Following its successful relaunch, the Air Cadet Charity is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager capable of running the financial processes of this young and vibrant charity in order to help it achieve its aims of supporting and developing the young people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Air Cadet Charity, until now, has had to rely on donations with a limited range of activities but Trustees have decided to expand our activities, diversify our income generation and build a capable, respectful and highly successful staff team. Although the Charity had been around in a different guise for many years this is our first year with employed staff and so the successful applicant will need to be capable of starting from scratch, designing secure controls and being fastidious in their record keeping.
The role will focus on all aspects of financial management from book-keeping to preparing end of year accounts and everything in between as well as liaising with the auditors. Our policy is to spend all that we earn and to dip into our capital if required. Annual expenditure and income is around £900,000 each year and our aim is to increase this to around £1,500,000 by 2029. The successful applicant will have tried and tested book-keeping and financial control and management skills gained through qualification and or proven experience.
The role will work directly to the Charity Director, will suit someone who is able to work as the sole financial management expert – although there may be scope to increase our resources as our ambition grows – and not be afraid of hard work and added responsibility. It will be primarily working from home with regular contact with the Charity Director and the Trustees responsible for finance.
Specific knowledge of charitable finance controls, policies and procedures would be advantageous as would qualifications in book-keeping, accountancy or other related area. We’re looking for a proactive team player, able to work on their own initiative.
Key Focus areas
- Expert knowledge of charity finance management including the Statement of Recommended Practice.
- Establishing sound financial controls for this new charity.
- Preparation of quarterly management accounts.
- Establishing both policy and procedure enabling the Charity to achieve its purpose in a responsible and proactive manner without delay.

This IT Support and Logistics Associate role combines elements of an IT Support Specialist and a Logistics Coordinator, focusing on deploying and maintaining Wi-Fi networks for humanitarian projects globally while managing equipment shipments and partner support.

Our office is located in Walthamstow. Due to the role’s responsibilities, this role will need to be on-site 4 days a week. A fifth day can be worked either remotely or on-site.
What’s this role’s purpose?
This role is crucial in implementing our Wi-Fi technology for a diverse set of partners in remote areas, providing technical and logistics support to ensure smooth operations. The position directly contributes to Jangala's mission of expanding internet access in underserved communities worldwide.

About the role
The IT Support and Logistics Associate facilitates the deployment of Jangala's Big Box and Get Box systems globally, supports equipment logistics, and provides crucial support to our projects team. This role is crucial in helping partners get - and stay - connected in remote contexts worldwide

A background in Further Education provision would be good, experience of cultivating and maintaining a broad range of partners would be lovely, the ability to build a high performing and motivated team would be excellent.

This role provides advice and advocacy to LGBTQ+ people who contact Stonewall Housing because they are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The goal is to help people understand their rights and navigate their housing options in order that they have somewhere safe to live. People usually contact us because they are in crisis, the Case Worker’s job is to calmly assess their housing needs, provide them with immediate advice and sign posting and, where necessary, provide advocacy case work to ensure they get access to what they are entitled to.
Key Responsibilities
· To provide a high quality, flexible and responsive advice and case work service to LGBTQ+ people, supporting them to exercise their rights and get access to safe accommodation.
· To assess the individual needs of each person and provide a bespoke advice and advocacy plan.
· To ensure that effective service user participation mechanisms are in place.
· To ensure a high level of customer care and practice at all times.
· To develop links with relevant external agencies.
Main Duties of the Post
Casework Sessions
· To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our advice and advocacy service and to provide proactive support to these service users who are sometimes hard to engage.
· To assess each individual’s current housing situation and form a view with regards to risk associated with their case.
· To explore all options available to the service user allowing them to make informed decisions.
· To work with LGBTQ+ people accessing the advice and advocacy to develop and review individual work plans and risk assessments.
· To have regular case work sessions to provide structured support, in relation to Housing specific issues.
· To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive the necessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independent living skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health and access into meaningful occupation of their time.
Liaison with Landlords / Other Agencies
· To support service users to report repairs and work with landlords and advocate where necessary.
· To support service users to contact local authority, voluntary and private sector landlords to report anti-social behaviour issues and advocate where necessary.
· To support service users to present to local authorities as homeless, where appropriate, and advocate where necessary.
Other Duties
· To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work
· To complete statistics for the collation of performance and funding information
· To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and regulations in relation to funders and other key areas.
· To participate in individual and clinical supervision meetings, annual appraisals and training
· To act in accordance with the organisation’s Diversity Policy, Health and Safety Policy, Code of Conduct and all other corporate policies and procedures
· To act in the best interests of Stonewall Housing and its service users at all times

