We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Lincoln Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme at HMP Lincoln, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison-based. Better Cotton is seeking a Grants Accountant to support project teams with the financial management and administration of grants received from donors. You will be responsible for preparing financial reports for donors for grant-funded projects and will work closely with project teams to ensure those projects are delivered within budget and in accordance with the donors’ requirements.
The position sits within the Finance team and is supervised by the Grants Accounting Manager (based in London).

Responsibilities
Grants compliance
· Ensure compliance with donors’ financial requirements, rules and regulations, and internal
and external deadlines.
· Prepare accurate, timely financial reports as per donors’ requirements.
· Provide training, guidance and direction to Better Cotton staff and project partners to ensure compliance with those requirements.
· Work closely with the project teams to ensure that required procurement processes are followed.
· Coordinate project audits, liaise with auditors and project team, collate audit documentation, and respond to auditors’ queries.
· Follow-up on audit recommendations and corrective actions.
Financial management and accounting
· Monitor project expenditure in collaboration with project managers, addressing variances and mitigating actions.
· Maintain accurate accounts and allocation of expenditure, ensuring adequate supporting documents for all grant-funded expenditure.
· Prepare funding requests to donors and monitor grant income.
· Provide support and guidance to budget holders on monitoring the project budget and forecasting.
· Undertake project financial close out (including reconciliations).
· Allocate staff costs to grant-funded projects based on timesheets.
· Monitor, maintain and administer the timesheets application and data in SalesForce and FinancialForce (Certinia).
· Support with quarterly accounting for grants (e.g. recognising income, reviewing balance sheet codes).
General
· Support grant proposals, including budget development and financial review.
· Support with budgeting and forecasting for the organisational budget preparation and monitoring cycles.
· Provide support with year end processes and statutory audits.
· Undertake all other duties that may be determined by the line manager and that are compatible with the job description.
Profile
The selected candidate will have the following skills, knowledge, and experience:
Essential
· Recognised qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
· Excellent command of Excel and literacy in other Microsoft 365 apps (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· Bookkeeping and Accounting: experience in a finance support function
· Experience working with an ERP or accounting package
· Experience in financial reporting to donors
· Experience in preparing financial reports for budget holders and managers
· Experience in grants financial management and compliance with contracts (in particular with donors’ contracts)
· Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines, with strong organisational skills
· Close attention to detail and accuracy, with strong analytical skills
· Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with attentive listening abilities and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Working arrangements

We provide mentoring and peer support groups to people in Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea and the neighbouring boroughs.

JOB PURPOSE
Working with the Managing Director, you will support delivery of our fundraising and impact strategy, supporting us in identifying funding opportunities, submitting bids and ensuring reporting is completed. You will be responsible for maintaining all our communications channels, including social media, updating our website and creating copy and print materials for our programmes. You will help us to share our impact and tell the stories of the mentor and mentees. You will support us to use our data management system, Beacon, to track both our funding pipeline and commitments, as well as our programme impact data. You will analyse and use our data to tell stories that help us improve our work, expand our reach and increase our access to resources.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Funding
- Set up and manage funds on Beacon, our CRM system, tracking opportunities, applications, outcomes, reporting requirements and ensuring accurate record keeping.
- Support the delivery of our fundraising strategy, with specific focus on developing a portfolio of sustainable, multi-year grants, trusts and funds and service delivery contracts, while considering how we can expand individual giving, online fundraising and developing corporate relations.
- Income planning, including identifying, prioritising and scheduling funding opportunities.
- Liaising with programme teams to develop proposals for programme development, and gathering engaging information to demonstrate impact in reports.
- Supporting teams to manage monitoring and evaluation requirements for donor and internal purposes, developing and maintaining monitoring frameworks.
- Preparing and submitting proposals and tenders to donors, trusts and funds and government and local government contractors.
- Preparing and submitting timely donor reports in line with contractual requirements.
- Reviewing contracts and ensuring contract compliance.
Communications
- Attending monthly content planning meetings online
- Planning and developing content provided by Unfold staff and partners
- Sharing planned content for review and sign-off
- Keeping up to date with messages and followers on Unfold’s social media channels
- Keeping the team informed of updates on social media updates
- Design material for programme team to support with their work and outreach
- Create compelling stories from case studies and impact data
- Report every month on communications analysis so we can see trends on who is engaging with which platforms and to what type of contact.
- Build and develop our social media platforms with new brand and ensuring all communications meets the organisations brand guidelines.

Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

About the role
Solent Mind is a partner in the new Primary-Level Mental Health Service covering Eastleigh Southern Parishes PCN, comprising Hedge End Medical Centre, Blackthorn Surgery and Lowford Community Centre.
This service will enhance the mental health care and support that GP practices are able to offer their patients with a range of mental health issues through a collaborative and integrative approach across the three practices and associated services.

