About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Shop Supervisor to make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness.
Portobello Road is one of our newest shops to open and will have an amazing range of high street and streetwear donations; processing, pricing and displaying a large volume of stock will be a big part of this role. The team will also develop a vibrant events programme, of craft workshops, art exhibitions, fashion collabs and more! We also work closely with local artists and universities. We’d love you to bring your own ideas, along with your experience of fashion, retail, and current trends, to this role. You will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression through training and development – many of our shop managers were promoted internally.
As a Shop Supervisor, you will support the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will play a key role in delivering customer service and supporting volunteers, as well maintaining the look and feel of the shop and processing stock. You will work towards ambitious sales and training targets, maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness.
This is a unique retail opportunity where you will also be involved in delivering on the job training for Crisis members, supporting them to gain the skills and confidence needed in the workplace. You will work collaboratively with your team and will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression.

To be successful in this role you will have significant retail or customer service experience alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. Purpose of the role
To deliver and develop the Day One Casework bedside model to patients, or those closest to them, impacted by serious or multiple injuries which could result in life changing consequences, such as disability or death, predominantly within Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital (GMMTH), Salford, but also in other hospital settings or Trusts as required.
To have a visible physical presence within the Trust and become embedded into clinical teams focussing on the major trauma pathways.
To work closely with those impacted by catastrophic injury, taking referrals and carrying out initial assessments of need, expertly navigating, signposting and putting services in place in the immediate aftermath of major trauma, including talking about and facilitating early access to legal support to aid rehabilitation.
To establish and develop relationships with key stakeholders to promote Day One and address the needs of those affected by catastrophic injury.
To work as part of the wider Day One Service’s team and organisation, taking responsibility for own record keeping and data collection in line with regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
The post holder’s primary duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Work closely, and in partnership, with NHS clinical staff and relevant community and voluntary sector organisations, to address the needs of patients, and those closest to them, affected by catastrophic injury.

Operate a case management approach to individuals, assessing and identifying needs, putting support in place including signposting, making referrals and direct support.

Provide consistency in assessment of all patients, irrespective of injury cause, age, status, giving access to the earliest possible specialist legal advice which supports rehabilitation and NHS cost recovery.

Maintain detailed case records, including accurate records of activity and intervention, using Day One’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, capturing and storing data in line with Day One policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

Implement processes and procedures to collect patient and family feedback and contribute to ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Day One services through providing relevant information, case studies and reports.

Build awareness of the role and charity’s purpose through building strong and effective relationships across the regional major trauma network, ensuring those who need it have access to Day One support.

Work closely with local authority, statutory and voluntary organisations to provide patient and family support and advocacy.

Help establish other support mechanisms once a person is no longer within the hospital setting, supporting the patient discharge process in conjunction with leadership from NHS staff.

Identify and support the recruitment and supervision of Day One volunteers, where appropriate.

Support the roll out of our Peer Support Service, focussed on promoting awareness and uptake within the region.

Work closely with the wider team on performance, quality, safety and effectiveness of all services, ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies are followed.

Work closely with our Fundraising and Communications team, supporting national activity, as well as regional initiatives to raise awareness and fundraise.

Be prepared to travel across the region and, on occasion, to other sites and national meetings as required.

Our Communications & Campaigns Coordinator leads our communications and supporter engagement work including developing and implementing our communications strategy and events plan.
Big Leaf Foundation is now entering its sixth year and we are looking to the future. To ensure we can continue to fulfil our objectives we want to engage more people in our work and make our collective ‘voice’ louder through increased awareness of the issues and how people can help.
We’re determined to put user-voice at the heart of what we do and to provide a more hopeful and human-centred narrative around asylum. Our Communications Coordinator will lead this work, building case studies and supporting our young people to share their stories through our new Youth Ambassadors programme. KEY TASKS
Communications

Develop and implement a communications strategy to engage more people in our work and make our collective ‘voice’ louder through increased awareness of both the issues and how people can support.

