Job Purpose: We are looking to recruit an empathic, warm, friendly, hard-working and flexible person who is passionate about improving young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health. They must be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage their own workload. They must be able to work independently within the community.

Salary: £ 26,000 - £29,120

Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Working pattern is Monday 12:30am-8:30pm, Tuesday 9:00am to 5:00pm, Wednesday 10.30am to 6:30pm, Thursday 9:00am -5:00pm, Friday 10:00am - 6:00pm.

Location: Phoenix Youth Centre plus working across locations in East Surrey as necessary.

Annual leave:  Five weeks plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time workers) Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of six weeks after six years’ service.  (pro-rata for part time workers) 

The holiday year runs from 1  April to 31 March each year.

Main Responsibilities:

 To help assess the needs and strengths of the referred young adult and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change

 To deliver early support/targeted group interventions which aim to improve mental health and well-being, build on existing strengths and increase levels of resilience

 Record and collect data with various tools such as Outcome Star and Session Feedback Questionnaires to evaluate the ef fectiveness of interventions

 To take responsibility for own caseload of young adults, some with complex and multiple needs, with support f rom senior EWMH staff

 To help involve project participants in the co-production of programmes, activities and services

 To be proactive in connecting with other agencies who can provide activities to support Step Forward sessions

 Attending networking events and meetings, online and in-person, to promote Step Forward

 To work collaboratively with Surrey CCGs, GPs, local CYPS and adult mental health teams and other community-based services to provide the most ef fective service for young adults and reach targets set by partners whilst keeping within the YMCA values of service

Join our retail team as an Assistant Shop Manager at our Dorking shop and support the Shop Manager to maximise shop profit by achieving budgeted income, controlling shop expenditure in line with the shop's budget, and by recruiting and retaining a motivated team of volunteers. You will support the promotion of sustainable shopping and the shop’s social media to increase audience reach, attract customers, donors and volunteer supporters to deliver the Retail Strategy.

Income generation

• To support the Shop Manager to manage the Retail budget to achieve agreed targets:
• Help maximise shop sales by achieving agreed targets both through donated stock and bought in/new goods. This involves proactive stock generation, optimum pricing, processing stock to agreed amounts and stock planning.
• Achieve Gift Aid sales conversion target through maximising new donor sign up and encouraging repeat donations.
• Achieve the shops additional fundraising activities i.e., Christmas appeal sales targets through involving the shops team.
• Maintain high levels of shop presentation by merchandising and housekeeping to agreed standards as set out in the Shops Operations manual.
• Managing the stock levels of bought in/new goods, to include ordering of more stock as and when necessary.
• Assist in holding and attending Fundraising events to promote the awareness of The Children’s Trust.
• Source links with local communities to promote Retail in the community via media and other sources.

Administration and compliance

• To ensure adherence to The Children’s Trust policies and procedures, in particular ensuring full compliance of the shops in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Trading Standards, Risk Assessments, Gift Aid, Lottery and all other legal or statutory requirements:
• Assist in controlling shop expenditure through effective cost control of weekly expenses.
• Ensure minimum losses of both stock and cash by following bank and till procedures and safeguarding the property of The Children’s Trust at all times.
• Adhere to all Policies and Procedures including those relating to the compliance with Health and Safety responsibilities, Gift Aid and Lottery.
• Complete all administration to meet the requirements, standard and deadlines for whom this work is produced.
• Embrace the change and development of new technology in the shop, for example The Loop (internal intranet) and Chariot (EPOS till system).
• Timely efficient responses to requests for information including voice and email messages.
• To fulfil any other agreed duties that may at times be reasonably required.

Personnel and Training

• To support the Shop Manager to ensure the Shop’s team are recruited, retained and developed:
• Led by the Shop Manager - provides positive, visible and proactive leadership to the Shops team.
• Assist in managing all employees and volunteers within the Shop in accordance with the aims and values of The Children’s Trust.
• Deputise and be accountable for all Shop Manager duties as and when necessary, in their absence due to sickness, holiday or recruitment.
• Assist the Shop Manager to recruit, induct, support, train and retain team of shop volunteers.
• Attend where appropriate, training courses relevant to the development of the role and Retail Sales meetings if required and cascade information to team as appropriate.
• Assist at other shops if requested and where reasonable.

Customer Service

• To ensure customer care and quality of service.
• Provide excellent customer care through quality of service, dealing with complaints both efficiently and effectively, and having a good understanding of what The Children’s Trust does.

