We are seeking a Reserves Officer (Solent) to join our cause.
As part of the Solent Team, this post is crucial to the successful delivery of the Trust’s Wilder vision for the southern Hampshire sites. The post holder will share the responsibility for the management of the Solent reserves with an Assistant Reserves Officer. The reserves encompass a wide range of habitat types and species and includes two flagship reserves, Farlington Marshes and Swanwick Lakes. Candidates will need to have experience in a wide range of habitat management techniques, including wetland and grazing marsh. Key aspects of the role will be to manage the estate to a high standard in line with contractual and statutory obligations and promoting the Trust Reserves as exemplars of good management. The post holder will be responsible for the line management of the Assistant Reserves Officer and annual Trainee, for the recruitment and supervision of volunteers and will coordinate a varied programme of volunteering and public engagement activities.
This is a challenging and dynamic role that requires a high degree of practical competency, initiative, determination, administrative skills and diplomacy. The post holder will be an experienced land manager, competent in the in the use of power tools and tractors with a confident and engaging communication style. Knowledge of conservation grazing systems and livestock husbandry will be an advantage. Flexible working will be required.

The Communications Lead will be responsible for our digital and social channels, developing compelling content and copy, as well as managing our media presence and working with journalists to secure coverage of our messages, research and reports. About the candidate

As an independent funder, the charity generates income from its endowment, which includes substantial property holdings and financial investments. This means it does not fund raise. The role:
This newly created position will expand the capacity of the organisation's communications team, supporting the Communications, PR & Events Manager in delivering engaging, high-impact external communications. The focus will be on managing the Charity’s digital presence, including its social media channels and newsletter to enhance visibility, engagement and public awareness.
The role requires a strategic, organised and creative approach to social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Vimeo and BlueSky. It will entail preparing and delivering innovative and compelling content in both written, visual and video production formats, which showcase the work of the Charity and its network of grantees. Using the latest platforms and technology such as Canva and InDesign, this role will help tell the important stories which emanate from the work of the charity, including publicising events, raising awareness and addressing interesting themes relevant to the work of the Charity and its community.
This role will also monitor and evaluate online engagement and will ensure there is a vibrant, creative and relevant tone across all platforms and mediums. They will also contribute to maintaining the website and newsletter, gathering stories from across the Charity’s networks and ensuring it is accessible and up to date with current affairs and events. Working closely with the Communications, Events and PR Manager, this person will be responsible for identifying opportunities to repurpose and amplify content across multiple channels to ensure the Charity’s media presence is maintained and enhanced both on a local, London wide and National basis.
Beyond digital communications, this role will support a busy calendar of events throughout the year, managing logistics from planning to execution, including navigation lists, booking venues, catering arrangements and on the day support and facilitation. The person:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in a similar social media or digital communications role, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector but equally having come from a commercial setting, where an active interest in charitable work can be clearly evidenced. Bright, engaging and intellectually curious, this person will have a natural enthusiasm for the work of the charity and the desire to be an active member of an office-based team, all working towards the same goals.
An outstanding communicator both in person verbally and in writing, this person will have a proven track record of running digital communications activities and social media campaigns and will be proficient in design tools such as Canva, InDesign, Photoshop and PowerPoint, although training can be given where necessary. The ability to tailor the tone of content for various platforms and to appeal to a wide range of audiences, both locally, London wide and nationally will be important.

