We are excited to be recruiting a Senior Research and Evaluation Officer to join The Brilliant Club. The role will help deliver the goals set out in Join The Club, our ambitious strategy for 2021-26, by supporting the charity’s growing research and evaluation consultancy work via Brilliant Consulting. The Senior Research and Evaluation Officer will contribute to improving the evidence base for what works to drive fairer education outcomes and social mobility. They will do this by supporting mission-aligned organisations to conduct robust evaluations of outreach and education programmes.

The Senior Research and Evaluation Officer will join a small consultancy team and will be managed by the charity’s Research and Evaluation Manager. The team is also supported by a number of colleagues from across the organisation who work on specific projects based on their areas of expertise. The consultancy team is part of the charity’s wider research and impact team, who collectively have two areas of responsibility: evaluating and reporting the impact of the charity’s programmes and providing research and evaluation consultancy and strategy support to education organisations.

The successful candidate will have strong research skills, including in quantitative research, and will be able to communicate technical information and findings to university access and success practitioners and educators. They will also demonstrate professional skills in relation to stakeholder management and project management and will champion the charity’s values and embody them in interactions with colleagues and partners. While this role can be based at any of our offices throughout the UK, some travel will be required (mainly to London) to attend in-person meetings.

The role will best suit someone who

• has a degree in a subject involving applied research (e.g., economics, education, policy, psychology, sociology, statistics).
• has quantitative research skills, ideally with experience of constructing comparison groups and running statistical models to understand impact.
• has experience of mixed methods approaches, including qualitative research methods (e.g., focus groups and interviews). 
• has knowledge of the UK education landscape, including higher education. 
• an organised and methodical approach, with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• has excellent written and verbal communication skills, including being able to communicate with a range of external stakeholders.

Role Summary

In 2020/21, the Careers & Enterprise Company appointed its first ever Youth Board Member to the strategic board of directors, to give young people a decision-making voice. The CEC subsequently established a national Youth Advisory Group, to establish and embed an organisation wide approach to capturing Youth Voice, both for the purpose of driving impact and measuring the value of our work. This work has already had a huge impact on the company, and we are looking to embed Youth Voice still further into our work at a more strategic level.

The Youth Advisory Group has three primary functions across The Careers & Enterprise Company, to:

• Govern: challenge CEC’s work to consider youth voice
• Enrich: focus on the future of CEC's strategic direction
• Advise: mobilising their voice in key projects and priorities

The Careers & Enterprise Company is seeking to recruit an 18-month fixed term Youth Engagement Officer to support the administration, facilitation and delivery of youth engagement and participation across our organisation. The role will sit within the Education Development Team and work closely with our Youth Advisory Group and Youth Board members. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to champion youth voice and deliver high quality youth participation activities.

This new role has an exciting remit to develop practice, to innovate in youth voice practice, to lead on the operational delivery of the Youth Advisory Group and support with the strategic direction of this work. Reporting directly to the Education Manager responsible for youth voice, but also working effectively across the directorate and across the company, you will manage the delivery of various aspects of our operations including, but not limited to:

1. Effective project management – to ensure that CEC’s YAG has the greatest impact possible, you will work with colleagues from across the business, including at times the Careers Hub Network and put in place the right tools and processes for effective delivery of all elements of the youth voice. This may include establishing and managing relationships across teams, efficient reporting procedures and may extend to other areas of CEC’s ever evolving programme of work.

2. Innovate and design – CEC’s work, and the careers education landscape, is continually evolving. Responding to changing needs of the company, skills of the YAG members and proactively planning for project pivots, will be essential to success in this role. You will look for creative ways to strengthen youth voice across the company.

The Youth Engagement Officer will support the ongoing delivery of our Youth Advisory Group to ensure that young people bring their lived experience to meaningfully and authentically shape our work: from shaping our priorities and projects, through to supporting us to guide policy makers.

About the role

Our moderators manage Facebook groups of up to 18,000 virtual challenge participants. You will be working with some of the biggest names in the sector, supporting them to raise five and six figure sums. 

This role is perfect for skilled fundraisers who can provide excellent supporter care, and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9am (or earlier), wrap up by 9pm and adhere to our sub-three hour response time. 