Cultivate existing and new relationships with the media/journalists to grow the organisation’s influence and reach.

Create, edit and proofread materials including website content, newsletter, blogs, reports, social media and multi-media content etc.

Support the wider Big Leaf Foundation (BLF) team to create impactful content that is consistently on brand, representative of BLF’s voice and in line with the overall communications strategy, providing team training and editorial oversight.

Contribute to BLF fundraising activities through the writing of case studies/content as needed and/or supporting community fundraising events;

Ensure BLF communications represent the voices of the young people we support;

Recognise, understand and manage risks around the identification of our beneficiaries in
communications and media work, keeping safeguarding front of mind at all times;

Support BLFs Youth Ambassadors to amplify our message and that of our beneficiaries e.g. through
print and broadcast media; partner training; participation in relevant consultations/focus groups
etc including arranging speaking events and helping them prepare for interviews;

Regularly evaluate communication activities and make recommendations for continuous
improvement.
Events

Lead on our Refugee Week plans each June - working with young people to co-create a series of events and activities that provide the opportunity for our young people, team, volunteers, supporters and wider network to come together and build connections while also maximising comms potential around RW;

Support the wider Big Leaf team in planning and delivering other community events throughout the year; specifically providing communications support and ensuring the events have local media coverage where appropriate.
Campaigns & advocacy

Cultivate relationships with organisations that campaign to improve the rights of displaced people; and/or ensure existing legal rights are upheld, exploring how Big Leaf Foundation (BLF) can best support and add value to these campaigns.

The opportunity
Oxford Physics is one of the top five Physics departments in the world. Philanthropy has played a key role in enabling the ambitions of the Department and wider University, and we are seeking a talented fundraiser who is excited by the opportunity to raise money to support ground-breaking research that tackles the world’s hardest challenges; to enable students from around the world and from every background to come and study at Oxford; and to help promote the public understanding of Physics. About the role:
As Chief Executive Officer you will have overall responsibility for operational delivery and strategic development. About Imagine Action
Imagine Action is a project born out of a shared concern about an escalating culture war, increasing polarisation in society and the need to adapt to a much more distributed, evolving information ecosystem. Imagine Action helps communities across Wales redefine public narratives, inspire climate action, reduce social polarisation, and counter misinformation. It reframes climate action from a false narrative of sacrifice to one of collective opportunity, presenting locally relevant, values-driven stories rooted in fairness, unity, and community well-being. The concept was co-created over 2 year period by the Climate Cymru movement and the voices of communities around Wales. The work is based on cutting edge communications principles as well as the latest narrative and social change research. A pilot project designed a set of tools that makes cutting-edge narrative and communications principles easy to use. Imagine Action will upskill and train groups, organisations and networks around Wales to use these tools to tell their stories in a compelling, human and relatable way. Specific responsibilities for this role include:
Strategic Leadership and Project Oversight
● Lead the delivery of the Imagine Action project, ensuring alignment with Climate Cymru’s vision, values, and strategic objectives.

Today, the MMHA is a UK-wide charity and network of over 130 member organisations. We work with parents, families, clinicians, and academics to ensure all women, birthing people, babies, and families have access to high-quality, compassionate mental health care. We bring the perinatal mental health community together and make change happen by combining the power of real-life experience with clinical and professional expertise.
We actively contribute to significantly improving mental health outcomes for people who experience discrimination, trauma and deprivation during the perinatal period and tackle systemic inequity and injustice.
We are now seeking a Chief Executive to take over from our interim CEO and lead the MMHA in the next stage of our development.
We have recently been awarded a 5-year grant by the National Lottery Community Fund to tackle maternal mental health inequities through community action. This project, due to start in Spring 2025, will develop, test and replicate a model of community-based decision making, support and service provision that is led by women with lived experience. This project aims to achieve system change locally and nationally to improve the mental health of marginalised women and is the next phase of the MMHA’s programme to tackle maternal mental health inequities across the UK. This will be our biggest piece of work over the next five years and will dovetail with other activities aimed at achieving our mission, where funding allows.
