It’s an exciting time to join as we are undergoing a change programme to implement Dynamics 365 so there is the opportunity to get involved in data mapping and migration activity from our legacy systems!

More about the role

As our Data Manager, you will be responsible for optimising the flow of data into our CRM system, provide oversight of the data lifecycle and ensure data is governed by the necessary policies and processes, which includes data on the pets we help, their guardians and supporters of Blue Cross.

You will be the Blue Cross lead on CRM data and will champion and contribute to the delivery of our data strategy, supporting our vision for our information to be trusted, accessible and used to change the lives of pets and people.

Working closely with Information Services colleagues, you will assist in the evolution and maintenance of the data lake(s)/repositories within the organisation, with a focus on leading the governance of organisational data.

About you

You will be a highly experienced data professional and a keen innovator with a passion for finding new and more effective ways to ingest and migrate data. 

With your significant knowledge and awareness of data management best practice, including ensuring data compliance, you will have experience in processes and routines that mean the highest data quality is achieved.  

You will be an innovative and inspiring manager of people, with a desire to stretch yourself and your team, you will provide coaching and mentoring to ensure Blue Cross adopts new and more effective ways to ingest and migrate data.

You will be adept at discussing technical subject matter with non-technical audiences, to share knowledge and promote the team’s capabilities across the organization.
 

 Knowledge, skills, and experience

  • Extensive experience in data management and working with a variety of database solutions
  • Proven experience of developing data systems and processes to increase efficiencies
  • Experience of working in a data governance role with responsibility for personal data used in a database marketing environment (including strong knowledge of the UK GDPR)
  • Experience of collaborating with technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to adapt communication approach to meet the needs of different audiences and negotiate with stakeholders at various levels
  • Understanding of issues in complex organisations of migrating data, whilst achieving and maintaining quality control to ensure that data is of a high standard 
  • Strong knowledge of data quality and data governance principles – Master Data Management, Metadata management, Data mapping, data cataloguing
