Who is The Charlie Waller Trust?
The Charlie Waller Trust was created by the Waller family in 1997 in response to the loss of their son and brother Charlie who died by suicide. We have since become one of the UK’s most respected mental health charities for children and young people. Our overarching mission is to educate those with responsibility for children and young people - parents and carers, teachers, college and university staff, and employers - about children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
The Youth Ambassador Role: We are seeking UK-based Youth Ambassadors (16-25 year olds) to join our Youth Involvement Team. We wish to appoint people that can bring diverse experiences in education, work or community in order to help create and shape the work that we do. The Youth Ambassadors role is about prioritising youth representation, identity and community across our charitable activity and beyond. The Charlie Waller Team will provide appropriate training, guidance, and ongoing support to those selected.
What will the role involve?
- Working remotely for up to 2 days (14 hours) a month.
- Attending a Charlie Waller Team day in person in March 2025, in London. Travel expenses will be covered.
- Attending up to six online group meetings with other youth ambassadors and the youth involvement team.
- Preparing for all meetings by reading any specified materials and conducting any preparatory activities.
- Making advisory recommendations regarding the Charlie Waller Trust’s existing projects and programmes in schools, universities, colleges and the workplace.
- Opportunities to be involved in our podcast series, our equity, diversity and inclusion and sustainability working groups, fundraising events and co-delivery of training.
- Co-producing new and reviewing current training materials, resources, and communications.
- Opportunities to public speak at CWT meetings and events, as well as at events and conferences with external partners.
- Attending training sessions around topics ranging from public speaking to mental health research.
- Opportunities to attend mental health conferences on behalf of CWT.
- Opportunities to work with partnership organisations such as The Charlie Waller Institute or the Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Coalition.
- There will be other potential opportunities to co-produce and contribute to other CWT projects and activities, for example as a filmmaker/ researcher/ event organiser/ fundraiser etc.
- There will also be opportunities to bring ideas of your own to the Youth Involvement Team.

How much time am I expected to commit?
We expect those joining the Youth Ambassador group to join on a freelance basis for one year from February 2025 to January 2026.
Hours are subject to change each month but on average we would plan for you to work for CWT for up to 14 hours (2 days) per month. The majority of the working hours offered can be arranged as flexibly as possible around your other commitments
Will I be paid?Ambassadors will be remunerated for their time at a delivery and desk rate of £15 per hour for work both online and in person.
Desk work includes training preparation, resource coproduction or review, attending meetings and involvement in focus groups. Delivery work includes training delivery, public speaking at an event about the work of the Trust or hosting or being interviewed on the ambassador podcast.
Any expenses incurred in the role will be covered in line with the Charlie Waller Trust’s expenses policy (public transport or mileage at 45p mile). Payment will be made via bank transfer following the completion of an invoice or hours claim form. Further detail will be provided if you are appointed to the group.

Role overview
To be an integral part of the people team giving advice on a range of complex ER issues to employees and line managers. This is a specialist role that will look pro-actively to make improvements to policy and employee relations. What will I be doing?

About you...

Ideally you would need to be CIPD part qualified or studying towards a qualification.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of a 3-year Train the Trainer pilot programme in the chosen pilot locations in England or Scotland.

The Peer Mentor & Group Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the design, delivery and project management of the Maia group programme and Peer Mentor offer. You are able to learn from and engage with YWG to co-design groups and workshops programme and work closely with colleagues identify opportunities for YWG to make their voices heard and share their insights with a wider audience.
You will be able to effectively engage and recruit women with lived experience to act as Peer Mentors for the YWG engaging with the Maia service.
You will be able to develop resources and deliver a training package to Peer Mentors, including sessions on key topics such as safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality, building relationships and maintaining boundaries, active listening and risk and crisis management, as well as specialist workshops focused on the challenges facing YWG, including violence, abuse and exploitation and contact with the criminal justice system.
You will have experience in developing and maintaining links with partner agencies (statutory and non-statutory, including children and young people’s and women and girls’ voluntary services) across the six boroughs, raising the profile of the Maia service and developing specific referral pathways for Volunteer Mentors and the YWG they support where appropriate.
You will be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic abuse, exploitation, mental health and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.

The Role
The Major Gifts team includes managing and growing income from Major Donors, Mid-Value Donors, Trusts and Foundations as well as a small number of organisations. Role Purpose
In this role, you will support Womankind’s Grants, Programmes and Partnerships in the Programmes and Learning team as part of the wider Policy, Programmes & Learning team. This includes planning, administration, implementation and monitoring of Womankind’s grantmaking, programmes and learning activities in line with Womankind’s organisational strategy and sub-strategies.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Programme Manager: Innovation and Partnerships (PMIP). Responsibilities
The Programmes and Grants Officer has four key areas of responsibility:
Project, Programme and Grant Management
- Support project leads with project, programme and grant management, including contracting, payment processing, and monitoring and reviewing reports and budgets;
- Support the development of new projects and programmes, in collaboration with Womankind partners and colleagues;
- Support fund managers with administration, management and coordination of Womankind’s flexible funds, particularly the Movement Strengthening Fund and Strategic Partner Support Grants;
- Support the organisation of in-person and online events and convenings, including managing logistics and travel arrangements.
Administration and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up to date records related to Womankind partners, projects, programmes and grants, including managing and updating the contact database/CRM;

- Support the recruitment and placement of suitable consultants, interns and volunteers in coordination with the PMIP and relevant team members;

This role is hybrid and you’ll be required to be in the office 20% of your contracted hours. The job is based at our UK head office, the Living Planet Centre in Woking, Surrey. The Living Planet Centre is one of the greenest buildings in the UK, and you’ll hot desk among trees and gardens.

We're Transforming Lives for Good, a national Christian Charity that helps churches to bring a hope and a future for struggling children. At an exciting time of growth, we're searching for a Director of Marketing, Communications and Advocacy to oversee and manage all aspects of our marketing and communication strategy. This position requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead a department, different projects and influence across the organisation. As a Director, you will be part of the Core Team and involved in the wider leadership of the charity.
You will be part of a team that campaigns and communicates the work of TLG through a variety of channels and will champion brand awareness, creativity and consistency throughout the charity. You will also have a passion for advocating on behalf of struggling children and developing our influence in this area. As a growing charity, we are focused on becoming a household name in order to make substantial difference for struggling children across the country and we are expectant for the impact the successful candidate will bring to this role.
