About the role:
This role is a hybrid working role based in Merton Civic Centre.
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.

A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, feeding difficulties or poor mental health.
Our Hackney Parent Support project is commissioned by Hackney Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings and parenting courses for families throughout the Hackney region. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.
We are seeking a capable service delivery manager who is passionate about supporting parents and infant feeding to lead this project. This role is community-based and will include travel across the Hackney region with some homeworking (expenses will be reimbursed).
About the Role
You will be responsible for managing the parent support project in its entirety across the region. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
· Leading on perinatal peer support across the region.
· Managing the project staff team.
· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Hackney area and ensuring all services are accessible and inclusive.
· Engaging with communities through networking with other local organisations.
· Report progress on project status, timelines and delivery against key performance indicators.
· Participate in local perinatal networking/task and finish projects, so that the programme is an integral part of the local perinatal and infant feeding provision landscape and is able to advocate for and chaperone perinatal service users at a strategic level, raising the profile of NCT’s perinatal offer locally and nationally.
You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.
Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our commissioners, staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word, and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires lived experience of breastfeeding. The training can be undertaken within your working hours. There will also be training on the EPEC (Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities course) provided by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
The role is between 28 - 35 hours per week which will be predominantly Monday to Friday within the working day, however, will include occasional evening and weekends. This is a community-based role travelling across Hackney borough, with some home working.

RASASC is a registered charity which has been providing support to survivors of rape and sexual abuse of all genders (both recent and non-recent) and young people aged over 13, from across Surrey since 1992.
We provide an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Service. ISVAs support survivors to help them overcome the abuse they have suffered and to rebuild their lives. This service also includes supporting the survivor to seek justice through the judicial system, should the survivor wish.
We also provide one-to-one counselling, group work, youth counselling and a family support programme, and a national Telephone Helpline.
Volunteers are an important part of the work we do. Volunteers staff our Helpline and many of our qualified counsellors work on a voluntary basis with survivors of rape and sexual abuse.
ISVA
ISVAs are survivor-focused advocates, who support survivors of recent and non-recent rape and sexual abuse to enable them to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse they have experienced. An ISVA provides individual support and this will vary from client to client.
This role is based at the RASASC Guildford office and will work across Surrey. The ISVA must have a full driving licence and use of a car that can be used for work purposes.
You will be part of a dedicated, experienced, and friendly team consisting of Eleven ISVAs. The ISVAs meet fortnightly for peer support and work collaboratively with each other to share knowledge. Each ISVA has a lead area of responsibility in addition to your caseload supporting a range of clients.
You will be provided with monthly clinical supervision and attend monthly one-to-one meetings with the ISVA team leader.
Job Description
- To support survivors of rape and sexual abuse.
- It is the responsibility of the ISVA to impartially advise the client on all options open to them, such as the Criminal Justice System, SARC, GUM clinic and other local services.
- The ISVAs are expected to balance a caseload that includes survivors progressing through the criminal justice process as well as survivors that have decided not to report, or who are no longer in the criminal justice process.
- The ISVA will be based at Guildford RASASC but will be expected to travel throughout Surrey.
- The ISVA is expected to carry out other duties from time to time which are broadly consistent with those in this document, as the job description cannot cover every issue which may arise within the post.
Key Tasks
· The ISVA will provide a survivor-focused, independent service, distinct from the role of a crisis worker or counsellor.
· Undertake risk assessment and support needs analysis with survivor and develop a support plan for the survivor.
· To provide advice and support across a wide range of issues, such as housing, health and education, that will help to support the survivor and ensure their ongoing safety in the aftermath of the abuse.
· Manage caseload and maintain necessary case files and records including monitoring information as required under funding conditions and by RASASC.
· To provide expert advice and support in relation to issues and the impact of rape and sexual abuse on this client group to other members of the ISVA team as well as the wider RASASC team.
The ISVA will be required to undertake accredited training specifically designed to support them in delivering this service. This training is delivered virtually and is over six modules. Each module is taught over two consecutive days to minimise the amount of time ISVAs are away.

