We are a domestic and sexual abuse service based in Lichfield & Tamworth, Staffordshire. We offer a range of support services and run two refuges in confidential locations. We have been operating for over 30 years helping adults and children overcome domestic abuse, and to build a future where they live in safety and are free from fear. Since our founder, Kathy Coe MBE, created Pathway Project, we have helped over 25,000 people, with 5,814 hours of support provided in the last year. We offer a wide range of services, including adult and children outreach and community support, mental health, wellbeing and financial advice. We support the relatives of those who have experienced domestic and sexual violence and offer specialist counselling, advocacy and care to all who need us. About the role

We are recruiting for two staff positions to join our dedicated team of professional staff who deliver support for women and their dependent children, who are escaping domestic abuse through accommodation in one of our Pathway Project intensive support centres.

Working within a framework of support the post holder will be able to deliver social, emotional and practical support to individuals to support them on their journey to being a survivor. The ability to support clients in this circumstance is an absolute privilege and our clients deserve and receive the very best support the team are able to provide.

The postholder will join this supportive and caring team working a shift system  to ensure there is 24/7 support available in our intensive support accommodation based in Lichfield. This will involve working flexible hours, covering a rolling shift pattern which includes weekdays, weekends, evenings and overnight sleeping shifts.  The postholder will support clients by handholding and supporting attendance at external appointments as well as supporting their emotional and practical recovery. This is an incredibly challenging role which is immensely rewarding.

Access to transport and a full clean driving license is an advantage.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

o To admit victims of emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse, into one of our intensive support centres, as well as any children who may be in their care, and handle any subsequent emergencies in line with Pathway's standards and procedures.

o To provide advice and guidance to service users within the refuge and on the helpline.

o To keep and maintain accurate records with regards to service users. This paperwork will be consistent across both sites and will be subject to a monthly case review.

o To chair house meetings with service users.

o To provide support and advocacy to service users of the project, including transporting to and attending necessary appointments and court.

o To provide one to one support to deal with a variety of emotional and practical needs that service users may present with.

o To liaise with other agencies both statutory and voluntary, on behalf of service users, to enable them to access services.

o Representing Pathway and their service users at CAF’s, core groups and case conferences.

o To ensure that the cleaning rota is adhered to, and that accommodation is clean and all relevant equipment provided is maintained.

o To support management, or where necessary to conduct yourself, the delivery of disciplinary action. This may also include evictions.

o To ensure that service users abide by their license agreement and house rules and to make recommendations to management with regards to disciplinary action required where service users have breached their license agreement and house rules.

o To help review health and safety regulations and conduct fire drills.

o To maintain confidentiality and information sharing protocols in line with Pathway’s policy and procedures.

o To help with the resettlement of service users in the local community, to secure a successful transition.

o To assist service users with benefit claims and advice.

o To work closely with other support workers within Pathway and to ensure that service users have full access to all available services.

Essential Experience

• Formal qualification appropriate for the area of work or 12 months relevant work/volunteer experience. 
• Working knowledge of voluntary/statutory sector
• Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies relevant to women suffering domestic abuse. 
• Confident in dealing with multi agency work. 
• Ability to work with people and relate across a wide range of individuals and organisations. 
• Confident and assertive manner 
• Effective communicator bith verbally and written
• Reliable, confident and able to cope under pressure
• Non judgemental and accepting of others
• Ability to relate with empathy to clients
• Able to cope with emotionally charged pressurised work 
• Must agree to an enhanced DBS check 
• Must be able to participate in a rolling shift pattern which includes weekdays, weekends and overnight sleeping shifts.

Desirable Experience

• Good knowledge of welfare rights and legislation affecting this client group. 
• Understanding of Safeguarding and or experience of application of a Safeguarding policy 
• Must have a driving licence and access to a car for work use. 
• Physically fit and able to use stairs

Counterpoints Arts is a leading national organisation working at the intersection of arts, migration and social change. The range of Counterpoints Arts’ work has grown considerably since it was founded in 2012 and we are now seeking someone to lead on Operations Management whilst our current Operations Manager is on maternity leave. This role is key to ensuring the smooth running of our charity’s operations, including overseeing day-to-day administrative, financial, and HR functions. The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and have a strong background in charity operations or a similar role within the nonprofit sector. We are particularly interested in recruiting someone whose values align with the charity's mission and overall team culture.

