In this new, impactful role, you will be responsible for mobilising and subsequently continuously improving a new network engagement and support function. Working collaboratively with local Age UKs and national teams, the Director of Network Engagement & Support will be responsible for developing and implementing a network engagement and support strategy. This includes driving forward changes that may include the type of support provided, the way in which it is delivered and how it is monitored and measured to ensure our approach is responsive, sustainable and supports the strategic objectives and operational needs of the network.

This will require collaborative working across a range of teams to ensure a coherent and coordinated approach. This role and team will engage directly with local Age UK leadership, be the owner of the organisational overview of the network and network interactions, ensuring risks and issues are appropriately managed and that there is an effective and transparent flow of information across the organisation and network including into formal governance mechanisms.  

The Director of Network Engagement & Support will ensure the effective delivery and operation of several formal and informal network engagement activities, for example Chief Officer induction. Whilst taking responsibility for providing team strategic direction and management to achieve objectives, the role holder is also expected to be a visible and constructive participant within both the wider Age UK senior management team and the senior team of the Network division.

Role Overview

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and versatile Data and Impact Officer to join our supportive and talented team. You will be passionate about using your knowledge and experience to further the important work of UP in supporting children and young people with SEMH needs to reach their full potential.

This is a new role to our charity, in response to our growth, and you will play a key part in supporting our services and future plans. We are looking for an experienced grants fundraiser to join us and make a significant impact on our work with young people in central Doncaster. 

We are currently finalising our next Forward Plan, with an ambition to create an inclusive, vibrant community, committed to everyone having a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become.  We currently work with children and young people aged 5 to 30. 

Our priority programmes include support coaching for young people, community activity sessions, sustaining our accommodation provision for vulnerable young adults and establishing how we can best support more young people on the homelessness pathway.  We have some great spaces that are in need of development, and we expect that both capital and revenue funding will be included in your workload. We also look for smaller grants during the course of the year, including for food for our residents and supplies for our art groups, and we hope to recruit volunteers to assist with the smaller and less complex bids. 

You would – for now – be our only Grants Officer, so should be familiar with the whole cycle of applications and monitoring and able to work independently.  This is a fabulous opportunity to make your mark on young lives in Doncaster and take our fundraising to the next level. 

Main Responsibilities

• To work delegated idea notes into fundable project profiles, each with a clear and compelling case for support.

Person Specification

The role of Head of Finance – Treasury and Financial Planning will lead, manage and co-ordinate the provision of the Groups Financial Planning, Treasury Management Services and Management Accounting functions as well as assist the Finance Director to lead and manage the Finance team.

• Oversee cashflow forecasting, managing all cash and loan balances.

Essential criteria:

• Fully qualified Accountant.
• Previous experience working in either social housing, a commercial house builder or residential lettings.
• Experience developing and delivering on treasury strategy.
• Technical knowledge around long term planning AND management accounting forecasting.
• Strong people management skills as well as being resilient and have an appetite for change.

This position requires someone able to commit to working three days per week from Populo’s head office in Stratford. Benefits include 30 days of annual leave and an employee pension contribution scheme of 10%.