About the Council
The role of Council is to lead on the GOC’s mission to protect the public by upholding high standards in the optical professions. The Council is composed of six lay members (including the Chair) and six registrant members (i.e. registered optometrists and dispensing opticians). At least one member of the Council must work wholly or mainly in each of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. One Council member acts as a Senior Council Member whose role is to carry out the Chair’s appraisal as well as provide a sounding board for the Chair and serve as an intermediary for Council members, Executive and stakeholders as necessary.
The successful candidate will contribute to Council by exercising oversight, ensuring effective corporate governance, and making high-level policy decisions. They will be able to operate strategically and impartially; listen, communicate, and influence effectively; exercise judgment; and inspire confidence and support amongst our stakeholders.
Remuneration and time commitment
Council members are remunerated in accordance with our member fees policy (£13,962 per annum plus reasonable travel and subsistence expenses) which is linked in the candidate pack. The member fee includes time for reading and preparation.
The appointed member will be expected to commit approximately 2-3 days per month. Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices at 10 Old Bailey, London, EC4M 7NG. There are occasional online catch-up meetings - these are currently scheduled on a Tuesday evening every 6-8 weeks, from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.

About this role
We are pleased to advertise for a Head of Death Penalty Projects- US to oversee our work against the death penalty in the United States of America.
Reprieve has worked against the death penalty since our founding. In recent years we have built a particular specialism in issues relating to lethal injection, the most popular execution method in the US. Lethal injection has been touted as more humane than other methods – a modern, clean, clinical way to execute. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Lethal injection executions go wrong more often than any other execution method, often resulting in prolonged and torturous executions, commonly known as “botched” executions. Through our work we aim to dispel the myth of the humane execution, working with allies across medicine, business and other sectors to end the misuse of medicines and medical technology in executions.
The existing portfolio of work includes litigation, investigation and analysis, corporate engagement, a wide range of public and private advocacy, and developing and maintaining world-leading expertise on execution methods, particularly the jurisprudence and science relevant to lethal injection.
Contract, location and salary
The role is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £59,226 per annum less any required deductions for tax and national insurance.Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work a minimum of 40% from the London office and the rest of the week from home. It also considers the psychological needs of staff: developing skills and knowledge, increasing motivation, job satisfaction and resilience. Staff receive monthly reflective practice and debriefs after any serious incidents. We have an on-site Psychologist 2 days per week, An on-site Social Worker 1.5 days per week and a Nurses Clinic on-site 4 days per week. With a GP clinic once a week in the service. We also have external support from Turning Point and CGL to support our customers with their substance misuse.
The working patterns included in this role are early shifts 7am-3pm and late shifts 1pm-9pm. This involves working 2.5 weekends of 7 weeks rolling rota.

About the role
We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. Salary: £22,567 per annum + £750 Home Working Allowance p.a. + £4082 London Weighting p.a. (if eligible)

The Senior Administration Officer will be a key member of an effective and experienced admin team, and will bring an existing strong administration skill set. The Senior Administrative Officer will contribute to the work of a growing number of social workers to and foster carers in this area, making a difference to the outcomes for the children in our care. With a specific responsibility for all aspects of servicing the Fostering Panel Committee Meetings, the ideal candidate will have experience of administrating a regulated committee or board, and understand the need for excellent record keeping, minute taking, attention to detail with discretion and exceptional time management and organisational skills.

Overall Requirements of the Senior Administrative Officer role will include:
- Excellent familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite - Word/Excel/PowerPoint/MS Teams
- Substantial administration experience - including systematic servicing of committees and minuting meetings
- Excellent attention to detail alongside excellent communication skills both online, in person and in writing
- Experience in administration of events - including negotiating arrangements with venues and similar third party providers
- Adept at working as part of a remote team, providing support and cover, while being self-motivated and able to work flexibly according to the business needs
- Skilled at dealing with sensitive information with empathy, discretion and confidence and having excellent customer service abilities
- Willingness to travel to face to face events such as team meetings, training and local events

The Senior Administration Officer may be homebased East, North or West London, Herts or Essex, and will be required to travel to face-to-face meetings in the East London area at least once a month and on other occasions for training and team wellbeing events.
