generate extra revenue.

Job Purpose

The Director of Commercial and Union Operations is responsible for the strategic direction and effective operational management of the commercial services and facilities which includes venues, bars, catering, events, and the fitness centre.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership team, the Director of Commercial Union Operations will lead the development of commercial services to deliver exceptional services to our customers and members that maximises profitability.
