We are looking to recruit a new Managing Director to lead the team. ASN began as a group of activists and a mobile phone, and spent its early years running on passion. The Role

As our Shop Manager you will lead a team of volunteers to raise funds to invest in achieving the charity’s goal to save lives in Yorkshire. Reporting to the Retail Area Manager, you will portray the charity as a professional, credible brand which acts with integrity and provide excellent customer service, ensuring volunteers, donors and customers know how their contribution is helping the people of Yorkshire. 

Specifically, you will:

· Manage and be accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards.

· Be responsible for ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and window displays.

· Be responsible for attracting and recruiting a team of new volunteers, ensuring they are well trained and take every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment.

· Be responsible for ongoing volunteer training and engagement, ensuring the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date.

· Have line manager responsibility for assistant manager, working together to ensure there is management cover and sufficient volunteers to operate all trading hours.

· Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received).

· Be responsible for ensuring accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes.

· Prepare and complete all shop administration including cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to charity policy and procedures.

· Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

· To be ideally educated to A-level or equivalent.

· To have experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development.

· To have previous retail experience in charity sector or commercial sector is desirable.

· To have experience of meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment.

· To be highly organised with good time management skills.

· To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· To have the ability or willingness to travel occasionally across the Yorkshire region for training and team meetings.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it. 

Our shops generate valuable income to support our services, create opportunities for homeless people to learn new skills and contribute to Crisis’ work in the community. They have a unique contemporary visual identity and are dynamic and creative places to work.

About the role 

Shop from Crisis is opening a new location right in the heart of Ealing Broadway. This is an opportunity to be part of opening and establishing a brand-new shop, which will sell a mix of homeware, donated goods, and vintage pieces. You will make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness. 

As Shop Manager, you will be leading a team of staff and volunteers to deliver an outstanding customer experience, creating a vibrant, fun place to shop, work and volunteer. You will have the autonomy to develop your shop and engage with the community and will be expected to attract volunteers and donations locally. You will achieve ambitious sales and training targets, maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness.  

You will work collaboratively with a peer support group of shop managers and will have opportunities to build your own skills through training and development. 

About you 

To be successful in this role you need to be an experienced Shop Manager with proven track records of managing a high performing team and achieving sales results. You will have a genuine interest in charity retail and be seeking a challenge that stands out from other retail management roles. You will know how to manage and build Crisis’s reputation within the local community and be committed to Crisis’s values and mission to end homelessness. 

You may have experience in; retail management, stock management, people management, customer service, recruitment/interviewing.

Role Overview:
As a Project Finance Officer, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Finance to review, document, and improve the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury functions. Your work will be essential in ensuring the effective management and optimisation of the University's financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Document and record existing financial processes, identifying areas for improvement.

About this role:
As Senior Training and Behaviour Advisor, you’ll:

• work closely with staff across the country to ensure dogs in our care have effective, bespoke rehabilitation programmes to meet their needs,
• provide advice to centre staff in rehoming centres, as well as contributing to the ongoing assessment and rehabilitation of dogs in our care,
• collaborate with Behaviour Officers to provide bespoke behaviour training,
• in specific cases, complete independent assessments of dog behaviour to evaluate and understand the best approach.

About you:
In this role you’ll be mentoring and motivating our Behaviour teams, so you'll need experience of giving regular feedback and supporting colleagues with professional development, while being empathetic to the impacts of working closely with dogs with complex behaviour.. You’ll need significant experience of handling challenging dogs and assessing dog behaviour, particularly in a kennel environment. This will be supported by excellent knowledge of dog behaviour and the ability to tailor evidence based, appropriate behaviour plans.

Your new role

To provide support to the Assistant Registrar and team in enabling them to make informed decisions regarding applications to the register and following the Registrar's decision to assist in the management of the Registrar's appeal process.

Case management of registration applications

• Manage a caseload of registration applications. Gather evidence in order to ensure the Registrar is able to make informed judgements and decisions.
• Evaluate whether applications for renewal or readmission satisfy the post-registration education and practice standards.
• Assess information provided by the applicants and from other relevant sources.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the management of cases is supported by the appropriate expert advice, including the police service and medical professionals and employers.
• Act as the contact point for the applicants, responding to their queries and proactively updating them on the progress of their cases.
• Investigate any issues that may affect the Registrar's judgement on registration applications. Issues of whether the applicant is safe and effective to practise, whether they hold approved qualifications and whether they satisfy the prescribed standards of continual professional development.
• Quality assure each case prior to presentation to the Registrar, ensuring all relevant information is presented.
• Prepare reports and present cases to the Registrar for decision and offer advice on cases when required.
• Minute meetings to ensure decisions are accurately recorded and updated. Relay these decisions to applicants in line with SOP.

