We are looking for an External Affairs Officer to help us influence the new government and shape the news agenda. This is a really exciting time to join the team, with the new government and the intake of MPs bringing fresh opportunities for us to increase the impact with our influencing work.
This role will be at the centre of that work, combining press engagement and public affairs. It’s also an opportunity to lead our work to support experts by experience from our Research Community to have their voice heard in the media, at events and at Parliament.
We are also looking for someone who shares the values of the organisation, and who is passionate about our work to break the link between financial difficulty and mental health problems.
This is a diverse role combining press relations and public affairs. Key tasks and activities will include:

Developing press releases and media strategies to secure media coverage among key outlets for our research, campaigns and other projects

Producing briefings, letters and other materials to engage government ministers and other parliamentarians

Horizon-scanning to identify and act upon opportunities for us to have impact in the media and in Parliament

Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders journalists, parliamentarians and other policy makers
-
Supporting and empowering our Research Community members to share their experiences in the media, at events in other contexts
-
Writing comment pieces, blogs and other types of content to promote and disseminate our work

Producing key messaging, Q&As and briefings to brief colleagues ahead of media appearances and other public appearances

Monitoring media coverage and evaluate impact of PR activity

Taking part in out of hours media rota from time to time

Assisting with other communications tasks as required and contribute to the wider work of the Institute

Contributing to the operational success of the Institute by assisting the with administrative and organisational duties as necessary, including through supporting the work and professional development of junior team members
We are ideally looking for someone who can demonstrate most of the following skills and experiences:

Experience of working in media relations, journalism or in public affairs

A track record of developing and managing relationships with journalists and political stakeholders

About the role
Our volunteers and tutors are fundamental to TAP’s work and the sessions provided by our volunteers and tutors are key to the impact we have on our students’ outcomes. The volunteering and group tuition function is responsible for all stages of the volunteer and tuition process including recruiting volunteers and group tutors, training and onboarding them and ensuring they have an enjoyable experience. Volunteers and tutors work online with students in one-hour long sessions, supporting them with either academic studies or providing skills-based coaching.
This role is instrumental in recruiting volunteers and group tutors and is key in managing relationships with external organisations and providers of volunteers and group tutors.

About the role:
The Advance Prison Advocate will support women on remand and those unsentenced within the prison setting, providing pre-release support; focused on Accommodation, Finance, debt & benefits, Family & significant others and Social inclusion.
The Prison Advocate will develop a referral pathway with the Offender Management team within the prison, for women to access the service and will work in partnership with the existing service providers operating within the prison. You will co-design a person-centred support and action plan with women accessing support, enabling you to support them to address their needs and any risks in relation to the interventions identified above including providing ‘through the gate support’. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women in custody.
You will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with women in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally working with prisoners and/or their families.
You will build strong relationships with the Pre Release teams to ensure clients are able to maintain or access suitable accommodation, finance, benefits and debt, family and social inclusion support including negotiating terms on behalf of the women. Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised backgrounds. This, together with referrals to wider partner organisations in the community, will ensure additional support needs are addressed post-release and continuity of support exists
A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential
About You:
To be successful as the Advance Prison Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system obtained through academic study, experience of working in the criminal justice system (or closely associated social system).
The ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.
You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.
Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines
You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

This role
We are recruiting for a new role providing EA support to the CEO and administrative support across the organisation.
Justice and Care is at an exciting moment with the imminent launch of a new ten-year strategy and this role will be a key part of our team and play a vital role in helping us achieve our vision.

An opportunity has arisen to lead and run our Reachout Youth project, delivering weekly groups for young people aged 13-19 who are experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties. The groups are an informal, fun, confidential space where young people can meet and chat, participate in feel good activities and receive helpful information and tools. There are two groups a week, one on Thursdays in Tunbridge Wells between 4.30pm – 6pm and another in a community venue or a school in Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge, details to be confirmed.
You will have experience of working with young people, and the ability to facilitate groups, plan and deliver creative activities that engage young people and encourage participation. You will have excellent communication and administration skills. We are looking for someone energetic, positive, warm and welcoming, who is able to deal with challenging situations with confidence.
The role is for 13 hours per week, for delivery of the groups, dealing with referrals, client support, planning, administration and supervision. Some flexibility to work from home outside of the groups is possible, although this is an office-based role.

About the Role
The Enhanced Support Service is a multi-disciplinary team who provides person-led, long term support to people experiencing street homelessness and interconnecting needs. People eligible for the service are identified/ referred from The Connection Community (our wider group of service users regularly accessing our day centre). The team have small ‘caseloads’ and support the person from street homelessness to a new home with a community of support.
You will have substantial experience in delivering a person-led, psychologically, gender and culturally informed service to people who are street homeless. The Role:
Our Project Coordinator for In-Person activities in Oxford is a key leadership role at the heart of our sociable and fun team. You will coordinate all aspects of our inspiring and unique in-person session programme with six sessions a week spanning gardening to sports, recruit and support our exceptional volunteers, and be the primary contact for them and our community.
Each day as the KEEN Coordinator is very different. In one day, you might be a guest speaker in a local school or business, then running a Zig-Zag dinosaur themed crafts session for our under 10’s, before training new volunteers in adaptations they could use in our young adult’s drama session. On another day you might be in meetings with the local authority about enhancing inclusivity, finalising a KEEN fundraising application and then attending a volunteer social in the evening.

Purpose of your Job:
This is an exciting new role at Centre 33 and will play a key role to support the advancement and successful implementation of an operational plan to fundraise across Corporate and Community opportunities.
We would like to hear from ambitious fundraisers who have experience in these income streams, maybe as a team member, who is looking for the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge further within Centre 33’s growing Fundraising department. The role holder will work closely with the Development & Partnerships Lead and Director of Development & Partnerships to help create an operational plan and will then have ownership of delivering the plan and the associated income target. This will include identifying opportunities, creating cases for support, and arranging engaging and productive events for existing and potential partners. There will also be the opportunity to feed into the Communications team on external campaigns that the charity develops to build awareness and showcase Centre 33’s amazing work, including an upcoming capital appeal. You will also work closely with the Operations and Finance teams to understand the charity’s services and funding needs, and to ensure timely sharing of programme information to facilitate funding applications and reporting to existing grant holders. You will support the Development & Partnerships Lead and other team members with Trust and Foundation applications and other fundraising activities as required.
You will be confident establishing new and growing existing meaningful relationships and will maintain clear records of progress in our CRM (Donorfy). Job Purpose:
