The Community Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

The Regional Fundraising Officer role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover the North East & Yorkshire regions.

You will report to the Community Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Regional Fundraising to drive the continued growth of the charity’s community fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Strategy, finance, and reporting

· Responsibility for 3 income streams within the region including corporate, community groups and Do It Yourself (DIY) fundraising.

· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with partnerships in your region with a value of up to £100,000.

· Support existing volunteer fundraisers to encourage continued loyalty to the charity and to maximise funds raised, following fundraising legislation and good practice.

· Recruit new fundraising supporters in line with strategy.

· Support the Community Fundraising Manager (CFM) and Head of Regional Fundraising (HORF) in developing the Community Fundraising strategy for ARUK to increase income within this stream.

· Support and extend volunteer networks within the geographical area in line with strategy.

· To ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and managed locally to deliver budgets, targets and income in line with strategy. To achieve this by supporting and facilitating the development of groups and volunteers across the geographical area.

· Work across a diverse geographical area and within a geographically dispersed team, whilst managing own workload cost-effectively and proactively.

 

Supporter Management

· Provide excellent customer service to community fundraising supporters (including maintaining a polite, enthusiastic manner with prompt responses to enquiries), to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.

· Provide high-quality account management to volunteer groups in geographical area.

· Effective management of volunteer relationships within geographical area.

· Support, motivate and develop local fundraising volunteers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of ARUK to enable them to represent the charity’s work effectively.

· In liaison with the Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, provide high-quality account management to corporate supporters within the specified geographical area and/or of relevant value.

· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.

· Ensure volunteers and fundraisers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.

Increasing Community Support within geographical area

· Use own initiative to extend volunteer networks, develop new groups and supporters, and respond to fundraising opportunities within the geographical area, in line with strategy.

· Run volunteer events with both a recruitment and cultivation function, liaising closely with the Stewardship and Events team to ensure a seamless supporter journey, and with the Press team to include media volunteers.

· Manage the recruitment process of new ARUK volunteers in the geographical area, providing relevant support and training.

· Liaise with local community organisations (e.g., golf clubs, educational institutions etc.) – both previous and new potential supporters – to extend income and activity in line with the strategy.

· Initiate and roll out community fundraising events in the geographical area with evidence of effective ROI and achievement of strategic goals.

· Provide face-to-face talks and presentations to community organisations for recruitment/ cultivation purposes.

· Arrange appropriate volunteer representation at events in the community (for example, for cheque collections and talks), spreading the charity’s reach cost-effectively.

· Identify, research and target prospective community organisations, in liaison with CFM.

· Identify, research and target prospective local corporates in liaison with CFM / HORF and ARUK’s Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, in line with both community and corporate strategies.

· Accurately track and record contact with both community and corporate prospects for planning and reporting purposes.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Ensure that your activity is monitored and evaluated, clearly communicating progress to your Community Fundraising Manager.

· Manage relevant information on the charity’s database, keeping detailed, up-to-date records of activity and income.

 

What we are looking for:

· Experience in partnership fundraising and/or relationship-building.

· Experience in public speaking, such as giving presentations and talking at events.

· Knowledge of recruiting key volunteers and fundraising supporters.

· Experience and a keen interest in building long-term relationships with supporters.

· Proven ability to provide excellent stewardship.

· An ability to manage a busy and varied workload.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Excellent organisational skills.

· Full driver’s license with access to own vehicle. 

· Flexibility to work some unsocial hours and willingness to travel independently.

· Live within Norfolk, Suffolk or Cambridgeshire.

Ways of working: As part of our Remote ways of working you will be home based. You will only need to attend the office for specific requirements of the role and the business needs.

About this key role

As a Settling in Facilitator, you will be embedded within a prison-based setting and provide a quality service to people first entering prison. We will count on you to prepare, plan, and deliver the emotional resilience interactive sessions to individuals in prison, ensuring all sessions are appropriate and contextualised to reflect the local needs of the prison and its changing population and utilising expertise around lived experience and local knowledge to empower people in prison.

You will also be expected to deliver additional tailored sessions to individuals who are unable to attend the group sessions or require additional support and to use a trauma-informed approach to build trust and create a safe space for people in prison to explore challenging and potentially traumatic issues and topics.

What we are looking for

• Personal experience of the social care system; criminal justice system; or lived experience of the issues facing this client group. However, we also encourage applications from those without lived experience.
• The ability to build positive relationships with people in prison and be comfortable and confident working in the prison environment.
• A professionally competent approach and confidence facilitating group sessions, as well as being able to tailor the support given to meet the needs of people in prison. 
• An invested interest in supporting people in prison to develop healthy coping strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written.

About the role
 
Location: Community based in Norfolk and Waveney, with some homeworking elements. 
 
As a Dementia Adviser, you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide support, information, and guidance to people with dementia and their carers; helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives.
 
This is a community-based role which will involve some home working, meeting clients in the community and involve having a base in local NHS partner facilities. We are building links with GP’s and Memory assessment centres, Hospitals and other services. We educate and join, refer, direct and support. 

The service is unique to each service user as it is based upon their personal circumstances and support needs. You will offer support to your clients in a variety of ways, whether in the client's own home, or at other locations in the community, face to face, by phone, letter, or email. You will also assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals. 
 
