Summary of Role and Person:
The Volunteer Coordinator supports the development and management of volunteer roles at The Jumbulance Trust. This includes recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers, particularly those in carer and fundraising roles. All administrative duties involved in creating records and storing personal data of volunteers.

Development and Recognition
- Promote Jumbulance Trust as a top choice for volunteers by attending events and building community relationships.

Strategic Initiatives:
- Develop new volunteering opportunities and support Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
- Establish training placements with nursing and health professions students.

The Donor Relations Officer is a key role within the Development Office at the University of London. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a best practice programme of stewardship, donor engagement and recognition for the University of London’s donors, ensuring sustainability and growth of the donor base. Who are we looking for?

**Exciting Interim Opportunity: Advice Service Manager**
On behalf of our client, a well-established advice and support organisation in East Berkshire, we are seeking an experienced Interim Advice Service Manager for a 6-month contract. This is a unique opportunity to step into a key leadership role, ensuring the effective delivery of essential services to the local community.
About the Role:
As the Interim Advice Service Manager, you will be instrumental in maintaining smooth operations while the organisation undergoes a structural review and recruits a permanent Head of Advice. This role involves managing a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, ensuring the highest quality advice is provided to those in need. With an immediate start required, this role is critical in ensuring continuity and stability in the advice service during this transition period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage daily operations of the advice service, ensuring staff and volunteers are effectively supported, trained, and supervised.
- Maintain and improve the quality of advice delivered to clients across a range of areas, including housing, debt, employment, and benefits.
- Support the expansion of the volunteer team, particularly in the delivery of services in the Slough area.
- Work closely with the Chief Officer and interim Head of Advice on service planning, ensuring staffing and resources are in place to meet demand.
- Contribute to the organisation’s ongoing review of advice service structure, with a focus on long-term sustainability.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in managing advice services or similar roles, with a track record of delivering high-quality performance.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop staff and volunteers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- Expertise in advice areas such as housing, benefits, debt, and employment, ensuring that staff and volunteers are supported in handling complex cases.
- A proactive problem-solver who thrives in a busy and evolving environment.
What’s On Offer:
- Competitive salary: £40,000 to £45,000 (FT, pro-rata for part-time).
- 6-month interim contract, with the possibility of part-time reduced hours for exceptional candidates (minimum 30 hours per week).

Hope Health Action is a Christian NGO with the mission of empowering local communities to provide life-saving health and disability care for the world’s most vulnerable. Haiti was where we first began our work, founding a hospital, which went on to become a 100 bed facility that treated over 35,000 patients every year. Our programmes also include a Wheelchair Distribution Centre, a respite home for children with disabilities, a spinal cord injury rehabilitation centre, and large-scale community health initiatives. We are now one of the leading healthcare providers in northern Haiti, with a national reputation and a wide network of local and international partners.
Historically, most of our funding has come from UK and European trusts and foundations, and while we are keen to maintain and build on this, we are also keen to maximise the opportunities available to us as a US 501(c)(3) charity and expand our portfolio of US funders. We seek a skilled grant writer to help us navigate and access these opportunities, ensuring our projects receive the support needed to continue transforming lives. Your expertise will be crucial in helping us achieve our mission across new horizons.
You would be responsible for the following:
- Writing, managing and reporting for all Haiti focussed grants
- Developing and executing a strategy to maximse trust and grant income for our Haiti based projects
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with exisiting and new funders.

About the role
The Head of Alumni Engagement is a senior role within the Development Office, which will focus on encouraging a positive experience for our global community of 500,000 alumni. You will support the University’s mission to enable access to education and create an environment for alumni and supporters to contribute to the University’s strategic and philanthropic fundraising priorities. In this crucial role, you will also need to collaborate with and support colleagues and activities across the UoL federation where appropriate.
Who are we looking for?
This role requires a deep understanding of the broader issues affecting the HE sector, particularly how they impact philanthropy and engagement. You will be confident working with senior staff and have comprehensive knowledge of alumni relations, legacies, volunteering, and charitable giving. You will be adept at networking, problem-solving, and delegating tasks within a team, while effectively prioritizing actions and advising senior leaders. Experience in building and managing partnerships is essential, as is the ability to analyse and present data clearly. You will be able to demonstrate discretion, strategic decision-making, and a meticulous approach to managing reputational risks. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain and establish relationships within the University and with external stakeholders are also crucial.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver a professional, impartial, pragmatic and outcome focused advice service to all clients.
• Give advice on the following areas:
o Income maximisation
o Budgeting
o Priority debts
o Unsecured debts
o Debt solutions
• Identify client vulnerabilities and prioritise household emergencies.
• Provide comprehensive advice, next steps and actions in a way that the client can easily understand.
• Signpost or refer to the appropriate party at the earliest opportunity.
• Maintain punctual, accurate and compliant records using our case management system.
You will be provided with training, which will enable you to meet the needs of the role and progress to accredited advisor standard, Training will be ongoing and by a variety of methods including in-house, courses, webinars and e-learning.
You will have:
• Strong, proven customer service skills
• The proven ability to build rapport and empathise with clients from a variety of circumstances.
• The proven ability to deal calmly and professionally with difficult situations, e.g., Supporting clients at risk of imminent enforcement action, facing emotional distress and or suffering from mental health or physical health challenges
• A positive, resilient and pragmatic attitude
• Consistent attention to detail and ability to adhere to necessary guidance and rules
