Role Summary
Together Women Leeds provides holistic wraparound support to women and girls and specialises in supporting women involved with the CJS, through 1:1 Keywork, group programmes and access to specialist gender-specific support via TW Women’s Centres.
We are seeking an individual with a proactive, compassionate, collaborative approach. We are looking for someone who is adaptable and highly organised, brings strong reporting skills, and is a great relationship builder. Experience of working in the women’s sector or the criminal justice system is desirable, but not essential – most importantly we’re looking for an outstanding manager.
At Together Women, staff wellbeing is a priority. With the support of a Deputy Manager, you will ensure our talented staff team are effectively managed, supported and encouraged to develop within their roles, enabling them to provide high quality, trauma-responsive support.
You will be responsible for the management of a range of services, ensuring high quality standards are consistently met and partnerships are established and maintained. You will lead the strategic development and operational effectiveness of numerous services, including the West Yorkshire women’s contract supporting other districts. The Leeds centre is funded via a range of commissioners both statutory and non-statutory, and you will lead on the contract and performance management including relationships with commissioners. Alongside the Director of Services and wider management team you will also contribute to the effective leadership of the organisation, ensuring our operational and strategic objectives are met.
Key Accountabilities:
Service Delivery and Management
- Lead the operational management of TW services in Leeds ensuring intensive high-quality, trauma responsive support is provided to women and girls accessing the services
- Develop and manage a service plan for Leeds that incorporates key milestones and ensures delivery of project outputs and outcomes
- Monitor delegated budget responsibility, ensuring that the services operate within the agreed budget
Staff Management
- Line manage direct reports and ensure that all staff receive regular support, supervision and performance review, case management, training and development in line with TW policies and procedures
- Deliver team meetings, reflective practice, and staff learning and development opportunities
- Effectively manage a dispersed team ensuring team cohesion and consistency in approach and practice.
Communication/Contracts and Partnerships
- Take overall responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective partnerships and referral pathways
- Lead on the contract and performance management including all relationships with commissioners
- Organise and attend external meetings/events as appropriate, actively participating and disseminating information to colleagues. This includes sitting on steering groups and attending multi-agency panels to discuss the needs and challenges facing TW customer group, develop robust sector-wide responses, inform, and improve internal services to ensure they are fit for purpose.

- Ensure that all project staff maintain accurate, confidential customer records, following TW policies and procedures, and contribute to the maintenance of the projects’ monitoring and recording systems
- Produce monitoring and evaluation reports in line with funder and other key stakeholder requirements
Funding
- Identify relevant fundraising opportunities and support TW senior management team to prepare funding applications, identify commissioning opportunities, which support the long-term sustainability of existing and new services
- Attend meetings with potential new funders to secure new funding streams, ensuring that the project outcomes are achievable and measurable
- Work with colleagues within TW and/or external partners to establish new services/projects when funding applications are successful

About the role Regional Safety Security Manager, East Central, and Southern Africa
Sightsavers are actively recruiting a Regional Safety and Security Manager (RSSM), East, Central and Southern Africa to join their global security team. Reporting to the Head of Security – Africa, this role supports the ECSA region on all matters of physical security risk management and business continuity. If you have strong experience working in remote and high-risk environments in a similar role in the development (or related) sector this could be your next career move. Responsibilities but not limited to:

The Global Project Coordinator is an important role at RCPCH Global, a specialist unit within the College, as you will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery which will include supporting the development of the project inception phase and delivery plan.

