Role outline and purpose

Ensuring the delivery of The Trussell Trust’s vision to end the need for food banks in the UK by developing an in-depth understanding of Trussell Trust food banks in their area and using coaching and assist to build and hold productive relationships to:

· Develop and execute a strategic plan for reducing the need for food banks’  services locally.

· Work alongside local partners to increase public will for long-term solutions to end the need for food banks.

· Develop and manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders to assist evidenced-based policy change at a local level and feed into activity to drive policy and practice at UK wide and national levels.

Responsibilities

· Assisting trustees, staff and volunteers within food banks to develop their plans to end the need for their services locally through the strategic key areas of operations, volunteering, data, participation, church engagement, governance and stability, financial inclusion, stakeholder engagement, local influencing, referral pathways and signposting. 

· Assist food banks to operate in a safe, legal and dignified manner (through calls, visits, training, meeting facilitation and our risk management and self-assessment processes) and assist the facilitation of good practice within the network and wider organisation (through cluster meetings, regional forums, road shows, webinars, peer support and internal meetings).

· Contribute to the development and promotion of support available to food banks through the Trussell Trust (including use of the digital hub, toolkits, partnerships and expert advice) and assist food banks with grant application processes, as required.  

· Develop and manage positive relationships with relevant external stakeholders, including local councils and anti-poverty networks, to ensure the Trussell Trust vision is understood and able to influence local decisions, whilst supporting and empowering food banks to foster these relationships locally. 

· Work with food banks to ensure that local churches (including church leaders) are connected to and have an understanding of the importance of ending the need for food banks in local communities. 

· Support the development, and lead on aspects of delivery, of projects with food banks and external partners that contribute to ending the need for food banks. 

· Ensure the voice of our network is heard throughout the organisation through reporting, information sharing and participation in additional working groups and projects. 

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

· Competent and efficient use of IT, particularly the main Microsoft Office programmes. Previous experience of Salesforce or similar CRM system is desirable. 

· Experience of working innovatively and creatively.  

· Experience of complex problem solving and responding to crisis situations.  

· Strong organisational skills and experience of managing competing priorities within challenging timescales.

· An appreciation and understanding of the significance of Christian faith within our food bank network, and the ability to build effective relationships in contexts where Christian faith plays a major part, and in which people of all faiths and none collaborate to make a difference together. Food banks in our network are typically governed by or run in partnership with local churches from across a wide range of denominations and traditions. 

Deputy Service Manager

About the Role

Working under the direction and support of a Regional Prevention Services Managers, the Deputy Service Manager will lead a team of client-facing workers to deliver effective and high-quality services that strive to prevent homelessness.  You will be responsible for young people needing longer term placements, as well as sharing responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all hosts and staff at the service.

The postholder will be accountable for the day-to-day aspects of service delivery in line with Depaul’s expectations and procedures. You will oversee all aspects of project delivery of our Supported Lodgings service, including the line management of client-facing workers, supporting the to deliver high-quality services.

Your work will be underpinned by the Depaul Endeavour model of assets based, psychologically informed delivery, the aim of which is to ensure that every client leaves a Depaul service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self determining in their lives.

Key responsibilities include:

•  Ensure every client accessing Supported Lodgings service is welcomed, kept safe and has a suitable support plan for longer term accommodation and support

• You will lead on the assessment of needs and risk, predominantly focused on suitable risk management plans for engagement in Supported Lodgings Services

• Develop and deliver key partnerships with referral agencies and support related projects

• Work with the Regional Prevention Services Manager to continuously review and develop the services under your responsibility

• You will have responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for Supported Lodgings’ guests and volunteers through regular checks and reporting.

