Increasingly we are working beyond the games and interactive entertainment industry, working on a cross sectoral basis with partners in the creative and tech industries. We also work with other relevant trade associations on an international level to share best practice and ensure we are able to react to and shape policy on a global basis.

About you

Ideally you will bring:

What you’ll be doing

• The post holder will help advance Ukie’s policy work on aspects of UK and international policy impacting the games and interactive entertainment industry through:
• Monitoring policy changes and providing in-depth policy analysis, research, and reports for internal stakeholders.
• Relationship building and engagement with Ukie members and wider sector stakeholders, including attendance at internal and external stakeholder meetings and coalition industry groups.
• Support the Senior Policy Manager in research for Ukie’s external consultation responses, co-ordinating with members and facilitating internal forums for discussions on particular issues.
• Support in organising events and engagement with policy makers within Whitehall, Westminster, the Devolved Governments and with regional, combined and local authorities as well as with our global partners in the EU, US and further afield. 
• Assisting the policy and research teams with major public affairs projects and campaigns according to the UKIEs internal strategy and drawing on Ukie’s internal data and external partners where appropriate.
• Supporting and promoting Ukie at external political meetings, including our bi-annual Westminster Games Week.
• Support in raising the profile of Ukie and its significant policy priorities through external communications in partnership with the Ukie campaigns team, and through public scrutiny such as the use of written parliamentary questions.
• Acting as the lead point of contact for the APPG on Video Games and Esports to which Ukie acts as the secretariat and taking responsibility for liaising with its members.
• Lead on external policy communications such as the Ukie Policy Byte, the bi-weekly political newsletter, with support from Senior Policy Manager and Head of Policy where necessary.
• Be responsible for the team administration of internal stakeholder meetings, including sending out invites, taking minutes and preparing relevant material as well as maintaining up to date email lists of all stakeholders.

Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain relationships with games industry member businesses and a wide range of external bodies; including partner organisations, government officials and other trade bodies.
• Support the Senior Policy Manager and Head of Policy in the management of Ukie’s internal stakeholder groups – including Ukie’s policy group and its various working sub groups.
• Maintain stakeholder engagement trackers and act as a point of contact for external engagement with Parliamentarians, regional politicians and their offices.
• Support the Head of Policy and Chief Executive in any external engagements.
• Support the policy team and wider Senior Management team with other reasonable tasks as required

 Qualifications and experience required for this role 

Qualified by experience. You don’t need to hold a degree to apply for this role, but experience of working in a policy facing role, public affairs agency or regulatory environment would be advantageous. On-the-job training will be provided via Ukie or external providers where appropriate.

Hours of Work 

• Monday to Friday – 9.00am to 5.30pm
• Expectation that some evening and weekend work may be required to attend or run Ukie events as the business requires. 

This role profile is not exhaustive; working as part of a small and dynamic team, there will be an opportunity to tailor the role to your interests and ambitions in agreement with the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Manager and Head of Policy and Public Affairs.

We seek a Programme and Project Officer, a new role that will work across our diverse portfolio, including our innovative Net Zero programme, South Bank Business Improvement District (BID), and projects for Jubilee Gardens Trust.

This role involves coordinating and delivering projects aligned with our relevant strategies and objectives, working on specific programmes, and supporting key initiatives. Rainbow Migration, the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system, is recruiting a Legal Officer to advise and help improve the representation of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and help change the asylum and immigration system to one that treats everyone with compassion, dignity and respect.

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with valid practising certificate, or already accredited to Level 3 OISC, with two years’ experience in providing advice and representation in asylum including working in legal aid.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the legal advice service. Under the guidance of our Legal Service Manager, you will also build capacity amongst legal representatives by designing and delivering training, giving second tier advice and developing and coordinating a network of practitioners working in this area. You will use the knowledge you gain in this role to help deliver Rainbow Migration’s policy work, such as inputting into policy papers and meeting with partner organisations when required.

Responsibilities will include:

· Deliver one-off advice to adult LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and work with colleagues to refer them to quality legal aid and pro bono lawyers

· Provide casework assistance e.g. helping to prepare witness statements, making referrals to other specialist organisations and taking other urgent steps (whilst not representing service users or maintaining a caseload)

· Provide occasional advice (within competence) on other issues affecting asylum and partnership service users such as asylum support, legal aid, trafficking, family reunion or community care

· Deliver second tier advice to the legal representatives of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and other charities and professionals

· Work with the Legal Service Manager to design and deliver training to lawyers, NGOs and other professionals

· Write blogs and articles on asylum and immigration policy and legislation as they apply to LGBTQI+ people

· Contribute to policy and briefing papers

· Assist with preparing guidelines and briefings for legal services and pro bono lawyers

The Legal Officer will not be providing direct legal representation of service users. However, the role includes substantive advice and casework within the scope of legal support and referrals for our service users, as well as merits testing and second tier advice.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation is looking for an experienced adviser to join our frontline Advice, Support & Enquiries Team managing all enquiries via the advice line and electronic/mail channels. Each month we receive hundreds of phone calls and emails from people who need our help. The team’s Advisers are often the first point of contact with the MCF and play a key role in our grants process.

You will need excellent customer service skills, a high level of personal resilience, ability to quickly build a good rapport with callers and be a team player who is willing to support colleagues and prioritise the needs of the team. Previous experience in a comparable role is desirable.

Day to day responsibilities include answering calls and responding to emails from individuals and families for a range of support (including daily living costs, health and care and education), liaising with our Advice and Support Advisers and Visiting Volunteers, awarding grants for counselling and consultations and keeping the grants system up to date.

The team is based in our central London office on the edge of Covent Garden, with hybrid working available
