Working closely with the Head of Research Funding, the Trusts & Foundations Lead will identify new opportunities for funding and manage Trust and Foundation applications end-to-end. This varied role will include managing a pipeline of opportunities, researching and liaising with healthcare professionals such as clinicians, researchers, and other key stakeholders to develop compelling requests for support and funding.

The role holder will be a confident self-starter with demonstrable evidence of raising funds from corporates, grant making trusts and foundations, company foundations, public sector funders and lottery bodies. A key aspect of the role will be establishing and maintaining positive relationships with smaller funders (£10k-£100k), ensuring all obligations under grant agreements, such as updates and reporting, are fulfilled in an engaging and timely manner.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join Barnardo's as a Team Manager within the Resilient Families Service, working across RCT, to support children, young people and their families. Our team is split into two areas covering the East and West of RCT. There is a Team Manager post in each area, and this vacancy is for the Team Manager of the East Team, covering the Cynon Valley and East half of Taff Ely.

What is the Resilient Families Service?
The Resilient Families Team is part of the Resilient Families Service providing an early intervention and prevention service for families with children/young people aged 0-18yrs across Rhondda Cynon Taff. The service increases the resilience levels of the children, young people and their families through working alongside other partner agencies to ensure intervention plans are effectively delivered, delivering direct support and advocating for the children, young people and their families.

What will the job involve?
As a Team Manager you will be a registered Social Worker and will line manage the team of Intervention Workers who are responsible for providing advice, guidance and support to families in accordance with the aims and objectives of the service. You will be responsible for:
•    Direct line management of a team of Intervention Workers supporting well-being, development, case work, performance and behaviour.
•    Case allocation, monitoring, quality assurance and audit
•    Responding to all safeguarding concerns received via C1/PPN referrals, disclosures or observations and escalating to Children's Services appropriately.
•    Working in partnership with the Resilient Families Service Management Team, Children's Services, Education, Health and Community Agencies.

Please note, this role requires a Social Work qualification as an essential part of the criteria, however you will not hold any statutory duty as a Social Worker. You will be managing an early intervention service and supporting the team to deal with, respond and escalate any safeguarding concerns to Children's Services.

What are we looking for?
•    Substantial experience working with children, young people and their families
•    Management or supervision experience in a relevant setting with the capability in giving feedback to teams in relation to performance
•    Demonstratable record of working constructively with partner agencies and commissioners
•    Substantial experience of responding to, and escalating safeguarding concerns
•    Demonstrable experience of promoting and developing a positive culture within a team setting

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Young People, Volunteer & Business Support the postholder will provide our disbursed team of Growth & Development Workers with clear management, guidance, support and advice on growth, development, volunteer recruitment and retention. The role will coordinate and drive forward our work in these area, helping the Sea Cadets to make a difference to the lives of even more young people across the UK.

The postholder will have excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload and operate in a collaborative way with others. They will have an understanding of issues facing volunteering, recruitment, retention and growth in voluntary organisations and the effective management and support of remote workers is essential.

Responsibilities

The following is a list of the principal tasks of the Head of Growth, Development & Outreach and is not intended to be an exhaustive list:

• Provide line management for the Project Coordinators, Growth & Development Team Leaders and through them the Growth & Development Workers.
• Providing both management support and technical advice on growth, development and volunteer recruitment, retention and support functions.
• Contribute to the strategic development and sustainable growth of The Sea Cadets nationally.
• Lead and manage the effective implementation of new and ongoing projects that support outreach, growth, development, volunteer and/or cadet recruitment and retention, including but not limited to externally funded projects, liaising with and reporting to funders as required
• Support and advise employees, volunteers and others on the growth and development of the Sea Cadets.

• Experience of managing and supporting a disbursed staff team
• Experience of successful growth & development in a community organisation context
• Experience of working with volunteers and a good understanding of how to ensure they are effectively recruited, managed and supported
• Experience of working and/or volunteering in a voluntary youth organisation

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Director of Fundraising, Communications and Marketing to develop and promote new fundraising campaigns, including individual giving and regular giving campaigns
• Support the Director of Fundraising, Communications and Marketing to launch a new Gifts in Wills campaign and support the delivery of legacy fundraising.
• Work with colleagues across the fundraising, marketing, and communications team and the wider organisation to support the development of integrated fundraising and marketing campaigns. In 2025, our priority is the delivery of a 60-anniversary campaign.