On 20th August 2011, Flt Lt Jon Egging lost his life whilst completing a display at the Bournemouth Air Festival. He was coming to the end of his first year with the world-famous Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, flying in the position of Red 4.
Jon was an inspirational individual, and inspiration is at the heart of everything we do. What will I be doing?
You will primarily be working with the Policy Officer to expand our public affairs and parliamentary work. This will involve updating the map of key stakeholders and contact lists of parliamentarians and policymakers relevant to the Centre’s work. You will also support the relationship building with these contacts, for example by helping to draft letters and organise online and in-person events. You will also be the Centre’s eyes and ears in Westminster, and monitor parliamentary business, including relevant select committee hearings, parliamentary debates and Prime Ministers Questions, All Party Parliamentary Groups meetings. You will identify trends and organisational opportunities, and feed this back internally within the team.
You will also help our Communications Officer to increase the reach and impact of the Centre’s work, for example by expanding our contacts list of relevant organisations working in academia, the third sector and journalists, for promotional purposes, and building up the Centre’s image library. There will be opportunities to contribute to the Centre’s blog series which we use to promote the Centre’s reports and events, as well as analyse relevant external developments in the justice system.
The position will also involve supporting the Centre’s work more generally, for example by helping to design and organise events for a range of audiences, such as the Expert Voice webinar series, and conducting literature reviews to fill the gaps in our knowledge on specific topics.
What kind of person do we want?
The successful candidate will have excellent written and analysis skills, the ability to understand and synthesise complex topics, and have an interest in criminal or family justice. Through your application you should be able to demonstrate the following:

About the role
Woman’s Trust is looking for an interim Senior Communications Consultant to support the delivery of our ambitious organisational strategy, and our goal to ensure more survivors of domestic abuse have access to the mental healthcare they need.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of five years’ senior media relations experience within the VAWG or mental health sectors. This is essential as we work at the intersection of both policy areas and need someone who understands the unique position that puts us in, in terms of the services we provide and our expertise.
We are looking for someone proactive, with a keen eye for uncovering news stories within an organisation and spotting opportunities to respond to issues in the media or more widely.
Applicants must also be able to demonstrate they have secured recent print and broadcast press coverage and that they have experience supporting vulnerable survivors with media work.
The priorities will be to:
- Generate media coverage using case studies, data, research, spokespeople and in response to the news agenda (newsjacking)
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists
- Support senior staff and domestic abuse survivors with media work and speaking at events
- Review and update our website
- Monitor, manage and engage with communities proactively and reactively across our social media channels, including creating content
- Support the development of a communications strategy to underpin the organisational strategy
- Provide senior communications counsel and advice to the CEO, Chair and Senior Leadership Team
- Work and develop relationships with colleagues across the VAWG and mental health sectors in support of shared communications objectives
- Represent the organisation as and when needed at external events or media events
We’re looking for someone to come and join our friendly and dedicated team based in London for a period of three to four months while we re-assess our requirements internally and recruit for the position permanently.
The consultant will be expected to provide regular updates on progress and will be supported with an induction with team members from across the organisation.

Sundial Centre for Education on Harmful Practices (“Sundial” previously called Oxford Against Cutting) delivers high quality education and training on harmful practices, such as female genital mutilation (FGM), ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and harmful body alterations. We offer safeguarding training for teams of professionals such as teachers, police and social workers. We also deliver lessons in schools, as well as workshops for community groups. We are looking for a Communications Manager to support our marketing, press and social media work.
Job Description
The charity would like to increase our digital footprint by 50% and in order to do this we need a highly motivated communications lead to boost our profile. You will create and deliver a marketing, press and social media strategy, to increase both the reach of our work and awareness of harmful practices. You will build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including journalists, influencers and ambassadors to raise our visibility in both English and international languages in UK press, manage all our platforms and create digital content. You will work with the team and trustees to achieve desired outputs within agreed timeframes and budgets, to operational standards. Your work will be co-designed and informed by survivors and communities. You will operate under the principles of Do No Harm.
This role will be home-based and in Oxfordshire and will report to the CEO.
Person Specification
You will ideally be from a community affected by a harmful practice such as FGM/C or ‘honour’-based abuse and forced marriage. This does not necessarily mean you personally have been affected, but you have a deep understanding of the issues from living in your community.
Your knowledge of the topic:
You will need a strong understanding of violence against women and girls (VAWG), policy and legislation, ideally having experience working in the VAWG sector.
High level of organisation:
Most of the time you will be working from your home office so you will need be highly self-motivated and organised to meet deadlines for campaigns around international days (e.g. International Women’s Day) for example. You will be required to attend occasional meetings in Oxfordshire or elsewhere in the UK, for example at conferences where Sundial is represented, and some team meetings.