• Work with the Regional Prevention Services Manager to monitor project budgets and petty cash systems

• Participate in internal/external local and national meetings and supervision meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary

• Lead on the safeguarding of all clients accessing your services including clients who are not in receipt of support from other staff

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• Demonstrable experience of working to improve the lives of children, young people and families

• Understanding and knowledge of the challenges young people face who are at risk of homelessness

• Management and leadership experience

• Experience of working with and managing volunteers

• Experience of working with our client group

The post-holder will oversee the management of Sightsavers Finance and Administration in the Zambia Country Office. Reporting to the Country Director they are responsible for monitoring the country resource management and identifying risks or issues. Key accountabilities but not limited to:

• Excellent financial management and risk mitigation through compliance with local regulations and adherence to the organisational Financial Framework

• Proven work experience in financial management, programme/ project management and administration
• Strong project financial management, budget and data analysis
• Strong experience in grant management (for example EC, FCDO, USAID)
• Excellent communication and organisation
• Fluent or strong written and spoken English
• Available to travel as and when required within Zambia
• Ability to work independently

• Undertaking an initial assessment of service users’ needs on entry into the National Road Victim Service
• With the support of the team manager and risk manager, prioritising and categorising cases which require immediate intervention, based on assessment of vulnerability and risk at an early stage.

Essential experience and skills

• Experience of an assessment or triage service, including remotely.
• Experience of undertaking comprehensive assessments for service users with complex mental health and social care needs and taking appropriate action to stabilise them.
• Knowledge, experience and understanding of working in a trauma informed way, providing trauma informed care to adults and families.

About the Role

This role is an opportunity to develop your fundraising skills and gain experience across a broad range of incomes streams while also providing essential administrative support across our small charity. You will support the Director and Fundraising Manager with fundraising from grant makers, individual donors and corporate partnerships. You will already have strong digital skills and will take the lead on developing our digital fundraising through expanding the effectiveness and reach of our social media. You will oversee the administration of our Peak Partners scheme for businesses and lead on signing up new bronze and silver level partners. The role of Volunteering Manager will work to review and expand Concordia’s Volunteering programmes to ensure a variety of attractive opportunities both in the UK and abroad. A unique opportunity to work for a well-known group of Museums in London as their Stakeholder Relationships Manager, for a 12 month FTC. Aquarius was a subsidiary of Richmond Fellowship, with both organisations being part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. On 1st June 2024 Richmond Fellowship merged with Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. At the same time, Aquarius became a subsidiary of Humankind, with no impact to terms and conditions of employment. Prospectus is delighted to be supporting Hand in Hand International to recruit their new Programme Development Manager, as the organisation looks to increase their impact and support thousands of women on their way out of poverty. This is a permanent, full-time position based in London (Hybrid).

Reporting to the Head of Programmes, Gender and Humanitarian the post holder will identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them form prospects to secured funds. You will ensure the effective delivery of a portfolio of institutional and corporate grants, making sure projects are achieving key milestones and that day-to-day activities are on track. The Programme Development Manager will provide high quality project information to both internal and external stakeholders, extracting and quality assuring project data relevant for reporting, and making sure all projects are compliant with donor requirements. You will proactively manage relationships with existing donors, developing engagement strategies, sharing key information, and laying groundwork for follow-on funding. Finally, you will lead proposals for new and existing donors, coordinating inputs from Hand in Hand International and network colleagues, drafting technical inputs, and engaging with funders where required.

The ideal candidate will have an innovative approach and a strong track record in fundraising from large institutional donors; trusts and foundations, corporate foundations and governments. The main objective of the role is to identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them from prospects to secured funds. The role will be roughly 70% fundraising and 30% grant management.

As well as a demonstrable track-record securing large, multi-year grants from different types of funders, you will have experience with their thematic areas: women’s economic empowerment, value chains, livelihoods or enterprise acceleration. Experience working in development projects in Eastern Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe. Experience in Afghanistan would be a plus.

Internal Communications Manager

The Internal Communications Manager is a pivotal role at the College as you will help develop and shape the College’s internal communication channels to drive information sharing and engagement with the College Strategy and Values for staff.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director for People and Culture, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the employee internal communications plan to inspire, inform and engage employees with clear, consistent messages that align with the College’s mission, values and goals.

As Internal Communications Manager, you will review and develop processes and communication channels and develop the annual plan for employee communications using innovative and creative approaches to engage and support. You will tailor communications for different operational areas, ensuring messages land effectively and in a compelling and timely format.

You will work with the Executive team to create a regular drumbeat of key internal organisational communications, identifying areas for improvement and adapting the approach where necessary, whilst collaborating with the Social Media Officer and the Creative Content & Marketing Team to ensure our internal tone of voice is aligned with how we communicate externally with members.

