We are looking for a passionate and experienced Proposals and Grants Specialist who is committed to feminist principles and safeguarding, and has a strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference and has a proven track record in writing successful high value fundraising proposals. You will have experience in securing significant donations from major donors, charitable trusts, and/or corporate donors. Your ability to translate technical programme information into compelling supporter communications for different audiences will be crucial in this role.
As the Proposal Writer and Grant Specialist, your role will be central in securing income from high value donors (worth £100K+ per annum), that fund some of our most critical work. This will involve developing and writing high quality proposals, concept notes and reports in line with our organisational priorities. As part of our internally-focussed Strategic Funding Team you will work closely with colleagues across our federation to ensure we are presenting the highest priority and most strategic work to our donors. This will involve setting up new projects, establishing log frames, monitoring and evaluation frameworks and grant management, reporting schedules, and keeping donor-facing account managers informed on progress.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to improve team practices, support the design and roll out of templates and training, and embed grant management systems. You will also be responsible for encouraging standardisation across teams in AAUK, managing requests and communications to colleagues in Federation Member countries, and ensuring donor communications systems and processes are up to date. Other responsibilities include sharing best practices, writing compelling human interest stories, managing a personal portfolio of restricted grants, and delivering capacity building workshops. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people.
Role Purpose
Provide strategic leadership for KLS’ Refugee Family Programme, ensuring that programme direction and delivery is strategically aligned, responds to learning and changes in context, and maximises our impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing clear and steady leadership and management to all aspects of our newly formed Refugee Family programme, which has grown out of previous separate projects to better meet the holistic needs of people we support.
- Managing and developing the budget and finances; whilst supporting the fundraising lead to secure its financial viability.
- Directly lead the scoping and planning of the Refugee Family Programme Strategy to:
- Develop and expand existing programmes.
- Identify opportunities to create, innovate and improve projects within the Refugee Family Programme - such as community outreach workshops, advocacy support, Educational Classes, and Groups, Mentoring and Clubs - to meet the needs of the people we support and those who may need our support in the future.
- Undertake regular horizon scanning and environmental analysis to ensure KLS has a full understanding of the potential for growth and programme development associated with the current, future and changing demand and need.
- Build and maintain effective networks and partnerships that will ultimately support people to realise their potential.
- Work with the Chief Operating Officer to develop appropriate processes, systems and working practices that create a continuous improvement approach and ensure insights-based impact reporting, evaluation and decision making.
- Through effective networking and building of positive relationships, act as an ambassador for the organisation to effectively promote and raise awareness of both the organisation and its work.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to your direct reports and overall team to achieve both the organisation’s overall vision and ensure excellence in delivery.
- Devise and design programme concepts and specifications and provide strategic recommendations for programme developments using effective research, planning, monitoring, and evaluation, ensuring projects meet needs of individuals, families, and the community.
- Ensure our programme delivery model is financially viable and sustainable, and underpinned by quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Maintain oversight of the deployment of financial, people and organisational resources, ensuring effective budget management and use of resources across all programme delivery teams.
- Engage proactively with relevant stakeholders, networks, and particularly those who benefit from our projects, to support and directly inform the design of person-centred services.
- Continue to build and sustain strong relationships with our families and young people.

Administration
- Recruit, train, manage and support the team, holding regular supervision sessions, annual appraisals and appropriate training and development.
- Ensure performance management and quality systems are in place to monitor and evaluate the project’s work, processes.
- Follow KLS’ safer recruiting process and ensure safeguarding members is a priority across the team.
- Ensure all member and project records are kept up to date on Salesforce.
- Work with the Senior Leadership and Finance Director to manage the programme budget, maintain financial records, monitor income and expenditure against budgets and targets, and report regularly and accurately to KLS’ Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.
- Oversee the team’s use of our database, Salesforce, for managing the programme, ensuring data accuracy and completeness, and working with external consultants to customise and integrate the database with KLS’ website, referral, and evaluation forms.
Safeguarding
- Responsible for embedding safeguarding best practice and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures across the programme team, ensuring that safeguarding is at the forefront of KLS’ delivery.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Refugee Family Programme Team, working with Safeguarding Officers and Duty Leads to ensure all safeguarding concerns are managed and recorded appropriately and safeguarding cover is maintained across the team in line with KLS’ procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive leadership and management experience, coupled with a track record of leading the strategic development of services for adults and children (of all ages) from the refugee community that improve their access to education and justice, reduce their isolation and improve their ability to navigate their journey.
- Extensive experience of working with people from vulnerable groups, especially children and young people, ensuring that clients’ needs are at the forefront of service planning and delivery.
- Experience of working with refugee communities.
- Up to date knowledge of the English education system, rights to education, the barriers facing refugee communities in accessing education and how these might be addressed.
- Understanding and experience of safeguarding, and health & safety (including trips and residentials for children and families), in theory and in practice.
- Experience of providing advice and advocacy support to people from vulnerable groups.
- Direct involvement in adopting a strategic approach to either replicating existing or developing new services / programmes in response to anticipated future demand or a change in the landscape.
- Evidence of successful strategic and operational resource management
- Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at a senior and strategic level.
- The ability to take a creative approach in respect to packages of support.