Responsibilities:

Overall, the role involves ensuring smooth daily operations and charity compliance, managing office administration, supporting team productivity and wellbeing, and liaising with external stakeholders and suppliers.

Finance and Fundraising:

• Ensure financial compliance and oversee bookkeeping, invoicing, and grant payments.

• Support budgeting, financial reporting, and planning with the Director.

• Monitor charity management accounts, project income, and expenditure.

• Manage year-end accounts, filing with the Charity Commission, and Company House.

• Write funding applications and reports, maintain funder relationships, and ensure grant reporting deadlines are met.

• Ensure provisional figures are submitted to various funders and entities

• Write narrative report to go alongside financial report for year end accounts

Board and Senior Management Team:

• Support the Director in preparing Board papers

• Support SMT meetings and assist the Board with reminders and actions

• Update the Risk Register every 6 months according to updates agreed at Board meetings

​HR and Policy:

• Lead on HR activities, annual leave, TOIL, pensions, and contract administration.

• Oversee payroll, recruitment, staff wellbeing, and compliance with employment law.

• Manage temporary staff and freelancers, and update HR policies as needed.

• Lead on the annual team training programme and supporting team with individual

  training ambitions

• Support all staff with wellbeing needs and help address issues with individual wellbeing.

• Organise team training, away days, and foster a positive team culture.

• Ensure staff adherence to policies (e.g., annual leave, sickness, TOIL) and promote

  inclusive work practices.

• Support with Risk Assessments and Safeguarding assessments and help respond to safeguarding concerns or incidents

• Support with Activity Planning

• Support with any placements/internships

• Organise annual DBS checks for all staff

IT:

• Manage all IT systems used by the team of staff and freelancers, including Slack and Google Workspace.

• Oversee CA website management including updates and resolving issues as needed with the web developers

• Communicate any server or IT issues promptly with the team

• Encourage best practice for cyber security to all team members and work with staff to resolve any cyber security issues that arise Compliance and Governance:

• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance, including Charity Law, Data Protection, Health & Safety and Employment Law, and support implementation of relevant policy with the Board and Senior Management Team.

Office Management:

• Manage office logistics, filing, GDPR compliance, and health and safety.

• Ensure safeguarding protocols are in place, reporting issues to the landlord/Building Manager as needed

• Manage insurance renewal and any issues with insurance throughout the year, including

  additional insurance premiums / cover and any claims

Required Experience:

• Proven experience in an operations or administrative management role within a charity, arts, or non-profit organisation.

• Strong financial literacy and experience managing budgets.

• Excellent attention to detail: Highly organised with a focus on accuracy, best practice and compliance.

• Knowledge of HR processes, including recruitment, payroll, and fostering positive work culture

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential staff and organisational information

• Excellent organisational and project/task management skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Highly literate in IT: experienced with Word, Excel, Google Workspace, Slack, and other organisational software.

• Proactive and adaptable: able to take initiative, prioritise tasks, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

The Diocese is seeking a Church Building Support Officer to join our team on a fixed-term contract, to work closely with parishes to help secure sustainable futures for some of our most historic and cherished church buildings. You'll help PCCs to identify and explore complimentary non-worship uses for their buildings, helping them to become vibrant and viable centres of mission and community life. You’ll support them in ensuring the church buildings are fit for the future, fostering greater community engagement, and developing long-term sustainability strategies.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a developing church buildings strategy, shaping the future approach to church building support within the Diocese. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders to bring these strategies to life, ensuring that churches remain places of worship, community activity, and cultural significance.

This is a new fixed-term post funded by the Church Commissioners of the Church of England through their Buildings for Mission funding. The funding is for an initial period of twenty months, ending in September 2026, unless the funding is extended.

The main responsibilities of the Church Building Support Officer are:

• Work with Parochial Church Councils (PCCs) to develop community action plans that align with local needs.

• Support PCCs in identifying mixed-use opportunities for the church building

• Facilitate the building of strong relationships with local groups, charities, and other partners to promote the wider use of church buildings.