People management

• Manage a Fundraising Assistant, setting objectives and overseeing their work.
• Support the Fundraising Assistant’s professional development by providing mentoring and identifying opportunities for professional development.

Other roles and responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Fundraising, Communications and Marketing team and colleagues across the organisation.
• As required, support and deliver consultation activities with service users, to ensure their lived experiences are considered in our fundraising activities.

We are recruiting a Challenge Events Manager as part of our Fundraising team. This is a flexible role, working from both home and our offices. Flexibility is key for this role as there will be some expectations for working evenings and weekends at events. The fundraising team do meet one day per week at our London office.

We currently have the opportunity for a new Feline Behaviour & Training Advisor to join our team at Brands Hatch. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the best practice management of cats, including welfare and temperament assessments. You will also support in the provision of behavioural and welfare training and expert guidance for staff, volunteers, and customers.

Whilst primarily based at our Brands Hatch Centre, this role will require weekly travel to our Battersea London Centre.

Role Overview

This role will be responsible for supporting the Director of Operations to deliver the Community Services Strategy for the Trust in this new and exciting role.

The Head of Community Services will be responsible for overseeing and leading a comprehensive range of services and programmes that foster a supportive, engaging, and vibrant environment for senior residents. The role involves the management and development of social, recreational, health, and wellness services, ensuring the wellbeing of residents, enhancing their quality of life, and fostering a sense of community within the village. This will include overseeing the village shop, club house and bar functions, and a new café which will offer psychosocial support to this vibrant community, in addition to supporting the resident led activities within the village

You will manage and work alongside teams across volunteering, hospitality, and support to deliver activities and services for the mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing of our residents in order to reduce loneliness and isolation. You will also take a lead on implementing the dementia strategy for the village working closely with the Registered manager of our extra care facility and the head of housing.

This is a wide- and far-reaching challenging role but with lots of scope for innovation. As a new Registered Provider of Social Housing, the Trust is moving into a new era but wants to retain the ethos of almshouse charities, continuing to promote the health and wellbeing aspects of this special community where we aim to enable our beneficiaries to age well.

With the support of the Director of Operations, you will identify and deliver projects to generate income for future development of Community Services. You will engage in co-production with residents, whilst exploring opportunities to apply for grants or charitable funding, to enable these activities to be develop and grow in the future.

What will you be doing?

Main Responsibilities

· Drive and deliver on the implementation of strategic plans that support the move to a predominantly funded/volunteer supported and co-produced community, increasing income and reducing costs.

· Lead and develop community programmes that promote socialisation, engagement, and emotional well-being for residents.

· Create opportunities for older people in the local community to participate in a variety of recreational, educational, and cultural activities.

· With the support of the Leadership team and other colleagues assist in leading a cultural change programme where residents are empowered and active within the community, working collaboratively with TWHT employees.

· Line management responsibilities for the hospitality manager, volunteer services manager and shop assistant/manager (these services are key to the wellbeing of our residents).

· To oversee and manage the community budget, showing cost reduction and/or increased revenue year on year ensuring efficient allocation of resources while maintaining a high standard of service delivery.

· To ensure KPI’s are recorded and reported on a monthly basis to the Director of Operations

· Develop and maintain good working relationships with all residents, managers, members of staff, and the wider colleague team within Whiteley Village

· To ensure robust and transparent 2-way communication with residents of Whiteley Village.

· To build solid relationships with external stakeholders, supporters and local community groups in order to develop mutually beneficial support. Identify and manage any external funding sources or grants that can enhance community offerings.

· To work alongside the Head of Marketing and Communications, and Trust fundraising consultants to ensure that our charitable status, fundraising efforts and community success stories are shared widely.

· Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure high levels of service delivery and resident satisfaction.

· Foster a positive work culture focused on resident-centric care and employee collaboration.

· Report on programme performance, resident feedback, and staff performance to the village management team working closely with the Head of Housing. Prepare reports and polices as required

· Ensure community services comply with relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards ensuring regular audits of designated areas are completed and risk assessments conducted.

· Promote a safe environment for all residents, staff, and visitors, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

· Ensure open and effective communication with residents and families regarding available programmes, services, and any changes.

General