ASH Co-op is a thriving tenant-managed housing co-op in Cambridge. We have two part-time staff and are looking for a focused, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic person to take the role on to cover for maternity leave to start from late September.
This is a varied front-line role involving collecting rent and taking enquiries, including maintenance requests and applications for membership. It also involves monitoring budgets, some basic accounting and general office administration. You must be IT literate with a good working knowledge of excel and will ideally have previous experience of housing work, or a similar office environment.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To be responsible, with our other housing co-ordinator/s, for the day-to-day running of ASH Co-op in co-operation with the membership; deal with outside bodies on behalf of the co-op; keep computer records; maintain and develop office and financial systems; and provide administrative support for working groups.
REPORTING TO
The Employment Co-ordinators, who are elected by the members on to ASH Co-op’s committee.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All tasks are to be carried out with the relevant Co-ordinators and Working Groups where appropriate. As a volunteer led organisation, the Housing Co-ordinators will be expected to liaise with working group co-ordinators from time to time to agree how tasks will split between them. A key responsibility of the Housing Co-ordinators is to provide continuity where volunteers are unable to do so.
The successful applicant will be able to work Tuesdays and spread remaining hours across other weekdays between 8am-7pm when needed. The core office opening hours are 9.30am- 5pm. This role is being offered on a 13 month fixed contract.

Grants Manager

Role purpose
At Fair4All Finance, we are making direct social investments (£40m+ to date) and grants into community finance providers and social fintechs to support their growth and future sustainability, as a key part of our strategy to scale up the provision of affordable credit. This includes our new Community Finance Resilience Fund - we expect to have offered 40-50 grants from this Fund by end summer 2024 (at which point we expect the Fund to be fully committed).
We are now looking for an experienced grants manager to manage this grant portfolio. This will include deploying remaining grants (once approved by our grants committee), liaising with grantee organisations (primarily credit unions and CDFIs) on finalising grant agreements, supporting regular social impact and financial reporting, and dealing with ad hoc queries. There are good development opportunities as we develop our impact reporting.
You will be joining a collaborative and purpose driven team overseen by a committed board. Some key responsibilities
In this role your focus will likely be split across some key areas of work:
Grant portfolio - management
· Offer grants (once approved by our grant committee), finalise and execute grant agreements in line with our policies and procedures

· Liaise with our Finance team to draw down grant funds
Grant portfolio - financial and social impact reporting
· Responsible for the regular monitoring of financial and social impact performance
· Working closely with an external evaluator and other members of the investment team to agree the monitoring framework and support impact analysis of the Community Finance Resilience Fund
Other
· Support due diligence on ad hoc grants to community finance providers
· Support regular reporting to our external funders in line with their requirements
To be successful, your experience and skills will include:

The Role

The Head of Development will deliver the charity's ambitious 3-year fundraising strategy and oversee all fundraising campaigns across membership, individual giving, trusts, foundations, and corporate support, as well as providing excellent stewardship to major donors. They will guide, inspire and support a high-performing and collaborative development team to achieve annual fundraising goals, as well as overseeing internal fundraising processes.
The postholder will manage and grow a portfolio of supporters, and work closely with the CEO on one-off major gift campaigns. They will also provide stewardship of funders to the highest standard, ensuring the delivery of promised benefits to all members and supporters, such as complimentary ticket requests, special events, and rehearsal attendance. Additionally, they will oversee the messaging and strategy for legacy giving and manage an engaging communications schedule for supporters that conveys the company's key messages and values.

We are recruiting for a Senior Youth (Support) Worker to join our small, friendly team. You will support our team of youth support workers, volunteers and Peer Educators, helping them to use their knowledge and experience for the benefit of our members. Job Summary
We expect this role to focus on developing and maintaining relationships with key funders, stakeholders, institutions and individuals. We’re an award-winning charity running local learning centres in the heart of the communities where the young people we support live. As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping 52,000 young people each year at its 41 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.
We are looking someone who will thrive in a varied and innovative role as a Project Worker in the Adult and Family Learning team working across our centres in Govan and Maryhill (Glasgow) with frequent travel Craigmillar (Edinburgh). This is a new and exciting team at the charity, focusing on how we can offer additional impactful support in the local communities in which our Scotland centres are based. The Adult and Family Learning team will work in close collaboration with colleagues at the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The pilot will focus on supporting the parents, carers and families of young people accessing the centres, with the potential for this to extend to wider adults in the community. As a Project Worker you will deliver the programme and support the Adult and Family Learning Manager to plan and develop activities tailored according to and with an understanding of the different communities in which it will be offered. The post holder will be a key contributor to the QNI's digital content and support the QNI's digital infrastructure including websites, social media, financial administration and Customer Relationship Management system.