The Role
As CEO, you will report directly to the Board of Trustees and hold overall responsibility for the leadership, strategy, and administration of the charity. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of GMYF by:

• Overseeing the development and expansion of new clubs and services across Greater Manchester, including planning and executing the build of our new community centre and additional youth centres, ensuring they are equipped to meet the needs of the young people we serve.
• Driving the growth and success of our residential services and outdoor activities. You will ensure that our offerings comply with all relevant safety and educational standards, while working towards specific participation growth targets, including establishing a Gold-level Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) group.
• Maximising the use of our Ormside Mill Residential Centre, promoting it as a hub for outdoor education, affiliated club activities, and residential trips, while encouraging affiliated clubs to take an active role in organising their activities at the centre.
• Building and nurturing strong relationships with local authorities, council members, and community stakeholders, as well as acting as a public representative for GMYF to enhance our profile and secure additional funding and partnerships.
• Ensuring robust governance, financial sustainability, and compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks while actively engaging in fundraising initiatives to support our growth objectives.
• Your ability to inspire and engage others will be crucial as you lead the organisation through this exciting period of expansion.

About You

We are seeking a candidate who combines strategic leadership with hands-on management experience, ideally within youth services or a related field. You will be a proactive leader, capable of developing and delivering long-term plans while remaining ready to "roll up your sleeves" and engage with the community when necessary.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Significant experience in a senior management role within youth services, outdoor education, or a similar sector, to include service development.
• A proven track record in leading organisational change, motivating teams, and fostering a positive culture.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, ensuring financial sustainability, and driving fundraising efforts, particularly in a charity setting.
• In-depth understanding of charity governance, regulatory requirements, and compliance, with the ability to navigate the complexities of public sector partnerships.
• Experience working with Boards of Trustees, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring effective governance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and represent GMYF with gravitas in the local area.

Scope

As a charity the RHN has to raise over £3.4M in voluntary income each year to pay for vital therapies and services that improve the quality of life experienced by people with severe or complex disabilities caused by brain injury. This includes a chaplaincy service, music therapy, therapeutic art, leisure and family services, assistive technology, research, medical equipment and capital refurbishment projects.

The Trusts & Major Gifts Team has annual income responsibility of £1M; the Legacy Team has annual income responsibility for £1M; the Events Team has annual income responsibility for £230kk from event and £75k from Corporate fundraising; the Donor Development Team has annual income responsibility of £550k.

The Trusts and Foundations Officer will work with the Senior Trusts Fundraiser and the Trusts and Major Gifts Manager to generate income though grant giving organisations. As a member of a small fundraising team, there is also a requirement to help with other ad hoc fundraising activities, in particular helping with events when necessary. In order to fulfil the role and understand nature of the hospital, it is required to work on site the majority of the time, with flexibility around hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect Research - To conduct prospect research into appropriate trusts & foundations to identify new support for the RHN, and to and carry out suitable research on trusts and trustees using the internet and secondary research sources.
• Planning – Carry out extensive income planning and preparation ahead of each new financial year, including application planning using Excel to chart monthly applications, amounts sought and estimated response dates.Assist the Trusts and Major Gifts Manager to prepare the Fundraising Team’s projected income ahead of each new financial year. Take ownership of, understand, rationalise, and where necessary, adapt how the post holder’s personal income target is to be achieved.
• Annual Trusts Mailing, collating and checking the list of recipients, writing funder updates, administering the mailing, acknowledging all gifts and documenting all correspondence or Raiser’s Edge, relevant spreadsheets and electronic files.
• Administration – Ensure that records are regularly updated to reflect fundraising activity on Raiser’s Edge; use spreadsheets to record planned applications, projected income and secured income. Keep records of all donor correspondence on Raiser’s Edge and electronic files.
• Information gathering - To have an updated and working knowledge of funding requirements for the RHN which have been budgeted for and develop an understanding of how gifts for special purposes are allocated.
• Events – To support the wider team in hosting and preparation for events. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Best Practice - To adhere to best practice in prospect cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, and ensure that the appropriate ethical policies and practices of the RHN are followed.
• Relationship Development – to ensure effective and co-operative relationships are established and maintained with donors and also internal staff, volunteers and senior volunteers.

Essential skills

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of fundraising best practice, with at least 12 months experience in trusts fundraising and a proven track record of developing a trusts pipeline and securing funds.
• Possess an energetic, pro-active, ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Good IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office, and preferably a fundraising database such as Raiser’s Edge.
• Experience of using research tools to acquire information about existing and prospective funders. Excellent prospect research and profile creation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – relationship building and networking skills to develop and nurture donor relationships. Ability to establish rapport with a diverse range of people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and financially numerate.
• Organised approach to work – proactive, good and methodical administrative skills, with good planning and time-management. Ability to prioritise and think work well under pressure.
• Creative thinking and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to put across compelling and persuasive cases for support with outstanding written style.
• Experience of working as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
