This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Helath Advocate Educator (HAE). The post holder will train and provide ongoing support to GP practices and other health professionals to enable primary and secondary care staff to be able to effectively talk to their patients about domestic violence and abuse (DVA), provide early identification and offer appropriate care pathways for female and male victims of domestic violence and abuse aged 16 years and over.
The post holder will work in partnership with a local clinical lead to deliver the model and will participate and support the delivery of safeguarding training and awareness raising sessions to primary and secondary care staff and other multi-agency teams where needed.
This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

About the role

As the Project Officer, you will communicate confidently about walking, cycling and wheeling within school and communities in Crawley. You will be working closely with schools, enabling the pupils and families in the schools' surrounding area to leave their cars at home for the school journey.

Role Overview:
As a Project Finance Officer, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Finance to review, document, and improve the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury functions. You will also contribute to the preparation and implementation of a comprehensive fixed asset strategy for the University. Your work will be essential in ensuring the effective management and optimisation of the University's financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document and record existing financial processes, identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist in project management activities related to the improvement of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury functions.
- Support the preparation and implementation of the University’s fixed asset strategy.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues across the Finance Directorate and other University departments.
- Respond to queries from suppliers, customers, students, and university staff regarding transactions and account balances.
- Administer the Government Procurement Card scheme, ensuring accurate authorization and timely posting of expenditures.
- Set up and maintain supplier and customer accounts, and manage the accurate allocation of payments received.
- Raise sales invoices and issue customer statements as required.
- Collaborate with the systems accounts team to identify and implement process improvements.
- Organise and manage review meetings, documenting actions, and tracking project progress.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Part CCAB qualified is desired
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to document processes clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
- Proficient in Word and Excel, with the ability to handle data and documentation efficiently.
- Experience in finance-related roles, with a focus on service delivery and process improvement.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience with Unit 4 and Agresso is desired.

Work as part of a specialist team to keep abreast of trends and developments in the field, helping to disseminate this information as appropriate

Engage with and provide information, support and training to the Helpline, Regional Teams and wider charity

Ensure that the responses made to enquiries and referrals are delivered within agreed protocols, timelines and procedures and provide a professional service at all times, including maintaining accurate and timely records in line with service procedures
What you’ll bring:

Proven experience of working in an information and advisory capacity, working with people on all aspects relating to care, and supporting them to resolve issues

Excellent knowledge of current social care issues and proposed reforms, preferably across all four nations

About the role

The role will help to build, shape and deliver our In Memory Giving programme over the 12 months of this maternity cover role. Through engaging communications and campaigns the role will grow both income and the pipeline of new donors.