Case management of Registration appeals

• Manage a caseload of appeals ensuring that cases are created appropriately and managed in line with standard operating procedures
• Act as the contact point for the appellants, responding to their queries and proactively updating them on the progress of their cases.
• Engage with all stakeholders, including witnesses, employers and other organisations as required. Write witness statements and take evidence from witnesses.
• Liaise with members of registration and legal advisors to ensure that appeals are managed through investigation within the agreed timescales and KPI's.
• Record the outcome of appeal hearings and meetings, updating the in-house and other data recording systems.

What you'll need to succeed

• Casework management, able to organise, prioritise and respond flexibly to changing demands. Able to work proactively to deliver against targets and tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills. A clear and assured communicator both verbally and in writing. Able to present information clearly and listen actively.
• Able to understand and explain complex policy and legislation to internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to display empathy and understanding whilst dealing with customers.
• Experience of working with sensitive personal information and appropriate data protection measures. Excellent attention to detail when dealing with sensitive information.

We are looking for a Shop Manager to lead our team in the Great Baddow shop. You will be working in a creative environment, working with donated goods to maximise sales and net contribution.

You will make a real difference to young people in England by helping to raise the vital funds needed to support our frontline work. You will need to be driven and focused on making money, and have good communication skills both inside and outside the shop, reaching out to the local community to help build support for the shop.

As a Shop Manager you will manage 2 part time Assistant Shop Managers along with a team of diverse volunteers. You will need great people skills and be confident at working with people from different backgrounds, creating a welcoming and positive experience for all of our staff, volunteers and supporters.

The Role of Engagement Manager

The B Corp movement is continuing to grow at pace, the community now more than 2,200 strong in the UK. The Engagement Manager is an exciting role that will be key to facilitating and enhancing the customer journey for existing B Corps. As we transition from a small community managed in direct 1:1 relationships to a much larger community managed at scale, our understanding of how to best engage and support B Corps of all sizes will be crucial. This new role will take a specific focus on key accounts, and amplifying their work to serve the organisational mission.

Responsibilities will include:

Key Accounts

• Responsible for developing and delivering a brand new customer journey for B Corp Key Accounts. This includes:
  • Designing a new approach to onboarding and ongoing long term customer experience of being a member of the B Corp Community.
  • Building relationships with key B Corp accounts to support them in engaging with the collective action, policy and influence elements of the new B Lab UK strategy.
  • Working closely with the Growth and Product team to build a new pre-certification onboarding approach.
  • Ensuring all relevant key accounts receive cohort support as part of the B Corp Community.
  • Working with Impact and Data team members to ensure examples of impact are identified, and a plan developed for communicating this best practice through the wider B Corp Community.
  • Develop opportunities for key accounts to meet directly in relevant groups, building cross organisational relationships amongst key stakeholders at these companies.
  • Ensure the Leadership Team of relevant key accounts have the opportunity to connect and engage with the B Lab Leadership team.
  • Identify opportunities for Key Accounts to be advocates for the mission of B Lab, ensuring they are prioritised for communications and opportunities for collective action and advocacy.
  • Develop an understanding of levels of engagement within the key accounts group - building and regularly applying an engagement tracker to monitor the health of engagement.
  • Ensure all key contacts are up to date, including ensuring the wider B Lab UK team maintains up to date contact information.

CEO Engagement

• Accountable for assembling a cross organisational team to design and deliver a CEO Engagement Programme to engage B Corp CEOs in aligning with and supporting the new B Lab UK Strategy to achieve economic change.
• Design a process for monitoring engagement, and set ambitious targets for the involvement of all key accounts engaging in the CEO Programme.

Campaigns

• • Key role on major B Lab UK events for the community, taking a primary focus on engagement targets of B Corps within the key account groups. 
  • B Corp Month- working with the Engagement Manager (Network), develop and deliver an effective engagement strategy for Key Accounts before, during and after B Corp Month.

Management

• Manage Community Assistant and responsible for their development in the role. Set objectives and oversee workload and performance.
• Support Community Assistant in managing FreshDesk and other community support responsibilities.

Skills and Experience:
Essential

• Accomplished relationship builder and communicator with a track record of engaging diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organisational, prioritisation and administrative skills.

Managing Director

We are looking for a Managing Director in this new role, which will support our existing Creative Director/ CEO with the strategic leadership of Cartwheel Arts.

Position: Managing Director

Location: Greater Manchester/hybrid (onsite attendance in Heywood, Rochdale at least 2-3 days per week, one of which must be a Wednesday)

Hours: Full-time 37 hours per week

Salary: £40,560 per annum

Contract: Fixed term contract until March 2027, however our intention would be to extend this role, subject to funding.

Benefits: 7.5% employer pension contribution, with a requirement of 0.5% contribution to be made by the post-holder and 30 days holiday plus public holidays.

The Role
