I’m looking to speak to a communications and PR/ media professional with experience working for an international development animal charity, looking to join an advocacy led charity as Head of Communications and Campaigns. In this remote based role (with ad-hoc travel to London), you will pro-actively develop and drive work to generate PR coverage and awareness for the charity, and ensure working animals are represented in the global news agenda.

You will also represent global influencing and advocacy agenda externally, and you will manage the development of the charity’s content and stakeholder communications, including publications, films and digital media.

The Head of Communications and Campaigns manages the Communications and Campaigns team, which is part of the Global Fundraising, Marketing and Communications department. Experience at an international development and/ or animal welfare charity is essential, as well as line management experience.

• Salary £50,000+. 26 days annual leave, increasing after 2 years of service.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the People and Organisational Development (POD) team based in the charity’s head office. Our city centre hub has been recently refurbished and you will be working in a friendly, supportive, environment in a role where you can enjoy professional contact with colleagues at all levels. This is a varied role providing support in the day to day running of the Bristol Hub and performing an Executive Assistant function, delivering high quality and confidential support to the Executive Director (ED), with duties such as diary and email management, administration of the ED travel and expenses and other duties.

About you

You should have experience providing high quality, proactive PA support to senior leaders, including high-level decision-making groups, through effective administration. This will include dealing with confidential and sensitive information.

We also ask that you are experienced in office management systems and procedures including facility management and can demonstrate your knowledge of basic office health and safety.

You should be highly organised and have excellent administration skills, including the ability to make summary notes during meetings and a high level of competency using equipment and various software, showcasing your excellent attention to detail. Purpose of The role

Habitat GB is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Advocacy to lead our efforts in advocating for policy change within the UK government (in particular targeting the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office) to prioritise housing in international development. This pivotal role will play a crucial part in supporting Habitat for Humanity's global advocacy agenda which aims to promote equitable access to adequate housing worldwide, focusing on informal settlements in the Global South. The Head of Advocacy will be instrumental in building Habitat GB's profile and influence, establishing strong relationships and coalitions with stakeholders in the UK, identifying lobbying opportunities, providing strategic political insight, and ensuring systematic monitoring and analysis of the international development political landscape. · Delivery of Advocacy Strategy: Deliver activities to implement the advocacy strategy, working closely with Habitat GB’s senior leadership team and Habitat for Humanity's global advocacy team. Activities may include stakeholder engagement and coalition building, policy research and positioning, profile building, lobbying and political insight, and advocacy campaign, initiatives and events.

Prepare regular reports on advocacy outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for future action.

· Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate closely with Habitat for Humanity's global advocacy team especially on G7 related advocacy and implementation of the Home Equals campaign, other affiliates, and external partners to align advocacy efforts, share best practices, and coordinate actions for maximum effectiveness.

· Leadership and Management: Manage, motivate and mentor UK Housing Advocacy Manager, with regular 1-2-1s, setting individual objectives, giving and receiving feedback, progressing people and plans. Role model our values in line with Habitat GB’s inclusive approach to people and culture.

Person Specification

· Bachelor's degree in international relations, public policy, political science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

About the Role

We are looking for an EDI Committee Chair to provide direction to the organisation’s EDI-BIIDE Work and to lead the EDI-BIIDE Committee, ensuring alignment between the organisation’s EDI-BIIDE Action Plan and the organisation’s three-year strategy and resources.

You will ensure EDI-BIIDE is consolidated into all aspects of our work – for our members, our staff and, crucially, for the public with whom we and our members interact professionally. The EDI Committee Chair will lead with confidence and collaborate effectively across the organisation to champion the work of the Committee and be accountable to the Board of Trustees for delivery.

• In liaison with the EDI-BIIDE Committee, to review the organisation’s EDI-BIIDE work to date, and to devise a revised EDI-BIIDE Action Plan that aligns with the organisation’s three-year strategy and resources.
• Lead the EDI-BIIDE Committee and ensure the Committee’s business is conducted collaboratively and methodically and that the Committee takes decisions within its authorised powers (as delegated by the Board of Trustees).

• Attend events and other external events as required, acting as an ambassador for the organisation’s work on EDI-BIIDE.
• Report to the Board of Trustees on a quarterly basis on the Committee’s activities, highlighting achievements, and escalating risks and issues as appropriate.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• An extensive understanding of legal and social EDI-BIIDE matters (including the contextual, political, climatic and social changing landscapes, to advance equity for stakeholders, the public and UKCP). 
• Well-developed communication skills with attention to language meanings across different populations and audiences that promote equity, further collaboration, and uphold respect and dignity for all.
• Experience in embedding EDI-BIIDE principles and practices in an organisational context, understanding how to align EDI-BIIDE with wider business objectives, and working within resource constraints
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with experience working in an influential role and driving cultural changes for individuals, groups, communities, boards, training and teams.
• Proven success in leading and chairing a committee in similar environments

The Philanthropy Team structure is relatively new and there is considerable potential to develop the major donor and trust and foundation income streams.

This role will suit you if you are confident in proactively building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your highly developed verbal and written communication skills will help you research, create and submit compelling grant applications.

In this role, your strong admin skills will come into play when maintaining accurate, up-to-date records on the charity’s CRM system, and then reporting on this information. Right now, one of our partners, Aquarius Action Projects, is looking for a Practitioner to join their team. Solihull Integrated Addiction Service (SIAS) is a partnership between five organisations jointly responsible for the delivery of the drug, alcohol, homelessness and gambling services, in the Borough of Solihull. We offer services for adults who use or are affected by substance use, homelessness and gambling.

The aim of the outreach practitioner is to ensure that key services are available to those who need it most. Working in the community and office based setting, the role will include completing treatment assessments, home visits/outreach visits, prison visits, multi-agency working (with WMP, CMHT, GPs, probation and other supporting services). The role entails reaching out to hard to engage clients and supporting them to overcome the barriers they have to accessing treatment. Taking treatment into the community, the outreach practitioner will carry a caseload and provide intensive support to encourage people to try different approaches to engaging with support so offering home visit assessment, prison in reach visits on preparation for their release or meeting in a place of safety for example library or probation office. 

Alongside getting to know people in a non-judgemental setting and treating them with empathy we hope to help break the cycle of clients entering and leaving treatment without the right support, letting them know they have choices and support to achieve their goals. We will be introducing the SIAS service and all it has to offer and continued support from ourselves and partners that will help to build confidence, self-esteem and choice.

Your challenge? As a Practitioner you will be working specifically with clients to support the delivery of interventions and to empower change in individuals. You will support people through an outreach approach in addressing their substance needs.

We are looking for an energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse or housing and homeless field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. As well as good knowledge of alcohol/drug and health related issues, you're used to liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and comfortable engaging with clients in a variety of service delivery settings. What’s more, you have a flexible approach, a commitment to the principles of confidentiality and excellent record keeping and Microsoft Office.

Due to the nature of the role, a driving licence and access to a car is essential.

This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.