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Experience
· Lived experience, or experience of working with homeless or vulnerable LGBTQ+ people, in a voluntary or paid employment setting
· Lived experience, or extensive experience of working with LGBTQ+ people.
· Experience of providing advice and advocacy support to vulnerable people in a professional setting
· Experience of working with and delivering services to a diverse client group with a wide range of support needs
· Experience of supporting people who have faced LGBTQ+ discrimination or hate crime
· Experience of lone working and working as part of team
Essential Knowledge
· Knowledge of Housing Legislation and how it applies to those experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness
· Knowledge and understanding of the causes and effects of homelessness, particularly in relation to LGBTQ+ people
· Knowledge of the current benefits available to single people
· Knowledge of common themes, trends and issues within supported and shared accommodation
· Knowledge of pathways into medical and social support for LGBTQ+ people
Essential Skills and Abilities
· Ability to provide a range of housing related advice and advocacy services, i.e. assessment, developing and using opening letters, support planning, case working, independent living support, welfare benefits advice and providing resettlement support
· Ability to manage challenging behaviour and complex needs, report and raise incidents and safeguarding alerts
· Ability to prioritise and maintain case work across multiple service users at the same time
· Excellent recording and reporting skills to accurately reflect work with young people
· Excellent written and verbal communication with vulnerable people
· Ability to effectively involve and engage LGBTQ+ people in services
· To be resilient in regard to working with challenging behaviour from service users who may have experienced trauma leading them to be mistrustful of support providers

The Role
As a Practice Consultant, you will proactively support your Head and line manager, demonstrating leadership and a strong, supportive role in your team’s contribution to delivering the provision of high-quality support in strategic and operational environments. You will be skilled and confident about building high-trust relationships, contributing to securing a strong network across the UK and quality within our accreditation services.

Practice Consultants act as a critical friend to local areas and services, supporting, advising and guiding them through a combination of free and paid-for expert support. You will build relationships with national partners and local areas to develop coordinated, dynamic responses to domestic abuse and related safeguarding issues, seeing the whole picture for each family member to keep people safe sooner.

South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Service is looking for an Outreach Worker to support adult survivors of domestic abuse across Waverley/Guildford Boroughs and to also take the lead in advocating for our LGBTQ+ service (Surrey Pride Awards 2024). You might be part of the LGBTQ+ population and/or have experience of LGBTQ+ needs or the impact of discrimination.
You may have experience of helping those who have been affected by abuse or other trauma. You will use your compassion and listening skills to provide emotional and practical support and help survivors feel safe and empowered. The role includes providing risk assessment, advice, advocacy, safeguarding and liaison with other professionals for example Police, Social Services and Local Authorities.
As part of our adult outreach team, you will support all victims and survivors of domestic abuse living in our area no matter what their age, race, faith, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or class.
We have built strong links across Surrey, raising awareness of our LGBTQ+ service that supports members of the LGBTQ+ population across the county. This includes creating a better understanding of their needs and challenges when affected by domestic abuse. We want someone who can continue this networking and advocacy work. You will be a strong communicator, a confident networker and able to understand and professionally challenge the views of others.
You will be working 30 hours a week as part of our team of over 20 staff based on the edge of Guildford. Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

We are currently seeking a Scheme Manager to Manage two of our schemes based in Oxfordshire. The scheme consists of 40 and 20 properties and the role would be working alongside the onsite care team, who provide 24/7 care. In this key role you will deliver intensive housing management support to residents living within the scheme and liaise with the care team and external agencies to ensure that holistic support to residents is delivered to meet their needs.
This role is for 37 hours per week, and we can offer flexible working over Monday – Friday.
What you will be doing:
- Manage an Independent Living Scheme, by carrying out all intensive housing management tasks, such as income management, dealing with tenancy related issues and communicating with residents and third parties.
- Maintain thorough records of all contact with residents and support providers/professionals, using relevant systems as appropriate.
- Carry out suitability assessments, tenancy sign ups and empty homes management.
- Ensure the scheme is well managed, safe, and clean by overseeing any communal repairs, cleaning or maintenance and liaising with appropriate departments as necessary, escalating any unresolved concerns.
- Liaise with care teams and external agencies to ensure that a holistic package of support is offered to residents.