The Vacancy

Saferworld’s income is secured primarily from statutory and institutional donors; however, securing funding to support our partners in conflict-affected countries and allow for more flexible programming increasingly requires a more diverse funding base. The Programme Development Manager will support efforts to identify and secure funds from statutory donors, trusts and foundations, and other non-traditional funding mechanisms.
The Programme Development Manager will support a portfolio of Saferworld’s teams in designing and mobilising funding for peace, security and justice programmes. The successful applicant will have a focus of approximately 4 countries, which will be decided based on the candidate’s experience and preference. Working closely with Country Managers/Directors, and programme and grant management colleagues, the post-holder will lead on: coordinating and facilitating programme development processes (including taking the lead in drafting high quality concept notes and proposals, theories of change, logical models, risk matrixes and budgets); developing and supporting the implementation of long-term country funding strategies and donor engagement strategies; and supporting new donor engagement and sustaining relationships with current donors. The Technical Lead (SRM Capacity Strengthening) will bring extensive practical experience in NGO Security Risk Management (SRM) and training design and delivery to the GISF team.
This is a key role in disseminating knowledge generated through GISF’s network of more than 130 members. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the development and delivery of virtual and in-person trainings and workshops to enhance the SRM capacity of GISF Members and the wider NGO sector. - Develop new technical guides for NGOs based on GISF research and best practices, and regularly update existing guides to ensure they remain current.
- Support the Research team by reviewing and contributing to terms of reference, assessing researchers’ suitability, and ensuring outputs are practical and relevant.
- Monitor developments in NGO safety and security, identify key knowledge gaps, and coordinate with relevant teams to address them.
- Work with the Training and Travel Coordinator to maintain a long-term delivery plan for trainings and workshops, while remaining responsive to urgent requests for assistance.
- Support Members in coordinating and sharing best practices for internal training efforts.
Member & NGO Services
- May be required to travel at short notice to provide short-term SRM coordination support (up to 10 weeks) in coordination with NGO fora. Depending on access, this may need to be done remotely.
- Engage with country-level NGO coordination structures to assess and build their SRM coordination capacity.
- Contribute to GISF webinars and blogs by developing engaging and relevant content.
- Contribute to the development and analysis of member and NGO assessment tools.
External engagement, relationships, and frameworks
- Represent GISF in regional NGO SRM coordination bodies.
- Represent GISF at external events, including delivering presentations.
- Contribute to agenda development for events such as GISF’s Forums, Humanitarian Networks Partnership Week, and AidEx.

Experience
- At least five years of demonstrated experience in NGO safety and security.
- Varied experience working across the humanitarian, development and human rights sectors. (Desirable)
- At least two years of NGO operational experience
- Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering trainings to a range of audiences.
- Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering technical guides, security policies, etc.
- Experience participating in security coordination platforms.
- Demonstrable experience of project management, delivering to agreed outcomes, and monitoring and evaluating success.
- Experience in working collaboratively and inclusively with a wide range of colleagues and experts.

This exciting role offers a superb opportunity for a dynamic fundraiser to lead and develop this crucial income stream. With exceptional relationship management and written skills, and proven experience of raising six-figure plus grants, you will manage strategic relationships with trusts, grant makers and statutory funders, maximising income to help combat the causes and impact of poverty – and to inspire the next generation of social activists
Key Responsibilities
Donor management
- Write tailored, inspirational applications and project reports addressing grant-making priorities or requirements as specified
- Create and maintain a schedule of approaches to new, lapsed, and existing funders; developing, writing, and delivering creative and engaging proposals in line with the objectives and criteria of each funder
- Work collaboratively across teams and areas of operation identifying new funding opportunities, reporting on impact and evaluation
- Develop and implement a programme and methodology of approaches to small, medium and large trusts
- Work toward an agreed annual work plan meeting targets and milestones; prioritising workload and planning activity.
Identifying funding opportunities to ensure that our charity broadens awareness of and funding for our vital work
- Identify and research a comprehensive pipeline of realistic funding opportunities including trusts and corporate foundations
- Maintain a broad knowledge of the organisation’s funding needs
- Liaise closely with senior managers and teams to plan and develop the strongest possible proposals
- Approach funders, develop and maintain new relationships and access new fundraising opportunities
- Regularly research new opportunities via cold trusts
Developing strong relationships with funders
- Develop and maintain stewardship plans to keep all funders engaged with the impact of their support, including managing visits
- Report to key funders on progress, expenditure, and future plans
- Working with delivery and management staff to ensure that funder objectives and monitoring requirements are met
- Maintain accurate records and information about funders on Raiser’s Edge NXT and in communication with the finance team
- Identify and initiate opportunities for funders to engage with Toynbee Hall beyond their funded project
Strategic
- Plan and deliver individual fundraising projects; developing new fundraising ideas and engaging internal and external stakeholders to deliver them
- Work with Head of Fundraising to report and forecast progress against established targets for income, research, and relationship development
- Stay informed of developments and trends in fundraising by monitoring sector news and networking with appropriate organisations
- Work with Executive team and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) to leverage their contacts and expertise
Team responsibility
- Develop and maintain mutually supportive internal relationships with project teams, finance, monitoring and senior management
- Work in line with the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practice, Fundraising Regulator
