Are you the dynamic and driven Project Manager we seek to support our school improvement team at Haringey Education Partnership?  This role will be pivotal in ensuring effective management of teams, systems management and record keeping, stakeholder engagement and relationships across various educational projects aimed at enhancing school performance and pedagogical outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Support the management of a large consultancy team and their work in schools
• Manage administrative tasks including documentation, scheduling, and reporting for school improvement initiatives.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational innovation, policies, regulations, and political landscape affecting schools and the education sector
• Be proficient in using tools such as Canva, Microsoft Office suite, and basic website management platforms to create and disseminate educational high-quality resources and communications in line with HEP brand guidelines

Communications and Advocacy Manager  - Resilient Water Accelerator

Contract: 2-year Fixed-term contract, with the potential to extend, Full-time.

Location: The role can be based in the UK or USA
For the UK Location: Hybrid working, WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base. About the Team:
The Resilient Water Accelerator (RWA), hosted by WaterAid, is global initiative that aims to:

• Address the climate impacts on water to strengthen resilience in vulnerable communities;
• Secure greater investment from public and private sources in water infrastructure and services;
• Ensure this work can be replicated and scaled to increase long term water security.

To achieve this we will work with policy makers, experts, investors and communities to identify critical climate risks to water and shape a business case for priority projects. We will work to ensure these projects act as positive examples of a new approach to programme development in the water and climate sectors. This role will play an essential part in delivering our international programme of work.

As Communication and Advocacy Manager you will play a key role in delivering our global thought leadership objectives

About the Role:
As Communication and Advocacy Manager you will  help to draw links between our work in country and the much needed action on international finance for climate resilience. You will be ready to engage strategically with influential governments and organisations to influence their policies and practices as they relate to water.

As a leader on communications you will be a critical part of the RWA’s global team — helping to link the different parts of the RWA together and co-ordinate with our partners around the world. You will ensure the team has a line of sight to the relevant policies and initiatives affecting the RWA’s work, and that there is clear, consistent and compelling messaging of the Accelerator through different communications channels. They will bring a fresh and inventive approach lead the communication of that thought leadership with key stakeholders. You will lead internal communications with WaterAid and the Steering Committee and work with colleagues across WaterAid’s network to build awareness of the Accelerator’s work. This will be vital to amplifying our messaging around global water security and climate adaptation. As this work is in its early stages, a flexible approach to the team’s work will be helpful, adjusting to changing priorities and progress on the ground.

The position will be hosted by WaterAid, which has been acting as the Accelerator’s interim host until an agreement with a long-term host has been finalized.

The successful candidate will:

• Take the lead on development and delivery of the Accelerator’s communications and advocacy strategy as a key measureable output
  • Initiate the creation of an advocacy “campaign” to ensure awareness of the RWA its objectives – drawing on our work.
  • Lead in publication materials and branding
  • Managing internal comms, online and social media engagement
• Enable impactful advocacy
  • Co-lead on strategic engagement with key institutions including national governments, multilateral banks, and UN bodies
  • Co-ordinate relevant events, communications and policy developments with partner organisations in water and climate finance
• Support Partnerships
  • Liaise regularly with key partners including Arup, Sustainable Markets Initiative, FCDO water team, CDP and others.
  • Co-ordinate external communications efforts with partners

About you:

• Ability to act on your own initiative to ensure momentum of our work is maintained
• Experience with developing internal or external communications strategies
• Experience of develop an impactful advocacy strategy
• Experience in assessing policy documents and evidence, summarising this and pulling out relevant information in an accessible way.

Are you a creative communicator? Are you able to develop and curate digital content that sparks conversation? ABOUT GLAN

The Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) works with affected communities to pursue innovative legal actions across borders to challenge states and other powerful actors involved in human rights violations and systemic injustice. Our actions address the most pressing instances of human rights concern and they fall within the following themes: War and occupation; accountability and supply chains; environmental and economic justice; and migration and border violence.

Since our establishment in 2016, we have developed legal strategies directly addressing human rights impacts in over 23 countries and territories. Our cases include the successful legal challenge against imports of cotton produced with forced labour in Xinjiang (East Turkistan) into the UK on behalf of World Uyghur Congress and the climate case against 32 European States before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights, brought on behalf of six Portuguese youth-applicants.

More recently, we have supported the preeminent Palestinian human rights organisation Al Haq, to rapidly challenge UK weapons exports to Israel due to the risk of these arms being used in violations of international law. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Head of Strategic Communications at GLAN, you will spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy that amplifies GLAN's mission and impact on a global scale.

You will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of all communications efforts to enhance the organisation's brand, increase public awareness, and support advocacy and fundraising initiatives.

This is an exciting time to join GLAN. We are seeking a Head of Strategic Communications to build an ambitious communications strategy focused on some of the biggest human rights and climate change issues of our time. At this point in time, the team is small with some budget to work with external freelancers, consultants or agencies. We are looking for someone to grow with GLAN; joining us with a communications team of two and developing your team in the years to come. KEY RESPONSIBITIES

Communications Strategy

• Align cross-media communication strategies with thematic goals to maximise success across all initiatives. Develop campaign & advocacy communications which will influence change.
• Collaborate with project delivery teams across GLAN to ensure a consistent calendar of communications, highlighting all key areas of work.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing communications and advocacy team, currently including a Campaigns Coordinator.
• Create and manage the departmental budget in alignment with the overall communications strategy.

Senior Leadership Team (SLT)

• Serve as a key member of the senior management team, contributing to strategic decision-making and organisational planning.
• Represent the organisation externally at events, conferences, and meetings.
• Prepare communications updates and reports to the Board and relevant committees Work with SLT to improve impact measurement across GLAN.
• External stakeholders Be a Face of GLAN; building & cultivating tactical relationships and networks
• Develop a robust relationship management system to enhance engagement with key press contacts, partner organisations, related networks, and other critical stakeholders.

• Understand and use core functionality on the website to a high standard, and play a role in maintaining and improving processes and their documentation
• Work with Head of Communications and Senior Communications Executive to identify areas for improvement and recommending solutions, including proofreading existing work

About the role: 

The successful applicant will work alongside our Trustees, our CEO and our existing Head of Fundraising and Communications in a jobshare to meet challenging fundraising targets. You will be joining us at an exciting time of development, as we open at our third site in Islington, welcome new members of staff to our team and begin work on a new strategy for 2025-2028. We have a strong track record of grant fundraising and seek someone who can support us to diversify our income, develop a fundraising strategy with a variety of income streams and bring experience and ideas to raise our profile. You will be part of a small and highly committed fundraising team of three including the existing Head of Fundraising and Communications, our Fundraising Officer and yourself. Principal Responsibilities