Reporting directly to the Head of Service, the Operational Manager will be responsible for leading the process management of Knowsley’s Integrated Youth Service (IYS) Offer. With a strong understanding of young people’s services and a commitment to quality youth work, the post holder will create and maintain effective systems linking face to face interventions with the capturing of robust and accurate outcome measurement data.

The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the Targeted 1-1 offer as part of the IYS offer in Knowsley including line management of designated staff, financial management, and networking with other key services.

The post holder will support all aspects of the wider IYS ensuring that MYA’s internal systems which govern finance, purchasing, recruitment and quality control are followed closely, while acting as a key figure in connecting Knowsley operations with Head Office and Support Services.

The post holder must hold relevant qualification to at least NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a related subject.

Sleep difficulties and sensory needs are a large part of the role to enable veterans to live as they want to so experience in these areas would be beneficial.

You will have the opportunity to work in the homes and local communities and be able to support them with physical and mental health needs that are creating barriers to meaningful occupation. Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects. Since resuming services post-Covid, we have realized the needs and wants of the community have shifted from our previous offer. The role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Strategic development and oversight of community programmes for children, adults and across multiple generations

Purpose of Role

This role takes a data-led approach to maximising the impact of our communications to raise the profile of the organisation and achieving business outcomes through strategic communication and marketing efforts.

The role holder will work alongside the wider Communications & Campaigns team to deliver agreed GB-wide communications and manage nation-specific communications as part of an integrated and coordinated programme of communications.

The role holder has an innate connection and understanding of the Welsh context and can adapt and deliver national issues to local audiences, as well as bringing our work in Wales to a national audience across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

Communications planning

• Work closely with the Ramblers Cymru team to stay abreast of projects and local issues.
• Work with the Strategic Communications Manager to lead a structured communications planning process that ensures key audiences are receiving timely communications in line with their needs, via appropriate channels (GB-wide or nation-specific). A key part of this process will be sequencing to ensure that audiences are not overwhelmed by multiple/fragmented messages.
• Work closely with the broader communications team to develop strategically aligned messaging and campaign assets for both GB-wide and nation-specific communications activities and advocacy campaigns.

Communications Delivery

• Project manage and deliver GB-wide and nation-specific communications activities across owned, earned and (where relevant) paid channels, including managing timeframes and budgets, mobilising other teams, seeking collaboration opportunities with external partners, setting and measuring KPIs

Channel management

• Work in partnership with the Member & Supporter Experience team and the broader communications team to plan and deliver GB-wide and nation-specific member and volunteer communications.
   
• Work in partnership with the Social & Community Officer to present aligned messaging to our audiences, to drive engagement with our posts and to grow the reach of our GB-wide and nation-specific social media channels.

• Work in partnership with the Website Officer to present aligned messaging to our audiences and to maximise the impact of our website and digital marketing to grow our supporter base.

• Work in partnership with the PR & Media Officer to maximise the reach and impact of our public relations across our target audiences in England, Scotland & Wales.

Content Development

• Work in collaboration with the wider Communications & Campaigns team to source and produce communications materials and assets (photos, stories, videos, graphics etc) that can be used on GB-wide and nation-specific channels to help build the Ramblers brand and relevance to our target audiences
   

Data analysis and reporting:

• Monitor and analyse communications performance using key metrics and data insights.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to inform future campaigns and strategies.
   

Innovation and improvement:

• Apply data insights to shape and improve channel strategy and tactics, using a test-and-learn approach.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance campaign effectiveness.
• Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve campaign strategies.

Other

• Undertake such other duties as may be required of the post.
• Engage and proactively develop excellent working relationships across the organisation.

The Person 

Knowledge and Experience

• Ability to develop and implement effective communications activities aligned with organisational goals.

• Proficient in the Welsh language. As a minimum be able to review copy provided by a translator. Ideally able to write Welsh copy from scratch and conduct media interviews in Welsh.

• Proven experience in managing and executing successful paid and no cost/low-cost communications campaigns, preferably within a non-profit or advocacy/campaigning organization.

• Multi-channel communications and marketing experience including PR, social media and digital

• Experience of writing for different audiences ensuring key messages are delivered in the brand tone of voice

• Strong skills in creating engaging content across various media platforms.

