The post holder will ensure that our £2 million annual research spend funds the best work.  They will lead funding, governance, public and patient involvement and work closely with the Director for Research, Programmes and Impact to support strategic delivery.

The Head of Research will understand the research landscape and the processes required for research funding and governance.  They must also understand the role that the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) has in supporting this.  The post holder will be a strong communicator who can build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally, and work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.

We’re looking for an experienced Social Media Officer to support our team campaigning to stop the development of new oil and gas fields and for a rapid and fast phase out of oil & gas in the UK through a just transition.

The Role

Core responsibilities will include: 

• Maintaining and implementing content plan for social media channels (primarily Instagram, X, Tiktok and Facebook) including drafting copy, creating content and ensure consistent posting for all channels with the guidance of Digital campaigner/Digital Campaign Lead and campaign team
• Producing a range of daily digital content for Uplift’s social media channels - from simple social-first graphic design, to lo-fi effective social video content
• Working in collaboration with other creatives - ie graphic designers, video producers, creators and influencers - for additional campaign assets
• Creating reactive content and messaging to respond to current events, helping Uplift maximise opportunities for engagement and growth using the news cycle
• Community management across the various campaign channels
• Developing social media toolkits and coordinating with partners around big mobilisations
• Analysing the performance of social media outputs and their contribution towards the wider campaign, and making recommendations on how to improve
• Managing the distribution of key pieces of social media content to relevant stakeholders to increase online amplification (partners, groups and pages)

The Development Coordinator is a new role created to enable the Worthing Theatres & Museum Development team to raise crucial funds that will support the organisation in achieving its ambitious goals.

WTM has recently undergone a significant fundraising review and a new strategy is now in place. This strategy reflects the organisation’s need to increase fundraised income over the next 3 years (2024 - 2027) to meet its ambitious creative and capital plans to deliver on its mission to offer transformative creative experiences for the community of Worthing.

The postholder will work closely with the Head of Development and Development Manager to deliver the ambitious fundraising strategy for WTM. They will be responsible for raising funds of up to £10,000 per application from primarily Trusts and Foundations and some local corporate partners, and supporting the team with operational tasks including financial processes, events and communications.

Main Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

Fundraising and Relationship Management

● Manage relationships with Trust and Foundation funders giving up to £10,000 per year including ongoing donor stewardship, reporting writing, crediting etc.

● Secure new income by applying for grants and funding of up to £10,000 to support a range of WTM projects from Trust and Foundations and from local businesses including researching trusts and businesses, identifying suitable projects within the WTM portfolio to apply for, writing bids etc.

Development Operations and Support

● Lead on supporter crediting for the department ensuring that all supporters are acknowledged in relevant digital and print materials across the year.

● Act as day-to-day point of contact for the Development team’s use of the Spektrix database ensuring best practice.

● Work with the Finance team to monitor Development income on a monthly basis and report back to the Head of Development and Development Manager.

The successful candidate will have held broad finance and operations positions, with a track record of interacting at Board level and presenting clear financial and management information. Systems and controls

As our Government Fundraising Specialist, you will be at the forefront of implementing our government fundraising strategy. This role involves a blend of research, advocacy, strategic proposal development, and guidance on contractual and donor compliance. The Consultant role will support the Director and Mobilise team to coordinate and  deliver a range of projects supporting our clients. ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Community Education Officer plays an important role in both collaborating with communities to take part in shared learning and disseminating findings to wider audiences throughout the project, informing how it develops and boosting its impact. You will work in partnership with individuals and their communities, under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager as part of the education and advocacy programme. This will include cooperative identification of changes to the food system in Knowsley in the last century, engaging project participants in discussing those changes and raising awareness to wider audiences, supporting the project to achieve its aim of creating a shared understanding and celebrating Knowsley’s heritage and influencing strategies to shape the future of the borough, through sustained, quality engagement. You will support the Community Research Coordinator to capture qualitative and quantitative data that will inform reporting and contribute project monitoring and evaluation, participant outcomes and signposting groups & individuals to project activities with the aim of improving community participation & influence in our work.

The post holder will need to be proactive, working both independently and as part of a team, whilst managing and prioritising a busy workload.

Lead the coordination of the PMER Community of Practice

• Lead the coordination of the PMER Community of Practice and organise and chair the Community of Practice Steering Group. The PMER Community of Practice is an informal group designed to facilitate the sharing of learning and best practice among WaterAid staff, especially PMER staff.
• Lead on PMER Community of Practice communications including the CoP communications strategy, quarterly PMER inductions, trainings and learning sessions and communicating regular PMER updates.
• Ensure that the PMER Community of Practice is active, incentivising participation in COP activities e.g. drop in clinics, webinars, discussions etc.

Strengthen organisational PMER capacity

• Develop and manage effective PMER capacity strengthening initiatives to support the application of the PMER core procedures and especially Reporting processes. This includes developing new and strengthening existing PMER guidance and tools and developing and delivering training.
• Provide remote and/or face-to-face support to Country Programmes and Regional Teams on an ad hoc basis to strengthen and build capacity in PMER
