This Senior Digital Officer role supports the ongoing strategic development of the organisation in key digital marketing areas, including website, analysis and evaluation, audio-visual outputs, eMarketing, and social media. The role will also support wider membership communications activities.
A substantial part of this maternity cover role will be supporting the senior digital manager deliver the organisation’s new website. This will entail project managing the website redevelopment work and launch, working closely with our digital agency as well as with colleagues withing NHS Providers. Alongside this, you’ll be supporting work on our new content strategy, ensuring our digital channels reflect the outcomes and working on development of analysis and evaluation across the organisation.

The Involvement & Engagement Officer will play a crucial role in delivering the new patient and public involvement and engagement strategy for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The role forms part of the Involvement & Engagement team, previously known as the Public Engagement team. This is a new team, formed in October 2023, and is part of the Information and Involvement (I&I) department. The team has a growing focus on patient and public involvement, managing a key group of involvement volunteers, supporting colleagues and dementia researchers through developing guidance and training, and enabling best practice. The team also delivers public engagement initiatives, with the aim of making dementia research accessible and inspiring to the public through face-to-face events and participatory projects and supporting researchers to deliver engagement. The team also supports fundraising colleagues and activities through helping to embed and enhance ways to engage supporters with dementia research.
The team forms part of the busy Policy, Communications & Involvement directorate and works closely with colleagues both within the directorate and across the charity. The I&I department’s mission is to improve understanding of dementia and the diseases which cause it and encourage and support the public and people affected by dementia to get involved in research. The evolving remit of the team means this role has significant scope to shape and develop this area of work.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager, implement ARUK’s public involvement and engagement strategy.
· Coordinate and deliver the online public event series, working with colleagues across events, marketing and social media to plan sessions and effectively promote them, both externally and internally, to engage supporters and other members of the public with dementia research funded by ARUK.
· Coordinate and deliver public facing activity around ARUK Research Conference, identifying opportunities to engage with local communities about dementia research.
· Seek opportunities for public facing activity, that engage people with the topic of dementia and the importance of research, in line with ARUK’s strategic goals.
· Maintain relationships with the ARUK Research Network and facilitate Centres in the planning, promotion and delivery of public engagement activity.
· Support colleagues to effectively engage with their audiences, creating and maintaining compelling activities and resources that bring dementia research to life.
· Facilitate, plan and deliver the work of the Insight and Experience Panel, including liaising with members and providing dementia specific assistance, arranging logistics for meetings, responding to queries, liaising with internal stakeholders.
· Support the recruitment of new lived experience representatives, with a focus on improving representation from people with a dementia diagnosis and those from underserved communities.
· Responsibility to ensure records relating to involvement work are kept up to date in line with ARUK policies and procedures.
· Helping to develop and deliver training on engagement and involvement for the panel, colleagues and the research community, working with the Research Involvement Manager.
· Work closely with the Research Involvement Manager and wider Research team, sharing knowledge and insights and supporting their work focussed on involvement in research. Collaborate on special projects relating to involvement as appropriate.
· Act as a champion for public involvement across ARUK, effectively communicating the importance of involvement in the charity’s work and supporting colleagues to effectively incorporate involvement into key projects and initiatives.
· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager to produce ongoing evaluation of the involvement and engagement programme, proactively coming up with suggestions for new initiatives and continuous improvement of the programme.
· Keep up to date with patient and public engagement and involvement sectors to identify emerging knowledge and best practice that might benefit ARUK’s work. Take part in groups that support professional development around involvement and engagement.
What we are looking for:
· Experience in coordinating or delivering public engagement and/or patient and public involvement.
· Experience in project management, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
· Experience of discussing and communicating health or research matters with the public.
· Experience building and managing relationships with colleagues and external partners.

