Job Purpose
One Place London is a community interest company located in West London engaged in Acting for Film and Music Recording workshops for young people aged 14-25, unemployed or at risk of getting involved in crime. As a key member of the Accounts Team working, this post will work alongside the Treasurer reporting to the Managing Director.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform reconciliations, including rent, bank, supplier, and other accounts.
- Responsible for Rent accounting and Purchase Ledger systems.
- Post journals accurately and efficiently to the accounting system.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Support the year-end audit process, including preparing schedules and liaising with auditors.

This Role
The Emergency Nutrition Network needs to expand its funding base. To do this we would like to open funding potential from the private and corporate sectors, new foundations and other funders that may have an interest in working to improve nutrition for people in emergency and high malnutrition contexts.

CARA (Centre for Action on Rape and Abuse) works with victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse, providing independent, specialist support and promoting and representing their rights and needs.
CARA works with adults, young people and children from across Mid and North Essex and Uttlesford. Over the last 10 years, CARA has grown significantly. Our client numbers have more than quadrupled and we have developed a wide range of services for victims and survivors of all ages and genders. We currently have a team of 36 full and part-time staff and over 20 sessional counsellors.
CARA is looking to recruit new trustees to our Board. As a CARA trustee, you will have the opportunity to be involved with a forward-thinking and fast-developing feminist charity. Our Board of trustees provide strategic direction and governance to CARA, overseeing our finances and management, working closely with the Senior Management Team. CARA’s Board of Trustees are also registered as our directors for the purposes of company law.

About Safe Passage International
Safe Passage International (SPI) is a charity that champions the rights of people seeking asylum and displaced people as they flee persecution. We use the law to help them access safe routes to a place of safety and we work alongside them to campaign for change and build public support for safe passage for all.
We have a particular focus on supporting unaccompanied children and young people to reunite with family and reach protection in Europe, although we also work with adults and family groups too.

SPI is run by a Board of Directors known as Trustees. The Trustees work on a voluntary basis to uphold the core purpose of the charity, set its strategy, and protect its reputation. SPI’s existing Board currently has ten Trustees who between them have expertise by experience and / or knowledge and experience in the areas of safeguarding and casework, campaigning and advocacy, EU policies and law, finance, HR, leadership development, public policy, and governance.

What is a Trustee at Safe Passage International expected to do?
The overriding duty of all charity trustees is to advance the purposes of their charity as well as several basic legal duties. You can find out more about Trustees’ legal responsibilities here.
As a new Trustee, you will be a full and equal Board member. The Board of Trustees works closely with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team of Safe Passage International to achieve its mission, and is responsible for providing support, guidance, and decisions in the following areas:
- Leadership: appointing the Chief Executive, supporting them in their role and holding them accountable.
- Accountability: ensuring that Safe Passage International is transparent and accountable to the public, our beneficiaries, and our donors about the way we carry out our mission and the way we spend the funds our supporters entrust to us.
- Strategic thinking: helping the charity to set goals and objectives, and work towards achieving them.
- Financial Oversight: including a formal review of the charity’s annual budget and supporting the Senior Leadership Team in financial management and organisation.

Safe Passage International’s Board members are appointed for a term of three years, which can be renewed. Like all other charities, Safe Passage International’s Board members are volunteers. The role is therefore unpaid. However, SPI will pay for your travel to meetings and other necessary expenses.

Founded in 2005, the charity is dedicated to harnessing the power of sport to uplift disadvantaged communities. They partner with Sport England and Sport Wales, supporting a network of over 1600 organisations to provide accessible sports opportunities. Their vision is to create healthier, safer, and more successful communities through sport, with a focus on equity and inclusion.
Role Overview:
This is an unpaid, strategic leadership role with reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses. As Chair, you will play a key role in ensuring effective governance, supporting the Executive team in setting vision and policy, and promoting impactful change within the organisation.
As Chair you will:
- Lead the Board of Trustees, ensuring effective governance and strategic oversight.
- Create a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and shared decision-making among trustees.
- Collaborate with the Executive to set vision, values, and strategic policies
- Monitor organisational performance and ensure financial sustainability
- Safeguard the culture, reputation, and values of the organisation.
Who We're Looking For:
You'll thrive in this role if you are:
- An empathetic and inclusive leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Experienced in leadership roles within values-driven, charitable organisations, ideally with governance experience.
- Passionate about the role of sport in transforming young lives, particularly in disadvantaged communities.
- Committed to creating equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, with a demonstrated ability to lead in these areas.
- Knowledgeable about the duties and legal responsibilities of trusteeship.
The Package:
The Chair role is unremunerated, but reasonable out-of-pocket expenses related to travel, subsistence, and accommodation will be covered.
This position requires a commitment of at least two days per month and involves heading three online Board meetings and three in-person awaydays annually. The Chair will also engage with the Chief Executive and other Executive team members on governance and strategy, and attend key events and gatherings.

About the role
As a Trustee, you will have the opportunity to influence our development, and with the other members of our Board, you will be responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity.

Zambia Orphans Aid UK (ZOA-UK) is looking for part-time volunteers to support our Digital & Communications work by giving three hours a week. The ideal candidate/s will have a passion for all things digital and an interest in international development. We are seeking people who have good digital understanding, a flare for design and experience of creating social media content across a range of platforms.
You will possess a positive attitude together with a proactive approach to problem solving. You will be home-based and have the freedom to set your own hours, so self-motivation is essential.
This post will support ZOA-UK’s communications and digital activities to increase the reach, profile and influence of the charity and build our brand as a leading charity supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Africa. Our volunteers support the small team to create a cohesive and effective approach to delivering our messages to target audiences, driving supporter engagement and donations, and raising awareness of the needs of orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia.
Range of likely duties to include:
1. Write up case studies and stories of change and ensure they and accompanying photographs and video footage are stored securely in our image and case study database
2. Help build our social media activity to achieve measurable outcomes in terms of raising awareness, and increasing numbers of supporters who convert to become donors
3. Use Canva to create inspiring content for social media channels – Instagram, facebook, X, linkedin etc
4. Create blogs, infographics and other content for the website, ZOA-UK’s supporter newsletters and annual report