You will also work closely with the People & Culture Division to support on the delivery of our People & Culture Strategy, helping to build our employer brand and using LinkedIn and other social media to raise the College’s profile as an employer of choice.

With a foundation degree in a communication or marketing area and with a qualification or certification from a relevant body such as CIPR, you will have a proven track record in internal communications and have experience of developing and implementing successful communication strategies and campaigns to reach diverse audiences.

You should have significant experience of working closely with senior leaders and have a strong background in delivering internal communications within a mid-to-large organisation. Your excellent interpersonal and verbal communication abilities will ensure you are capable of engaging with diverse audiences including senior management.

The RCPCH has more than 23,000 members and fellows and employs around 200 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. The Role

This is a dynamic new and exciting role which will play a key part in our strategy for development and growth at Link to Change. The role involves managing our apprenticeship schemes, developing, and delivering our income generation strategy, providing business support to our Chief Executive, and collaborating with key partners and stakeholders.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of communication tactics that contribute to the impact of our work, focused on informing and influencing key audiences based upon the charity’s strategies.
• Assist in the planning, writing and development of the key strategies required to enhance Link to Change’s business capabilities.

• Development of new business engagement plans- identifying, researching, engaging and cultivating new prospects and relationships, alongside the Operations Manager and Chief Executive.
• Manage and support with the improvement of systems, processes and administrative projects in line with the needs of the charity.
• Developing relationships with businesses, community groups, individual donors, trusts and foundations and local partners to encourage donations, CSR, gifts in kind, community events, campaigns and develop supporter journeys for the charity.

Policy Manager (Child Protection & Ethics)

The Policy Manager role covering the child protection and ethics portfolio is an exciting opportunity to ensure that the RCPCH is leading the way in children’s health.

You will be key in leading the College’s child protection policy work to ensure influential positions, advice and standards of care are developed using robust consultation with members in response to a dynamically evolving health policy landscape. For the first time, this role will develop policy positions and guidance using advice and discussion from the College’s ethics and law advisory committee, covering high profile and complex ethical issues for children and paediatrics.

Using a high degree of autonomy, you will lead policy development including horizon scanning, researching and briefing, often analysing complex information and using this to inform policy development and outputs. You will advise on and work collaboratively with others within the Membership, Policy and External Affairs division to communicate the RCPCH’s position to governments, policy-makers and other stakeholders, through consultations, printed reports, representation on committees, external facing meetings, online and social media. 

Supported in an ambitious, kind and hard-working Policy Team, you will be offered considerable training and development opportunities, including accredited courses as part of the offer from the College’s range of staff benefits.

This is a high-visibility role, working closely with paediatricians and child health experts, the College’s Senior Officers, and external stakeholders at all levels. You will be seen as a go-to expert in child protection and ethical issues relating to children and paediatricians, and will be required to demonstrate a broad knowledge of current health policy issues, with self-motivation, excellent time and project management and communication skills.

To help us in this next phase of development we are recruiting for a newly created position – Senior Communications Manager. This exciting role sits within our national team and will lead the ongoing development and delivery of Thrive at Five’s external communications, ensuring we can reach and engage with a diverse range of audiences from national early years influencers to parents in our regional sites. The role will have two main areas of focus: 1) National communications: establishing Thrive at Five’s national presence to influence policy, funding and practices and attract future partners (funders, future pathfinder areas and other strategic partners); 2) Regional Communications; work with our local backbone teams to deliver a communications strategy which supports our two strategic drivers; 1) to build relationships and strengthen understanding of the early years with key professional stakeholders, and 2) to reach local parents to build their knowledge, confidence and skills and encourage them to take up support on offer.

You will have solid strategic communications experience, with an excellent track record in developing and executing innovative communications plans. You will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and committed to the need for continued learning and improvement necessary for Thrive at Five to develop a new place-based model for supporting early childhood development. The successful candidate will bring experience of managing a broad range of stakeholders and supporting a network of partners and will be adept at managing and coaching staff, with the ability to upskill team members. You will also have excellent organisational and project management skills. It would be beneficial to have experience of working nationally with engagement across local teams, and ideally with good experience of how to best utilise digital communications.