· Strong and effective written and spoken communication skills, ability to tailor to lay audiences.
· Ability to communicate appropriately with people affected by dementia and their families.
· Ability to find creative solutions to complex problems.
· Excellent organisational skills; the ability to coordinate various projects with different deadlines.
· A confident and friendly manner; would feel at ease representing the charity to a range of audiences to a high level.
· Creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to identify opportunities and develop initiatives relating to involvement and engagement.
· Ability to work with independence, intelligence, drive and initiative.
· Good IT skills.
· Willingness and ability to travel independently in the UK occasionally and to work outside of regular office hours when needed.
Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

In this multi-faceted essential role, you will be the first point of contact for our supporters and provide high-quality customer service and support, from handling enquiries through to resolution, processing income donations, sending out donation thank you letters and supporter materials, all in a professional manner.
It is an exciting time to join King’s College Hospital Charity and the Fundraising and Communications Team to support our innovative and ambitious fundraising targets. We recently had our biggest ever team at the 2024 London Landmarks Half Marathon, with 96 runners representing Team King’s and over £85,000 raised for our hospitals. The Great Hospital Hike, our flagship fundraising event, also raised over £160,000 for our hospitals, with our supporters walking the 18-mile route from King’s College Hospital in Denmark Hill to the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley.
The Supporter Services Assistant is often the first point of contact at the charity for supporters - handling enquiries, processing income, sending out donation thank you letters and supporter materials and mass postal mailings, where required. You will combine excellent supporter care and customer service with administrative efficiency and attention to detail to ensure that the supporter experience is smooth and positive from start to finish. You'll be skilled at listening and responding to queries appropriately, both over the telephone, via email and letter.
You will use the Access Charity Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to make sure all supporter information is recorded consistently, kept up to date and maintained in accordance with database management procedures. You will work closely with the Database Manager and Senior Fundraising Operations Officer to highlight opportunities for improvements to processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- To give supporters a positive, consistent experience in all their interactions with the Charity, especially in response to enquiries, income handling and donor thanking.
- To ensure that income is recorded accurately and promptly on the CRM database to enable the Finance team to reconcile and correctly allocate income, and the Fundraising team to have financial oversight of their fundraising activities.
- To ensure that supporter records on the CRM database are kept up to date, adding enquiry responses, donation correspondence and amending records where requested by either the supporter, members of the Fundraising & Communications team or wider charity colleagues.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team. This role will require the successful candidate to support an integrated and holistic approach to education, health and care, work under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher / senior specialist teaching assistant, support access to learning and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in learning opportunities and to assist the teacher in providing relevant support for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex therapeutic, medical and health needs.

Role Requirements
STL1 – Provide support for Learning Activities set by Classteacher & Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant
- To support learning activities for individual, groups or whole classes of pupils, leading activities under the direction of the teacher or Senior Teaching Assistant supporting the teacher in their delivery of lessons.
- To demonstrate our School Ethos and Pupil Charter throughout the School day.
- Holistically integrate education, health and care needs.
- Evaluate and record procedures for learning activities.
- To know individual learning targets for each pupil in the group(s) and take specific action to enable individual pupil goals be achieved.
- To attend to the general care, maintenance and storage of classroom equipment.
STL 2 – Support Children’s Development
- Observe pupils, sharing observational findings, contribute to the implementation of activities to support development.
- Actively contribute towards record-keeping particularly in respect of pupil learning, therapeutic interventions, behaviour management, child protection and any other specific programme set up for individual pupils by the teacher / Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant / Therapist.
STL 3 – Help to keep Children Safe
- Undertake annual safeguarding training.
- Adhere to the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and policies. Recording incidents pertaining to pupil safety, including for illness, accidents and incidents, accepting that Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that ‘it could happen here’.
- Read relevant documentation / mandatory reads in relation to Keeping Children Safe In Education.
- Report any signs and indicators of possible abuse, being sensitive to the child/young person and circumstances, Identifying, report and record changes in behaviour and physical signs.
- Be aware of and follow plans, risk assessments and record keeping pertaining to individual pupils, including care plans, health care plans, feeding plans, moving and handling and behaviour management plans, actively engaging in relevant training and competencies offered to ensure that you are able to support in keeping all pupils in the class safe.
- Ensure safe transport for all pupils in the class for off site visits.
STL 4 – Contribute to Positive Relationships
- Interact with and respond positively and professionally, to pupils and adults, including colleagues, other professionals and parents/ carers at all times.
- Work collaboratively as part of a class and wider School and organisational team.
- Actively support change where it is required to improve the teaching, learning and meeting of our pupils needs.
STL 5 – Provide Effective Support for your Colleagues
- Work effectively as a team member, being aware of and providing support to colleagues when needed.
- Embrace training and competencies to ensure that all staff in a class team are able to support each other.
- Complete all ‘Universal level training’.
STL 6 / STL 39 – Support Literacy and Numeracy Activities, Communication and Interaction Needs
- Support the delivery of appropriate communication, language and literacy as well as the learning targets related to cognition to individuals, small groups and whole classes of pupils, providing accurate support and feedback to the teacher and pupils.
STL 7 / STL 8 – Support and use Information Communication Technology (ICT) for Teaching and Learning
- Prepare commonly used ICT for use in lessons and be aware of and be able to use hardware and software commonly used in the school.
- Be aware of individual pupil’s specific needs as assessed by teachers and therapists and apply relevant recommendations.
- Support the delivery of lessons including ICT to individuals, small groups and whole classes of pupils.
STL 9 – Observe and Report of Pupil Performance
- Against intended learning targets be able to observe and complete assessments with teaching support.
- Support the classteacher in providing evidence (observational notes, photographs, videos) presenting in the appropriate format to assist the evaluation of evidence relating to the pupils’ stage of development.

