Having recently secured a strategic partnership with Sport England, this role will play a pivotal role in activating the research activities that are required to inform the Leadership Skills Foundation and the wider sector to empower a more diverse range of young people with opportunities to develop essential leadership and life skills, regardless of their background.
You will be a valued manager within the ‘Programme Delivery’ team and will work with other departments across the organization to support the development of future accessible and inclusive essential leadership programmes. Role duties and responsibilities
- Manage research and impact projects and activities, internally and externally, in support of our programme delivery strategic goals.
- Develop and manage research proposals and methodologies to address strategic goals.
- Manage both primary and secondary research using a range of methodologies.
- Interpret and analyse research to derive meaningful insights and provide actionable recommendations.

Skills, experience and knowledge
Required/essential:
- Educated to degree level in a subject with substantial statistical or research content.
- Proven experience of working in a relevant research role.
- Experience of leading/managing a range of different research projects, using a range of both primary and secondary research methodologies to gather both qualitative and quantitative research.
- Experience in designing and leading high quality research proposals and tenders.

Birmingham Programme Development
- Working closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team, lead the translation of People’s Economy’s strategy into a programme of work in Birmingham
- Working closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team, identify the resources People’s Economy needs to deliver its strategy in Birmingham and contribute to fundraising for the organisation’s programme of work in Birmingham
- Working closely with Programme Director lead outreach and relationship building with community and civil society partners, including members of the Economic Justice Brum
- Working closely with the Head of Community, lead the development of People’s Economy’s programme of outreach and relationship building with changemakers in Birmingham including current grassroots campaigns such as Save Birmingham, Save Birmingham Youth Service (SBYS), Ladywood Unite, Save Druids Heath and the Birmingham Fair Housing Campaign.

The Individual Giving Team have seen incredible growth over the last five years and we are excited to build on this with ambitious goals for where we see the programme in 2030 and beyond. Stewardship is a vital part of this ambition. We plan to recruit record numbers of supporters in the coming years and the stewardship team is essential for engaging these supporters and encouraging them to support us long term.
Within this role you will create inspiring supporter journeys for new and existing supporters using a variety of channels including direct mail, email, telephone and SMS. You will be responsible for sourcing case studies and information which demonstrate the impact of our supporters’ donations. You will use this content to create engaging communications which bring supporters closer to our work, making them feel excited about supporting Alzheimer’s Society.
You will have the opportunity to continuously test and learn to create the best journeys for our supporters and you will collaborate with the team to create the long-term stewardship strategy. You’ll work closely with our strategic creative agency and you’ll also have the opportunity to work on our brand-new supporter magazine!
You will work together with the other teams within Individual Giving and other internal stakeholders to ensure that your communications go out to the right people and are as personalised as possible and you will be responsible for monitoring campaign results, making suggestions for improvements throughout.

About you
You’ll be a team player, who is able to work effectively with stakeholders within and outside of the organisation, inspiring everyone to give their best through giving clear feedback, providing useful resources, and celebrating successes.
You will have good copywriting and editing skills. You will be able to tell a story in a clear and engaging way and be confident making complicated subjects easy to understand for supporters.
You will use your strong project management skills to deliver multiple campaigns on time and to budget. You will monitor performance and quality to ensure campaigns are delivering against targets . You will be analytical and want to delve into results to understand the impact of our stewardship communications and you will be motivated by problem solving and excited to continuously test and learn and make improvements.
You will be supporter focussed and want to give our supporters the best journey possible and finally you’ll be passionate about working for Alzheimer’s Society. Dementia is one of the biggest health challenges of our time and you will be joining a team passionate about bringing real change for people living with dementia, their families, and carers.

The Climate Action Manager will plan, design, and deliver collaborative projects, tools & resources, as well as communications activities to support businesses and communities to accelerate a just transition to net zero.
The Climate Action Manager will work across both our business transformation and community climate fund projects, so having both business facing and community facing experience of delivering sustainability projects would be advantageous.
