Working with the Footwork Director and Advisory Board, the main purpose of the role is to oversee and coordinate overall delivery of Footwork’s new five-year strategy and to take a leadership role in maximizing fundraising opportunities. Footwork is a small but ambitious charity with an established reputation in global health networks and partnerships. The Resource Mobilisation and Strategy Manager will be responsible for maintaining and growing these links with a wide variety of stakeholders, including national governments, international NGOs, and funders. The post holder will also manage and coordinate Footwork’s governance, including primarily the convening of the Footwork Advisory Board and Technical Committee, and providing input to and coordinating relevant outputs and actions from these bodies as required. The role offers an opportunity to have a key role in developing and shaping Footwork’s profile and impact at an exciting time. In particular, the post holder will take responsibility for delivering the following goals. 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Senior Philanthropy Manager will deliver effective strategies for regular giving through developing the Art Partners programme – leading all aspects including recruitment, stewardship and strategy for growth, and fundraising appeals and campaigns. You will working closely with the Head of Individual Giving to cultivate individual donors to secure gifts towards Art Fund’s charitable programme.

Key responsibilities will include;

• Implementing and contributing to a robust recruitment strategy to increase the numbers of members and to build philanthropic engagement through refining the fundraising pitch and proposal through to making direct asks
• Developing compelling communications which raise awareness of charitable objectives and identify activity which will have wide appeal among individual donors as one-off asks or long-term fundraising initiatives.

About You

Educated to degree level or equivalent you will be an established Policy and Public Affairs professional, with good attention to detail, agile in approach with excellent communication and influencing skills. 

Passionate about the natural environment you will place the Society at the centre of debate, advocating best practice around soil science and land use management across government departments and cross sector actors. 

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of coordinating and delivering policy responses, working with internal and external stakeholders in the development of policy and projects, and raising awareness of an organisation’s profile with politicians, policymakers and opinion formers.

You must have the ability to assimilate complex policy topics quickly, a solid understanding of political and policy processes, and be an excellent communicator.

The ideal person will also have sound research and project management skills, along with experience working for a membership body, an established network and relevant knowledge of environment policy led issues.

The British Society of Soil Science (BSSS) was founded in 1947 by eminent British soil scientists with the aims of advancing the study of soil; being open to membership from all those with an interest in the study and uses of soil; and issuing an annual publication.

Nowadays BSSS is an established international membership organisation and charity committed to the study of soil in its widest aspects. With over 900 members, it is funded primarily through income from publications and subscriptions. About You 

Can you use your expert media relations and proven line management skills to help put nature into recovery with one of the UK’s best-loved environmental charities? 

The Trusts’ small, but brilliant national media team creates billions of opportunities to ‘see’ their work in print, radio, online and on screen each year: from their commentary on Government policy to stories about their work on the ground, our interviews, quotes, videos and press releases are used in national and international stories as varied as action on peat to whale sightings. They regularly appear on BBC Countryfile, Springwatch and BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, as well as in international media such as National Geographic, Times of India and Washington Post. In 2023 alone, the team achieved c.43,000 appearances in the national media and a reach of over 530 billion opportunities to see. This coverage ensured that thry remain at the heart of the national conversation on why they need nature. 

But they’re not standing still because the nature and climate crises demand greater and more urgent action. They’re therefore looking for a resourceful and strategic thinker who can exploit new opportunities for The Trusts to continue to raise their profile and use their communications to drive greater awareness of and engagement with the things that need to happen to turn things round. 

This is a senior role and they’re looking for an experienced media manager with an excellent track record in media relations for high profile organisations, who can confidently deal with high-profile reactive media as well as developing and delivering evidence-based creative, innovative media strategies. You will be leading a small media team, so line management experience is essential to ensure the consistent delivery of high-profile, high-impact media activity, supervising the team’s research, writing and editing. Working alongside the Head of Media you will build an environment where your team can continuously develop to be their best and have space to innovate and find new channels to reach broader audiences with our messages. In particular, they are keen to do more to highlight the role of people power (community organising) in nature’s recovery. 

You will have significant previous experience of generating compelling news stories and features, and ideally you will have been involved in publicising policy and campaigns. There is never a dull moment and you will need to thrive working in an extremely fast-paced environment where organisational skills, prioritisation and attention to detail are a must.

Key Responsibilities

As an Asset Management Administrator, you provide general administration support to the Asset Management Team.

You will ensure compliance information, repairs and improvement information are all recorded accurately on Hft’s system. You will monitor renewal dates for services and liaise with approved suppliers to arrange works when required. You will ensure Hft’s compliance system is kept up to date with compliance certificates and risk assessments. You will review and agree invoicing for building maintenance and compliance works in line with contractual rates, monitoring spend and identifying areas for cost saving. You will be required to attend meetings with contractors as required, ensuring all minutes are recorded accurately.

Your role

As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Bridport shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.

About you

You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first.