Your role will include: 

- Supporting people affected by dementia, families and carers to access vital services. 
- Improving people’s sense of well-being, enabling them to have more control over their lives. 
- Assisting with the identification of needs, providing information and access to relevant services. 
- Promoting our amazing service and building relationships with a range of health and social care professionals. 

About you

- A great communicator with a passion for supporting carers and people living with dementia.
- Ability and interest in supporting people to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and help them take more control of their lives. 
- Understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers would be an advantage but if you have had experience supporting with other diagnosis or support requirements this would be taken into consideration. 
- Able to network effectively and collaborating with other professionals to achieve a positive outcome for people. 
- Good IT skills, experience working with databases and virtual meeting software (Teams / Zoom). 
- The ability to travel across local area independently when required.

About the role

Our Volunteer Experience Coordinators provide best practice guidance at a local level to Versus Arthritis volunteers. Over the next three years you’ll be supporting the growth and diversification of our volunteer force and introducing new sustainable products (including digital) and processes to support them.

In this role, you will focus on empowering our volunteers by ensuring they receive a high-quality experience through forging relationships with them and ensuring they have what they need to carry out their volunteer roles. The FA is looking for a Safeguarding Manager to join on a 12 month fixed term contract, to work as part of the Strategic Safeguarding Team developing policy, procedures, standards, guidance, education and resources to support fun, inclusive and safe football environments, specifically across the Women's Player Pathway including Professional Game Academies.

You will implement The FA's safeguarding policy, procedures, standards and practices across the women's leagues and talent and player pathway including supporting safeguarding work with England National Teams and other major events.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to work two days a week on site at either St. George's Park or Wembley Stadium, and attend meetings at either venue, as needed.

What will you be doing?

• Drive operating standards in the women's football pyramid and talent pathway, embedding safeguards in licence agreements and regulations, ensuring compliance monitoring is owned at club and league level, working closely with colleagues within the Womens National League and Professional Game Academies (PGA's), and the Safeguarding and Welfare Manager within the Professional Womens Leagues - NewCo, to ensure alignment where appropriate.
• Further develop the approach to audit and compliance and support the process to audit the safeguarding provision and support colleagues and clubs to implement the required safeguards across the women's football pyramid, talent and player pathway, including PGA's.
• Continue to identify and support the learning and development needs of football's Designated Safeguarding Officers/Club Welfare Officers across the women's football pyramid, the talent and player pathway, including PGA's delivering training and briefings as needed.
• Develop and deliver safeguarding and welfare training to specific relevant FA staff, consultants and volunteers, communicating effectively safeguarding policy and procedures, and emphasising the process for reporting concerns.
• Provide support as needed in the management of safeguarding and wellbeing concerns, ensuring appropriate records are maintained, overseeing all referrals to The FA's Case Management and Integrity teams and statutory agencies as required, implementing learning from incidents and referrals.
• Support the development of safer event and match/tournament delivery processes across the women's football pyramid, talent and player pathway.
• Support the development and delivery of research and insight projects across the women's game and support the delivery of actions to develop a safer culture.
• Support the development and implementation of The FA's Safeguarding Policy, including developing new guidance.
• Identify and develop any specific resources and materials to support safeguarding and wellbeing for player and parent education, including bespoke messaging about relationships of trust in the leagues, clubs and talent pathway.
• Support the embedding of safeguards in the open age game, including in the women's football pyramid, supporting alignment where relevant with the men's National League System.
• Ensure complaints relating to safeguarding matters are addressed, and that complainants are updated throughout the process and/or are signposted to relevant sources of support.
• Attend relevant internal meetings and regularly report updates to relevant Managers, Project Groups and Boards.
• Be an influential advocate for safeguarding and player wellbeing, promoting, communication and representing this work effectively internally and externally.
• Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
• As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

Job title: Young Person's Paid Internship with Adoption Alliance

Duration: I year 

Location: A mixture of home-based, office based (Prestatyn) and some time spent in colleges and schools across North Wales. The successful applicant must be either based in North Wales or able to travel there several times a week. 

This is a new role in the organization and the successful applicant will help us to shape the role going forward. As an internship, the post is limited to one year and the successful candidate will be offered training to meet their development needs. This role will offer the successful applicant an opportunity to play an active role in this new project which aims to improve the experiences of adopted people in schools in North Wales whilst at the same time having opportunities to learn new skills and gain knowledge and understanding in areas which are of interest to them. Help will be given to transition from this role into future training or work. 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE INTERNSHIP 

To use your own lived experience to improve the educational experiences of young, adopted people across North Wales.

BookTrust is the UK’s largest children’s reading charity. We know that children who read are happier, healthier, more empathetic, and more creative. They also do better at school. Working with every local authority in England, Northern Ireland and Wales and supported by a range of funders including the Arts Council England, Northern Ireland and Wales Governments, we reach over 3 million families a year via partners in schools, children’s centres, health visitors and libraries. We’re looking for a positive and enthusiastic individual with a demonstrable ability to build strong and successful delivery and strategic relationships with a range of external stakeholders, including primary and secondary schools, local authorities, education sector organisations as well as other civil society organisations. The role will also involve ensuring the successful delivery of a set of BookTrust’s programmes and activities so strong organisational skills, experience of collaborating with different internal functional teams and being thorough and meticulous will be necessary attributes.

The Partnerships Manager will also contribute to the development of new activities and programmes and lead on the programme training and national and regional events for Wales so experience of devising and implementing new programmes and training would be advantageous.