• Proficiency in analysing campaign performance data and deriving actionable insights.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and public relations.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

• Strong organisational skills with experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Community Development Officer – Southampton (England South)

We are recruiting a Community Development Officer to engage key partners and stakeholders in the region tailoring support, training and education to create suicide safer communities.

In this role you will:

· Identify, develop and maintain effective partnerships with local communities, volunteers and key partners across the region to engage them in the prevention of young suicide.

· Proactively promote suicide prevention including raising the profile of PAPYRUS and engaging with those personally affected by young suicide.

· Equip a wide range of stakeholders to enable them to create sustainable suicide safer communities through the provision of tailored support, training and education.

· Deliver training and awareness raising products to a variety of groups including professionals, parents, young people, volunteers and other trainers.

· Contribute to the development and review of projects, and education and training products, in line with the Strategic Plans.

· Contribute to and promote campaigns, training and opportunities as outlined in the Regional and Strategic Plans.

· Represent the charity at events including conferences, panels, working groups and through media channels as required.

· Record, monitor and report on data to evaluate our projects and demonstrate impact.

To be successful in this role you will have:

· Previous experience working in a community setting, delivering information and training sessions, leading workshops or educational activities

· A proven track record of networking and building and managing effective relationships, tailoring the approach to meet the differing needs of the audience

· Experience as a qualified ASIST Trainer or willingness to gain qualification and experience

· Experience of using own initiative and creativity to develop a project, programme or area of work

· The ability to travel to different locations across Southampton and the South of England to attend meetings, events and deliver training.

Salary: £29,269 per annum (SCP 18) progressing by increments to £32,076 per annum (SCP 23).

About this role

This new role, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, is an exciting opportunity to join our team who have been supporting adults with learning disabilities for almost 40 years. As we look to the future, we need to consider new opportunities to build partnerships and collaborations to build a strong, resilient network of third-sector organisations in Swindon and the surrounding area.

Main responsibilities

• Work with the trustees, staff, volunteers and members to develop and deliver against a Strategic Business Plan.

• To act as the lead relationship manager with partners on behalf of The Open Door Centre.

• Take responsibility for diversifying fundraising, grants and income streams in line with the strategy and business development plan, be proactive in developing new leads and connections.
• Explore and develop joint grant bids by liaising with external partners to support grant applications that align with our strategic aims.
• Develop, monitor and maintain key systems and processes, such as effective funder reporting and review meetings, and monitoring and reporting on fundraising KPIs.

Skills, competencies and experience

1. Skills and experience in third sector fundraising, preferably including corporate fundraising, funder reporting and grants and confidence in identifying and developing new opportunities.
2. A demonstrable proactive approach to engaging with new and existing funders to set up and develop lasting relationships.
3. Ability to prepare high-quality funding proposals/grant applications and reports, adapting the communication style for different audiences and stakeholders to maximise impact.
4. A skilled communicator (verbal and written) who can gather information and enthuse individuals both internally and externally.
5. The ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities to meet deadlines.
6. Excellent organisational skills with firm understanding of KPIs, targets, budgeting, and risk mitigation plans.
7. Proactive, positive and self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and inspire and enthuse others, and overcome hurdles to achieve results.
8. IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, the internet and social media.

Other information

This post will be a hybrid role with some time spent in the Centre in Gorse Hill, Swindon, some remote work, and attendance at meetings and events in the Swindon area - this could include evenings and weekends.

Trusts and Foundations Manager

 This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.

Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.  

Administrative Compliance: Lead and manage, robust and professional grant management, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose, streamlined and accessible. Remain compliant with grant terms and conditions, ensuring you are clearly communicating the unique contours of the DEC model whilst providing comprehensive and inspiring impact reporting.

Relationship Management: Maintain regular contact and collaboration with internal teams to collate a high-quality suite of communication materials and stewardship plans specific to a trust and foundation audience. Proactively reach out and build long-lasting relationships with funders to reach ambitious fundraising targets.

Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor, measure and evaluate progress against the DEC’s strategic goals and funds raised from trusts and foundations. Prepare regular reports for senior management and trustees on the development, progress and future strategic actions for trusts and foundations at the DEC.

2. Researching funding opportunities, competitors and market trends.

3. Developing and maintaining an annual calendar of community fundraising activities.

4. Identifying new business development opportunities and developing a pipeline of opportunities and proposals.

5. Management and growth of Inspire's entry to mid-level corporate partnerships.

6. Working with delivery team colleagues to ensure funders’ reports are completed on time and to a high standard.
