The purpose of the role is to provide leadership of fundraising, partnership development, marketing and communications functions to drive the growth of the charity’s income.

Key Relationships

Internal: All Foundation Staff and Trustees.

External: Cardiff City FC Directors and Senior Management, Premier League and Premier League Charitable Fund, EFL and EFL in the Community, Major Donors, Corporate Partners, Trusts and Foundations, Grant Making Bodies and other funders, Media, Welsh Government, Local Government any other external stakeholders that support and benefit the work of the Foundation.

Our client, a leading London University are currently looking to recruit a temporary Recruitment & Workforce Manager on a full-time basis (35 hours per week). Looking to start as soon as possible, running for 6 weeks in the first instance. The post will be based in Farringdon.
 
Key responsibilities for this post will include:

• Preparing and checking job advertisements, descriptions and person specifications within the institute, ensuring internal quality and standardisation.
• Overseeing the appointment process for the institution from start to finish, ensuring all documentation is uploaded correctly to the e-recruitment system before being processed.
• Liaising with centre leads and academics to prepare business cases, for new or replacement posts within the institution, for consideration by the Faculty Recruitment Panel or Strategic Recruitment Board.
• Ensuring the correct and effective use of the university’s e-recruitment and HR systems.
• Undertaking and processing Right to Work checks,
• Ensuring various regulations and requirements are met, including GDPR, EDI requirements and UKVI compliance.
• Liaising with agencies where required and managing the process for contract extensions and temporary contracts as required.
• Direct line management of the administrative officer/assistant.
• Liaising with HR, Finance and other stakeholders to build effective working relationships and ensure that recruitment and the workforce
• Supporting members of staff on HR issues, and signposting appropriate services when necessary.
• Collecting, monitoring and maintaining personnel records, data management, ensuring that all data is accurate and in compliance with GDPR.

 
To be considered for this post, you will have:

• Experience in a similar role, from within a Higher Education setting or similar organisation.
• Demonstrable experience of providing high quality HR support in a variety of areas.
• Experience in using online recruitment databases and systems.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, including knowledge of UKVI points-based system and other UK immigration regulations.
• Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
• Understanding of the confidential nature of HR work and the ability to deal with sensitive information accordingly.
• Strong time management and organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Financial and numerical literacy.

The Associate Director of Local Fundraising is a senior role within the Income, Innovation and Engagement directorate; a highly ambitious and professional team which is working to grow income and strengthen the organisation’s voice across the UK as the leading end of life care charity in the UK. Marie Curie has ambitious financial growth targets and needs to drive net contribution, engagement and awareness if they are to achieve their fundraising ambitions and subsequently their service growth goals.

The primary focus of the role is to maximise the net contribution from local fundraising but also to  drive community awareness and engagement with Marie Curie.  This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.

The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie.  With all local relationships managed by this role’s teams, the post will ensure that supporters have a connected, seamless experience.

The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in increasing voluntary income or revenue. They will also have experience in developing both annual operational and three-year strategic plans, developing creative and innovative solutions and digital marketing and in working with working with volunteers and engaging local communities. This will be combined with a proven track record in managing large high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.

This is an ideal career opportunity for an individual with extensive community fundraising experience looking to either broaden their portfolio or take the next step towards a Director of Fundraising role.

As CTA's Business Development Manager, your role involves increasing the uptake of MiDAS training and growing CTA membership. To do this you will need to have/develop an in-depth knowledge of the sector, be able to conduct your own research, develop relationships with our key stakeholders, and track performance metrics.

Responsibilities

Promoting CTA services, increasing uptake, and retention.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing members, ensuring their satisfaction and engagement to retain our existing membership.
• Develop and foster relationships with local authorities, umbrella organisations, charities, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders across the UK to promote CTA membership offerings.
• This will include creating a promotional package for CTA membership to be delivered to organisations across the UK.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and outreach strategy to promote MiDAS training courses.
• You will do this by collaboratively working with MiDAS customers, training providers, local authorities, and community organisations to raise awareness of MiDAS and its benefits. This will include running workshops, webinars, and information sessions to educate potential clients on MiDAS standards and certification that encourage participation in MiDAS training.
• Build and maintain connections with commercial organisations affiliated with CTA, ensuring strong relationships, and the offers are relevant adding value to CTA membership.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including creating focused campaigns to attract new members and boost membership sales. This will include collaborating with CTA’s Country Directors and Development Officers to share these campaigns and involve them in the process.
• Using available internal MiDAS sales and participation data, develop a thorough understanding of who purchases and uses the product and how this can be leveraged to increase participation in the training programme and drive its income.
• Responsible for contributing to the MiDAS / Training newsletter
• Make the best use of social media, including content creation, to promote CTA membership and training offering.
• Work with senior leadership group to develop our sales systems and processes.
• Provide excellent customer service to address inquiries, resolve issues, and encourage membership renewals.

Research, analysis and reporting

• Develop and implement strategies to identify trends within the Community Transport sector and beyond. In doing so you will identify potential new stakeholders, potential threats, opportunities and areas for growth.
• Monitor developments within the wider voluntary and transport sector and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Use these insights to regularly provide feedback to the leadership group and make recommendations for growth.
• Track and report on key performance indicators related to MiDAS training and CTA membership. Including providing regular updates to management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