As a Fundraising Group Moderator, you would be responsible for:

• Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines at all times

• Identifying, escalating and signposting any safeguarding issues

• Managing your own time and work on own initiative

• Responding to all post and queries in under three hours

• Maximising registration conversions and fundraiser activation 

• Providing fundraising support to challenge participants

Our moderation takes place between 9am and 9pm, Monday-Sunday. Different challenges have different requirements and whilst you need to be on hand to monitor the group during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' professional fundraising experience. They will understand the importance of stewarding relationships and be committed to always acting in the best possible way for the charities we work so hard to support.

Terrence Higgins Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Health Promotion Specialist to join their team working as part of the Essex Sexual Health Service.

The post holder will support in the design and delivery of effective health promotion (HP) and behaviour change communication (BCC) interventions appropriate to the needs of Young People and other groups at increased risk of poor sexual health outcomes. The post holder will work closely with educational establishments to directly deliver relationship and sexual health education (RSHE), parent sessions, and educator training in both primary and secondary settings.

Delivery will also involve community engagement approaches that tackle health inequalities including HIV related stigma and discrimination. Delivering targeted interventions that increase knowledge and awareness of sexual health issues including: sexual health testing, consent, confidentiality, LGBTQ+ inclusivity, whilst also increasing access to eC-Card and access to care treatment and the uptake of broader sexual health services across Essex and Thurrock.

We are the Military Wives Choirs, the only charity that focuses on building wellbeing and resilience, through singing, for all women impacted by their military connection.   Our mission, Sing, Share, Support, is at the heart of everything we do.  

This role is part of the Choirs Support Team (CST), a small, dedicated team, that supports the network of individual Military Wives Choirs and the performances of Military Wives Choirs as a recording and performing artist. Leading on the development and delivery of the music plan for Military Wives Choirs 

Assuring the quality of our choirs’ music-making, event activity, rehearsal and performance practice and relationships with Musical Directors and other key stakeholders

Ensuring that our Musical Directors, Assistant Musical Directors and accompanists are of consistent quality and understand and support the direction and ethos that we want for our choirs

As the commissioned Restorative Justice Service for London and a Registered Service Provider with the Restorative Justice Council, Calm Mediation are committed to providing safe, high quality support to RJ participants.

If you are a Restorative Justice practitioner with a passion for supporting those affected by crime to find a positive way forward, this role is for you.

The RJ Case Coordinator will be the first point of contact for non-complex referrals into the service and will manage a busy and varied case load.  You will be responsible for progressing referrals including undertaking risk assessments and case reviews, liaison with referrers, police, probation, and prisons, overseeing and supporting our team of volunteer practitioners who facilitate the casework and undertaking a variety of administrative duties associated with the role.

You will be an RJ practitioner at Foundation level or above, with a varied experience of case work.  Experience of working with volunteers and knowledge of Salesforce case management system is desirable.

You will be supported in your professional development, RJC registration or renewal and membership.  You will have the opportunity for facilitation of case work, relevant training and continued professional development.

This position is a flexible hybrid role - working remotely from home and/or from our office premises in Camberwell, South East London - with an expectation that you will travel to team meetings and events in London several times per year and undertake in-person case work across London and the wider prison estate.

The UK government’s resettlement programmes (such as the UKRS and ARAP, as well as other UK Resettlement Schemes) support refugees who are selected and processed in the region of origin and brought to the UK with their status already determined. Under this scheme, a specific quota of refugees will be coming to the UK for resettlement.

The Refugee Council resettlement team provides advice and support for resettled refugees to help them adjust to life in the UK, access services and mainstream provision and establish community links. Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies running similar services, the Refugee Council resettlement team promotes both the integration and independence of this group. This post will work with refugees at different stages of the resettlement programme, including those who have newly arrived and others who have lived in the UK for up to five years.

The Refugee Council has agreed to work in partnership with Migration Yorkshire and Local Authorities across Yorkshire and Humberside to deliver the regional programme and is seeking 6x Resettlement Workers. In this role, you will be working in North Yorkshire on a short-term project and will report to the Area Manager.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• To provide a safe and welcoming environment for refugees, ensuring that standards are maintained and monitored and that the service meets all statutory and contractual requirements.
• To provide advice and support in line with individual client support plans in relation to accessing statutory, voluntary and mainstream services. This includes education (schools and colleges), welfare benefits, housing and health services.
• To assist refugees who may be in a confused or distressed state in understanding systems in the UK and becoming familiar with their local environment.
• To deliver advice, support, signposting and referrals through various means of communication, including in person, group briefings, in writing, and phone and video calls.