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus.
Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up a forth clinic in Redbridge. This role will report to the CEO of the charity and will work closely as part of the Senior Leadership team. The Director of Growth will have oversight of Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth within the charity. This will involve line management of the Fundraising Manager who oversees a small team including a Communications Officer (1.0FTE), Design and Campaigns Officer (0.6FTE) and Supporter Engagement Officer (0.6FTE). The charity has a vision to champion accessibility UK wide and to set up twenty clinics in partnership with local churches by 2030, there’s a current pipeline in progress to achieve this. As the charity grows we want to ensure that we have strong financial strategy and growth plans which enable us to achieve our vision. As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. The role will be based in King’s Cross with occasional events outside of the office. We envisage the focus of the role to be split with a 40% focus on income generation, 20% on Clinic Growth and 20% on brand, marketing and PR, all aspects of the role will include leadership and management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow, but will include:
Leadership and Management:
- Working as part of the Senior Leadership team to strategically support the running of the charity.
- Providing line management for the Fundraising Manager, Executive Assistant and other potential members of the team as the charity grows.
- Leading and participating in prayer and worship with the team in line with Growing Hope’s Christian values.
- Ownership of income raising of £710,000 for the national charity with a view to growth each year. In addition to this an income of approximately £100,000 for each local clinic and ensuring that income targets are met across the national and local charities.
Fundraising Strategy & Finance:
- Lead the development and execution of long-term financial plans in close alignment with the charity’s strategic goals from a Fundraising perspective.
- Reporting monthly to the Growing Hope senior team and trustee board on income, forecasts and plans to hit income targets.
- Manging the fundraising, marketing and communications budget lines.
- Oversee the process of forecasting and planning income for analysis of the leadership team and Board of Trustees.
- Support fundraising strategy development and long term planning for growth.
- Explore and implement strategies for ensuring best use of charitable funds, and maintaining financial sustainability.
- Explore and implement innovative strategies to ensure that Growing Hope are raising funds as effectively as possible at both a national and a local level.
Marketing and Communication:
- Overseeing and developing Marketing and Communication strategy across the charity, including PR development, socials and internal and external communications.
- Oversight of projects and campaigns running across Growing Hope.
- Promoting the Growing Hope brand both internally and externally.
- Developing strategies to support staff with understanding and working to the Growing Hope values.
- Oversight of marketing and advertising on behalf of the charity.
- Analysing key marketing performance metrics and using tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends to formulate actionable insights for the marketing team.

Clinic Growth:

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, an interest in additional needs and inclusion are highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL
This role has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in fundraising and strategically achieving income targets.
- Experience in marketing and communication.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a charity or non-profit setting.

Housing Support Worker – North West
Job type: Full Time, permanent

Nacro is a national Social Justice Charity with more than 50 years' experience of changing lives, building stronger communities, and working with stakeholders towards reducing crime.
Nacro deliver the Community Accommodation Support service (CAS) which is a national service across England and Wales. The service allows Courts to make greater use of bail by providing accommodation in the community with support for adult defendants who could not otherwise be bailed. CAS also provides support for adults released from Custody in the last three months of their sentence on Home Detention Curfew (HDC) and other Licence Orders.
The Team provides flexible and holistic support to Residents who have a wide range of support needs. We aim to support our Residents to find and keep a stable home at the end of their CAS-2 placement. You will manage a caseload of Residents and properties in your allocated area.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support clients to comply with the requirements of their HDC/Bail conditions.
- Producing a realistic and achievable Support Plan to include accessing and using housing and accommodation services to support move on to longer term accommodation.
- Ensure that all Support Plans and Risk Assessments are unique, inclusive and person-centred.
- Provide weekly support to Residents to engage with their support plan and contribute to the achievement of their objectives and aspirations.
- Support Residents to access Housing Benefit in the first instance to ensure that their tenancy is not put at risk with escalating rent arrears.
- Manage properties within your area of responsibility to ensure they are being maintained to Decent Homes Standard by reporting repairs, and replacing furniture and equipment are required.
- Undertake basic cleaning tasks as required.

- Plan and deliver effective, person-centred Support and Safety Plans
- Provide weekly support sessions (up to 2 hours per week) working with our Residents to achieve the goals identified on individual Support and Move On Plans.
- Maintain up to date individual Resident records.

- Complete referrals to specialist support agencies in the community as required.
- Liaise with Partner Agencies such as The Probation and Prison Services, Courts, and Police where necessary.

- Develop Move-on plans with Residents at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic options for their future home.
