JOB PURPOSE

The post holder will support all aspects of business development to achieve the Association’s objectives, including securing funding from a range of sources; keeping abreast of income sources and funding opportunities; assisting and supporting the development of bids, tenders, and making applications to grant makers, trusts and others with funds to invest.

Some Key Tasks & Responsibilities:-

· Preparing quality funding bids and tender submissions (including to Trusts; Foundations’ Lottery; Local Authorities, Health Service, etc.) to meet the Association’s objectives.

· Keep abreast of funding and tendering opportunities from public, government, trusts and private sectors ensuring WLCA managers and consortium partners are kept informed, where appropriate.

· Maximising opportunities by preparing and submitting expressions of interest /pre-qualification through to the tender stage, objectively reviewing bid submissions and making appropriate changes/improvements.

· Ensuring bids and tender submissions are developed with community engagement and input, ideally coproduced with community members and potential beneficiaries.

· Supporting the development of project concepts by researching and developing relationships with prospective funders.

· Liaising with and supporting consortium funding opportunities, applications, and project development in line with the tendering and funding bid requirements.

· Developing and maintaining a database of funders and creating good practice fundraising guides and model applications.

· Developing links with the private sector to provide sponsorships and funding through Social Value and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Trusts and Grants Fundraiser

We have an opportunity for a Trusts and Grants Fundraiser to join the team in this hybrid-working role.

This is an exciting time to join an organisation with an established youth work provision, strong reputation in private, public and voluntary sectors, and a successful track record of grants and trusts which includes a capital expenditure investment of £1.4M.

Position: Trusts and Grants Fundraiser/Coordinator

Location: Manchester/Hybrid

Salary: £33,750 - £35,625 pro rata (actual part-time salary £27,000 - £28,500)

Contract: Permanent 

Hours: Part-time, 32 hours per week

About the Role

The organisation delivers a range of targeted youth programmes for children and young people who benefit from more intensive support, to reach their goals including mental-health and emotional wellbeing support, careers and enterprise initiatives, youth voice and social action opportunities; and programmes addressing serious youth violence and exploitation.

We are looking for a Trusts and Grants Manager to oversee the fundraising of all restricted income.  Restricted income makes up 70% of the overall income stream, and enables the charity to deliver core youth work activities as well as targeted programmes such as employability, health improvement and social prescribing, detached youth work and more, with over 50 funded contracts per year. 

Key duties include:

• Manage a pipeline of restricted income
• Propose, cost and write trusts and grants applications that typically span from £5,000 to £100,000
• Support the Director of Fundraising to complete applications for unrestricted funding
• Keep up to date with local and national funding opportunities
• Chair the bi-weekly trusts and grants meetings
• Work closely with the Director of Youth Services to mobilise successful bids
• Support during the preparation of financial audits

This role will include both line management and hands on grant application and stewarding of commissioners. 

About You

We are looking for an experienced trust and grant bid writer, with experience of developing and submitting high quality funding applications and approaches to funders.

You will also have experience of:

• Gathering, understanding and presenting complex information and data in a clear, concise way
• Working within a charity fundraising environment
• Cultivating relationships with funders, both via verbal and written methods of communication
• Working in a network of organisations

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus.

Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. This role will report to the CEO of the charity and will work closely as part of the Senior Leadership team. The Director of Growth will have oversight of Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth within the charity. This will involve line management of the Fundraising Manager and Executive Assistant in the team. The charity has a vision to champion accessibility UK wide and to set up twenty clinics in partnership with local churches by 2030, there’s a current pipeline in progress to achieve this. Income & Business Development Manager

St. Joseph's Hospice Merseyside is the oldest and largest hospice on Merseyside, providing specialized end-of-life care for patients with a wide range of life-limiting conditions. The hospice's 31-bed Inpatient Unit is located in a beautiful setting within a conservation area and 12 acres of natural woodland in Thornton, Merseyside. The hospice's specialist healthcare teams care for over 200 patients and their families from across Liverpool, Sefton, and West Lancashire every year. Our services are free to our patients and it costs around £10k per day to run the hospice. 

With the changing horizon of Fundraising, this is a new role for the hospice and pivotal to our future income generation activity for the Charity. The Income & Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to raise funds and secure partnerships for the hospice. Relationship Fundraiser

1.0 Job Purpose

The Relationship Fundraiser plays a crucial role in supporting the Relationship Manager in advancing North Yorkshire Hospice Care’s mission by assisting in the enhancement and management of relationships with individual donors.