Our client is looking for a new digital manager to oversee a major digital transformation project and assist with strategic decision for a charity. The project includes a new CRM and website.

The successful candidate will have full project management responsibility for a Dynamics CRM implementation, a new website, Quartz, Exchequer and associated platforms. The internal team, and a specialist consultant, have taken the project to a stage where it needs full-time nourishment. It is well prepared for someone to take over the day-to-day of the project, plus inputting long-term insight / strategic ideas forward that will benefit the organisation as it goes through an expected period of growth.

The future ambition is for this person to oversee digital infrastructure within the organisation (currently 45 members of staff), including cybersecurity, digital strategy, main contact to all suppliers. APIs and AI integration are to be created in future business projects, so someone who will know the system inside out by then will be highly beneficial for future proofing.

Our client has good providers in place with highly technical staff who collaborate with each other and do regular testing of their systems. Where the Digital Manager will play a major role early on is keeping strong comms with the wider business, taking staff through workshops, explaining what will happen when the CRM/website goes live, putting permissions in place, governance, etc.

The role will support Disabled people to sign up to the Priority Service Register, leading to longer term energy savings and ensuring sufficient support through winter. This role will also be be able to help people heat their homes and stay warm in winter, with access to hot food through the provision of fuel vouchers, winter essentials and appliances.

In addition, the Involvement Officer will also set up a peer advocacy service to facilitate Disabled people and people with long term health conditions to come together to discuss issues and support each other.

Introduction to the role

We know that the Cost-of-Living crisis has disproportionately affected Disabled people therefore we want to do everything we can to support our members during this difficult time.

This role will support Disabled residents in Surrey to apply for energy efficiency upgrades to their homes as well as set up and run a peer advocacy service for Disabled People and those living with long term health conditions.

Main responsibilities

1. To set up and deliver group advocacy – Hold a bi-weekly peer support virtual meeting.

2. Run 'Ask a peer' sessions on our community forum each

Month (for example completing PIP applications etc)

3. Fuel Vouchers – 200 residents supported via the fuel vouchers scheme

4. Winter Essentials – 250 residents supported

5. Energy Efficient Appliances – 100 residents supported

6. In Home Visits/Phone calls to residents to assist with applications to Priority Services Register and energy efficiency home upgrade schemes.

7. Help run social activities organised by The Coalition

8. Carry out further tasks requested and agreed with the Involvement Lead, appropriate to the role and grade of the job.

The Role:

Responsible for fundraising from trusts, foundations and statutory sources.

The post holder will report to the Executive Director, Development and have close working relationships with the wider Development Department and programme managers from across The King’s Foundation. 

Key Tasks

Specific Duties will include:

• Research new sources of funds in accordance with activities and objectives in line with the organisational plan.
• Apply to trusts, foundations and statutory bodies, with responsibility for achieving an annual income target.
• Maintain and grow income from existing supporters.
• Liaise with programme managers to ensure applications meet delivery requirements.
• Support on the management of the Department’s database, ensuring that it is regularly kept up to date, adheres to GDPR and funding regulation guidelines and that regular reports and updates are provided to the Finance Department and senior management on a monthly basis.
• Be responsible for grant reporting and draw-down activities as well as keeping good records, files and information on all aspects of the work to ensure that activities and progress are monitored effectively and are made in accordance with GDPR requirements.
• Undertaking any other duties commensurate with the role, within the bounds of his/her own competence.

Person Specification

The essential skills, knowledge and experience required are:

• A proven record in fundraising from trusts and foundations
• Experience of personally managing relationships with grant-giving bodies
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Creative and innovative approach to work

Other:

• The post will be based at The Garrison Chapel, London with the requirement to travel on occasion. 
• Your working hours will be 37.5 hours per week
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK.

You will ensure that volunteers are suitably trained, assigned and supported at ClementJames. You will also ensure that there is a strong culture of celebrating and recognising the achievements of the volunteers. The role is part of the development team and so you will work closely with ClementJames’ fundraising officers to build relationships with supporters and corporate partners.

You will have excellent written English, extremely efficient organisation skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the aptitude and ability to learn on the job. You will be able to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, be very well organised and highly efficient. You will also have passion and enthusiasm for the mission of The ClementJames Centre.
