Job description

Recovery Coordinator

Location: London, DA8 1RQ

Salary: £26,250 - £34,650 per annum

’s vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. They tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.

They have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year their services support around 125,000 people.

The Role

As a member of the multi disciplinary  team, you will be running a variety of peer support groups as well as working with service users one-on-one in order to build their recovery capital and achieve their recovery goals. They aim to help people to build and sustain long-term recovery from addiction and encourage self-efficacy believing that everyone is an expert in themselves, they often need a helping hand on their journey. The team consists of 7 Recovery Coordinators and 1 Trainee Recovery Coordinators working alongside 2 Criminal Justice RC's. The role will be based at  Erith health centre, which is a drug and alcohol service for people over the age of 18 in Bexley. It is ran by SLAM and focus' on psychosocial  interventions working within prison and probation services.

They are seeking a positive and motivated individuals who have the ability to navigate a fast-paced and challenging client group with a variety of complex needs.  Direct substance use knowledge is not essential but preferred, and they encourage applications from those with transferrable skills and experience.

You will be expected to:

  • Manage a service user caseload, devising, implementing and reviewing on-going recovery plans and treatment, liaising closely with the full range of workers and skills within the service team, including family members and significant others as appropriate.
  • Carry out triage/screening assessments and comprehensive assessments with service users.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to undertake shared assessments, key working and interventions to promote individual service user progression from engagement, through structured treatment to self-sustained recovery.
  • Facilitate service user access to treatment and community resources to increase recovery and social capital, supporting service users and their families within their local community.
  • Develop and deliver quality programs and packages of work/ psychosocial interventions that meet local need across both group work and one to one formats.

Skills and Qualifications

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience within the Drug and Alcohol Sector
  • Experience delivering group interventions 
  • Understanding of individuals impacted on the use of Ketamine.
