We are seeking to recruit a Communications Manager to lead on the development and delivery of PILC’s communications strategy with an aim to grow the organisation’s profile, increase the reach and influence of our work and develop supporter engagement.  

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Communications Manager to help us increase the impact of our work through cross-channel communications and grow the organisation’s profile to match the quality of the legal work we conduct. You will be joining at an exciting time when there is already some infrastructure in place but plenty of opportunity to make your mark on the development of our organisational approach to communications. You will work closely with the Director to develop and implement a cross-organisational communications strategy to extend our reach, brand awareness and increase donations. You will join a dedicated staff team who are all passionate about building power with working class and marginalised communities. You will be expected to work closely with staff across the organisation, supporters and the communities we serve, co-ordinating and delivering effective organisation wide communications. A demonstrable interest in social justice campaigning is essential.

About You

 We are looking for an experienced and creative communications all-rounder with a track record of implementing communications strategies for social change. You’ll be an effective project manager, able to work proactively and collaboratively with staff across the organisation to showcase the vital work colleagues in the litigation team conduct out of the spotlight. You will be confident in working with a variety of stakeholders, including journalists, lawyers and marginalised communities. You will be proactive, able to build and maintain relationships, develop effective cross-channel communications and manage a varied workload. You will be both able and happy to turn your hand to strategic thinking alongside day-to-day delivery, such as copy-editing news pieces for our website or writing press releases. You’ll be engaged with social justice campaigning and social media with an ability to identify and take advantage of relevant communications opportunities.

John Lyon’s Charity gives grants to benefit children and young up to the age of 25 (or upto 30 for younger people with special educational needs and/or disabilities) who live within nine Boroughs in West, Central and North London. Since 1991, JLC has been committed to transforming lives of children and young people by creating opportunities to learn, grow, and develop through Education. JLC has distributed over £298 million in grants to a range of organisations that seek to promote the life chances of children and young people through Education, with around £15 million in grants distributed each year.

The Grants Manager will be responsible for their own portfolio of grants as well as supporting the Grants Directorate with the development and execution of the Charity’s strategic objectives to maximise the benefit of the Charity’s funding

The role:

This is an exciting time to join the Charity as it embarks on a new chapter of its strategic objectives in grant giving. The Grants Manager will be responsible for end-to-end grant-making; assessing applications, making recommendations and monitoring of a portfolio of grants. The grants will be broad in range from smaller, single year grants under the School Holiday Activity Fund to multi-year, large grants within the Open Grants Programme. The role holder will work closely with other members of the Grants Team, including the Directors, to support learning, develop special initiatives and contribute to the creation of policy and processes.

The person:

The role will suit someone with previous grant-making experience who is seeking to develop their expertise in place-based grant-making and/or the CYP sector. Given the nature of the existing portfolio, experience of working with cultural organisations and education settings would be a particular benefit.

The JustMoney Movement is looking for a Communications & Events Coordinator (0.8 FTE) to help build our profile and reach, engaging diverse audiences from across the UK churches in learning, action and campaigning for a greener, fairer financial system and wider economy. You will be an outstanding communicator with the skills, passion and experience to engage new audiences in action for a more just use of money, and to bring existing audiences on a journey towards deeper engagement. You will be highly organised with a track record of delivering impactful events, resources and digital assets, ideally within a church or Christian organisation. This role is based mostly from home with 1 day a week in central London and some travel within the UK. This role requires applicants to have the right to live and work in the UK.  

Role Requirements

• Lead on the implementation of JustMoney Movement’s communications strategy, raising the profile of the organisation and our work, growing the scale, depth and diversity of engagement from across the UK churches, and ensuring the organisation remains on message both in content and visually.
• Oversee and develop our communications, including producing clear, consistent and credible copy, across media channels (including website, social media and email newsletters), to a variety of audiences, ensuring greater engagement and meaningful supporter journeys.
• Responsible for managing the delivery, administration and evaluation of JustMoney events including our annual conference, occasional online webinars and trainings, and overseeing our participation in external festivals and events such as Greenbelt.
• Project manage the production of resources and campaigns including our annual Tax Justice and Good Money Sunday packs and regular campaign actions, involving strong collaborations with external partners where possible, to create engaging content and reach new audiences.
• Have oversight of the JustMoney website, taking responsibility for its maintenance and development, ensuring that it is kept up to date with relevant, engaging content and is user-friendly to a wide range of audiences.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the media, acting as a primary press contact and proactively drive press coverage locally and nationally around key moments and campaigns.
• Use analytics tools to measure performance across communications, social media platforms and our website, contributing to regular monitoring and assessment so as to drive learning and improvement.
• Contribute to our financial sustainability through integrating donations asks into our individual and church engagement strategies and assisting with communications to potential donors including grant-making trusts.
• Provide administrative support to the movement including using a range of digital tools to facilitate engagement and deal with enquiries.

