Purpose of the job/About the role

To support this transformation, we are seeking a Deputy Director of IT who will lead in delivering a reliable, secure, and innovative IT environment that enhances the charity’s operations.
In this role, you will lead technical teams, manage projects, oversee IT infrastructure, and ensure that technology aligns with the charity’s strategic goals. You will play a vital role in advancing our digital capabilities, enabling efficient operations and supporting the expansion of our mission-driven activities.
As a strategic leader, you will contribute to the overall strategy for Finance and Corporate Services, offering insights and guidance. You will oversee the development and implementation of the overarching IT strategy, working closely with the Director to ensure alignment with the Directorate Strategy. In addition, you will lead in the creation and execution of the charity’s Data Strategy, empowering Dementia UK to effectively harness data into actionable goals with clear performance metrics.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders such as fundraising, clinical, finance and people teams to understand their IT needs and explore opportunities to enhance service delivery, fundraising, and donor engagement through technology. Your oversight of IT infrastructure will span servers, networks, cloud environments and data centers, ensuring reliable and secure operations while implementing best practices in security and data protection. You will also ensure that IT policies and procedures comply with industry standards, including GDPR, Charity Commission requirements, and data security guidelines.
To succeed in this role, you will have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with extensive experience in senior IT management, with a focus on infrastructure, security, and project management. You will possess sound knowledge of IT governance, security, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR) and have experience with cloud platforms, network infrastructure, and database management. Exceptional communication skills will be essential, enabling you to convey complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Job Purpose:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will act as a resource for The Robin Cancer Trust, beneficiaries, healthcare professionals and the wider public on germ cell cancers. The role includes service delivery and development, reviewing our health information and health education and awareness training resources, and supporting the creation and facilitation of a new Medical Advisory Group for Robin Cancer Trust. They will also work with the CEO to contribute to wider work to streamline and develop the services offered by The Robin Cancer Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead responsibility for keeping up to date with clinical updates relating to germ cancer and communicating these to the team to inform service development and delivery.
- Research, create and provide accessible information and resources on all aspects of germ cell cancer (detection, treatment, recovery and survivorship)
- Oversight of the content provided in all training materials, resources and information developed by the wider team relating to germ cell cancer detection, treatment and recovery and survivorship.
- Build external stakeholder and peer relationships with other key cancer partners including hospital networks, cancer care partnerships, and other voluntary sector providers. Playing an active role in the germ cell cancer community.
- Working as a core part of the Robin Cancer Trust team to engage people face to face, providing information and on early detection, treatment, and recovery.
Person Specifications
Essential qualifications:
- Nursing and Midwifery Council registration and a degree in a related subject.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is a charity for the conservation of birds and nature, bringing people together who love birds and other wildlife, and who want to take action to restore the health and diversity of the natural world. We have a part-time, fully online/ remote role available to produce monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts. The role requires good working knowledge and experience of Xero accounting software, as well as experience working with a small organisation.
We require someone to work 3-4 days a month. The working hours are flexible and would suit someone who may be re-entering the job market or is retiring, but looking for some additional work.
We have a Finance and Facilities Officer who is responsible for the day-to-day input of transactions into Xero, reconciling bank statements, producing invoices and remittance advice for grants and liaising with payroll. The payroll function is outsourced to CET Payroll. The unaudited financial statements are prepared by the independent examiner. The CEO is responsible for the financial management of the organisation.
Your role
The work would include:
- monthly preparation and posting of payroll journals
- reconciliation of the monthly accounts (including rectifying any discrepancies).
- monthly income and expenditure report and variance analysis
- monthly cashflow forecast on a cumulative basis
- processing of accruals and adjustment Production of quarterly and annual budgets and reforecasts