- Work with individuals to identify the effectiveness of the therapy sessions on their health and social well-being.
- Check observations with appropriate people and against agreed outcomes.
- Identify any issues or problems in relation to the therapy sessions and work with individuals, key people and others to identify and agree changes to the therapy sessions.

- Implement agreed strategies to support pupils with cognition and learning difficulties to learn.

STL 43 – Assist in the Administration of Medication
- Apply standard precautions for infection control and other relevant health and safety measures.
- Report any discrepancies or omissions you might find to the person in control of the administration and to relevant staff as appropriate.
- Be aware of School procedures.
- Contribute to administering and record keeping of medication to individuals in the appropriate manner, using the correct techniques according to the care plan if signed off as competent in doing so.
- Ensure the security of medications throughout the process and ensure all medication is stored in the correct safe place when administration is complete.
STL 4 – Meet their Personal Support Needs
- Attend to pupils’ personal care needs as and when necessary ensuring care and dignity at all times.
- Assist with the organisation of refreshments and mealtimes, feeding individual pupils where necessary including feeding by gastric tube after receiving the necessary training.
- Support pupils in the water and assist with swimming and or hydrotherapy programmes.
PDR – Take part in School Staff Development Procedures
- Take part in a performance management programme and work towards specific pupil progress and professional development targets.
- Take part in a staff induction programme, and pursue other training opportunities as agreed with the line manager.
- Take part in staff development days, class team meetings, departmental meetings, whole staff meetings and other occasional meetings held in usual working hours.
- To support students and volunteers who work within the classroom from time to time.

- All of our Support Assistants will be expected to work with a range of pupils in their class and maybe requested to work with others across the School.

Nottingham and Leicester/Leicestershire Citizens are currently running campaigns on migration justice, racial equity in education, access to healthcare.
Our ideal candidate for the position will have a track record of making things happen, be able to work with a high degree of independence, are comfortable with uncertainty, and able to think strategically as well as operationally. They will be interested in understanding and working with different sectors and types of organisations, as well as engaging with people from a wide range of faiths and cultures which are different to their own. Purpose

This position fulfils the National Flood Forum’s role as part of the Environment Agency’s Resilience and Innovation Fund FAIR approach to Community Flood Risk project. The project officer will help communities to work in partnership with flood risk management agencies to better manage flooding and its impacts in their area. This will involve working with communities at flood risk and agencies using methodologies developed by the National Flood Forum and used successfully around the country.
We are seeking someone warm and approachable, who will be required to work in Staffordshire and potentially other areas in England & Wales.