About the Role

As Rec Coordinator, you will work across all Youth Zone sessions and have responsibility for sessions for 8 – 19 year olds and up to 25 with those with disabilities. The Role will require you to be on 4 sessions a week across evenings and weekends.

The Rec area is the heart of the Youth Zone, buzzing with activities, games and engaging with young people. Ensuring there is a high-quality, creative and fun offer, focussed on the needs of young people and in line with the Youth Zone’s aspirations to provide members with the best possible experiences and opportunities, you will have a passion to put young people first.

You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the delivery and inputting towards the strategic delivery plan for the Youth Zone. This is a fun, exciting and challenging role in a new, growing, and ambitious charity and no two days will be the same.

About You

We are looking for a Recreational Coordinator with a relevant qualification or strong demonstrable experience in Youth Work. You will have evidence of ongoing professional development (for example Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Management) and experience of:

• Working with young people aged 8 to 19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) in a range of settings.
• Engaging vulnerable, disengaged or hard to reach young people in activities in-line with relevant guidance and good practice.
• Managing a staff team, ideally including volunteers.

You will have a willingness to work evenings and 4 of sessions across a 7 day a week provision.

The purpose of the role will be:

• To provide innovative, exciting and accessible youth work and youth projects to disabled young people aged 11-25 years old
• To support the running of girls group aged 11 – 25 years old
• To working alongside Caxton Youth Organisation colleagues to support children and young people from the Westminster community to run our youth programmes.
• To support the delivery of our holiday programmes; and residentials providing overnight disturbance cover where you will be responsible for our female member

Required skills, knowledge and qualifications

• A minimum of 1 years experience in the youth work sector.
• A minimum in Level 2 Youth Work.
• Excellent written and communication skills at all levels.
• A strong understanding of the principles of youth work as a distinctive practice of informal education and voluntary participation.
• A good understanding of inclusive practice including different communication methods e.g. Makaton.
• Advanced use of Microsoft packages.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.
• Is able to work as part of a team and to use own initiative.
• Is willing to travel and to work unsociable hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
• A highly motivated and creative youth worker.
• Strong empathy and a person centred approach.

Desirable

• Experience of supporting learning disabled and autistic young people.
• To have a driving licence and ability to drive a minibus (including a D1 licence and MIDAS qualification).
• First aid training.

We're looking for an efficient, friendly Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our team. Much of our work is delivered by volunteers, so this post is critical to our service delivery. You will recruit, induct, and coordinate volunteers; including leading our Good Neighbours Scheme and Befriending Scheme and supporting the recruitment for all other projects. 

About you: You will have experience of volunteering and in coordinating volunteers or staff, and have strong organisational and communication skills. You will be pro-active and diligent and able to solve problems as they arise. You will be the 'first point of contact' for most people getting in touch with FGN, and so you will have a welcoming, and compassionate demeanour and be able to represent FGN at events (partnership meetings, volunteer recruitment drives, fairs, etc). 

The role is based at our community centre in Fulham, Rosaline Hall (70 Rosaline Rd, SW6 7QT). With WFH potentially available for 4/5 of working hours.Hours: 9am - 5pm - Monday to Friday. 35 hours per week. Four days a week will be considered. About us

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage.

Our goal is to promote, preserve, and restore the mental health and wellbeing of women and girls, to empower them to make a total and sustainable recovery from the experiences of violence. VAWG crimes, which include domestic abuse, rape, sexual assault, stalking, and harassment, accounted for 20% of total police recorded crime in England and Wales between 2022 and 2023. About the role

We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. The Financial Controller is to lead on all financial systems set up and upgrades.

Although the organisation is well established, this is a growing sector, and the organisation has gone through rapid change over the past few years and is therefore offering the right candidate a great opportunity to deliver change and make a real difference to WGN’s staff and clients. 

Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the management and development of the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer.
• Preparing the year-end statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors.
• Responsible for ensuring that all financial controls are implemented and adhered to within the organisation, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Supporting non-finance colleagues and stakeholders in understanding all requirements related to the funding agreements.
• Leading the month-end process with the support of the Finance Business Partner and the Senior Finance Officer.
• Leading on all financial systems set up and upgrades.
• Ensuring that all restricted funds are used in accordance with the funding agreements.
• Responsible for treasury and investment management across the organisation.
• Ensuring all payroll payments are made on time.
• Leading the procurement function across the organisation.

About you

If you are someone who has strong financial reporting, budget setting, and year end processing skills, with a keen eye on details and drive to facilitate change and enhance the finance function this role would be for you. 

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience in working with the charity sector in a similar role for at least two years.
• Work well with non-finance colleagues and trustees in delivering key financial reports in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Be a qualified accountant.
• Be comfortable working in a hands-on environment