The Relationship Fundraiser will assist in identifying potential donors, understanding their motivations, and contributing to tailored engagement strategies. Through these efforts, the fundraiser will help to ensure donors feel valued and connected to the charity's cause.

This role will primarily focus on growing and maintaining various fundraising avenues, including in memory, regular giving, facilitating legacy gifts or bequests in wills, and singular donations. The role aims to maximise opportunities for donor engagement and individual giving.

2.0 Key Tasks

• In-Memorium Fundraising Support: Assist in implementing sensitive and impactful strategies to encourage donations in memory of loved ones, ensuring memories are honoured and families and friends are supported throughout their giving journey.
• Regular Giving Support: Aid in driving the regular giving program to secure a sustainable income stream. This will involve supporting in creating tailored appeals, managing communications, and contributing to enhancing donor satisfaction and retention through regular updates and engagements.
• General Donations Assistance: Provide support in overseeing the process for general donations, maximising the ease and effectiveness of one-time and ongoing contributions. At the core of Matrix our work is about building relationships to catalyse change for young people and their families. This role will contribute to this by supporting them in a variety of ways including, but not limited to:

Wellbeing Support in the Community

• Assessing the needs and strengths of the referred young person and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change.
• Designing, delivering and evaluating interventions for young people which aim to improve mental health and well-being, build on existing strengths and increase levels of resilience.
• Recording and collecting data with various tools such as goal-based outcomes (GBO’s) and use this to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
• Taking responsibility for your own caseload of young people and families, some with complex and multiple needs. Involving young people and their parents in the co-production of programmes, activities and services.
• Working collaboratively with Surrey and Borders NHS Partnership, Surrey Children’s Services, local CAMHS teams and other community-based services to provide the most effective service for children, young people and families.
• Keeping accurate records of individual engagement, evidence of change and celebrating progress with children and young people.
• Providing records and reporting the appropriate data to ensure support programmes can be accurately monitored and evaluated. Applying safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Providing written case studies and ‘Moments of Impact’ reports as evidence of the effectiveness of individual interventions.
• Raising the positive profile of Matrix by building professional relationships in a multiagency environment including through networking events in the relevant local area, such as meeting with the community safety wardens, local schools, churches, Police and PCSOs.

Wellbeing Support in Schools

Our work in schools is varied and you may be expected to:

• Conduct one-to-one sessions to listen to, analyse and respond to the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs of young people.
• Manage, monitor and evaluate caseloads within your allocated school as part of the one-to-one support sessions.
• Develop and run a variety of contact points and projects for young people across the school, including group sessions and drop-ins and after school projects.
• Build good working relationships with school staff and other relevant local services.

Community Youth Work Community

Youth Work takes many forms and while the actual work is subject to change according to the current needs of young people or Matrix, it may include:

• Detached youth work.
• Running/assisting with after-school and/or holiday clubs.
• Mentoring young people.
• Supporting young people in a social enterprise environment.
• Research of young people’s needs in the local community.

Youth Café

The Youth Café is our flagship project and is a fun open access drop-in run by our team after school at our social enterprise café - The Hideaway. As a Community Wellbeing Practitioner some of your time may be spent assisting the Community Youth Work Team in delivering this project and it may include:

• Helping to create a safe, fun and inspiring environment for the young people that attend.
• Planning, preparing and delivering quality youth sessions/workshops.
• Building healthy relationships with young people that attend the sessions, identifying and responding to the needs that may arise.
• Promoting the activities of the Youth Café in the community.

General

• Contribute to, and be involved in fundraising and other activities that benefit Matrix, including whole staff retreat days, fundraising activities and outreach/networking events.
• During school holidays and after school, be involved in projects organised and run by Matrix, including holiday and after-school clubs within your allocated hours and as agreed by your line manager.
• Working as part of a team and attending team meetings, training events and participating fully in one to one, peer and group supervision.
• Working with children, young people and families from diverse cultural and financial backgrounds.
• Representing Matrix by providing a positive role-model to children, young people and families.
• Promoting our activities in both the community and in a school environment through; social media engagement and assemblies.
• Ensure you work to the Youth Work Standards.
