About this role:
You will be part of a small team providing person-centred holistic support by addressing a range of personal well-being issues faced by service users referred by the Probation Service. Interventions will focus on addressing the following:
- Support around families and other significant relationships
- Support to reduce social isolation and improve decision-making/lifestyle choices
- Support with emotional wellbeing
- Provide through-the-gates support for those leaving prison.
To secure this exciting opportunity, you must have:
- Experience in managing and supervising staff to successfully deliver services with KPI’s, quality standards and/or targets.
- Experience working in or managing services supporting male offenders including young adults whether in community or prison settings
- Experience working in or managing services supporting challenging people, for example, people who have complex needs, people who are reluctant to discuss their needs, and people who are angry and confused.
- Experience in working in or managing multi-agency partnerships working towards common objectives and outcomes.
- Experience in undertaking file reviews and audits.

The Macmillan Welfare Benefits project is funded by the Macmillan cancer charity and provides Money Advice to people (or their carers/families) who have a cancer diagnosis.
You will have lots of support from an experienced and friendly team and you will be responsible for managing your own caseload and achieving agreed project KPIs.
The enquiry area that you will deal with predominantly is benefits advice and benefits casework. You can call on wider, specialist teams to address more specialist issues.
The role
Reporting to the Benefits and Generalist Group Manager, you will:

Provide a full welfare benefits casework service for people affected by cancer, including disability benefits and other sources of financial support such as grants and help with health and travel costs.

Liaise and negotiate with other statutory and voluntary organisations to progress the clients case and ensure they receive all assistance available.

Maintain detailed case records for the purpose of continuity of case work and information retrieval in line with the requirements of Citizens Advice and Macmillan Cancer Relief.

Refer clients on to colleagues or other agencies as appropriate for specialist help with issues that fall outside the remit of the service, including housing, debt and employment.

Provide advice and information on welfare benefits and other sources of financial help to health and social care professionals working with the client group.

To provide cancer-specific benefits awareness training to colleagues and other health and social care professionals working with the client group.

To support Macmillan/Citizens Advice’s social policy work by providing case studies, and feedback on issues of concern to people affected by cancer.

The role
- Work with people offering supported opportunities for them to improve their quality of life, develop their skills and make decisions about their future.
- Act as individual 'Keyworker' to a group of young people that access support, taking lead responsibility within the organisation for the coordination and delivery of their support.
- Providing general practical and emotional support to people to promote their independence and/or recovery.
- Responding appropriately to challenging behaviour to promote the well-being of people we support and staff
- Providing an effective and responsive supportive service.
- Liaise with referral teams/agencies regarding vacancies and referrals.

- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in a social care field.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Experience of one of the following - At least one year's professional experience of working with vulnerable adults/ Relevant personal experience / At least three years' experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting.

About You
To be our Legal Officer, you will likely have:

Legal experience to degree level or equivalent, preferably in human rights and/or media law, with experience working either in a law firm, media house, or non-profit organisation

Experience of project management or coordination, especially on donor-funded projects is highly desirable

Rufford Small Grants are renowned for being an important milestone in the careers of conservationists and researchers who may have no (or limited) experience in designing and delivering projects. Working closely with the CEO, Grants Manager and Grants Officer, the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer would ensure changes are recorded in updates and project reports.
The Rufford Foundation has been involved with other conservation donors and practitioners looking at the evidence of conservation effectiveness and supporting learning from failure. We fully understand that conservation projects may not succeed as planned and that evaluating small grant project impacts over short timescales (1-3 years) is problematic. The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer would take this into account when reviewing project updates and final evaluation reports.
The ideal candidate will bring previous experience of reviewing (or drafting) donor reports, have excellent analytical and communications skills and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of biodiversity conservation, ideally with some practical knowledge of conservation in countries where the foundation funds projects. Experience of coordinating work with grantees, including review of workplans, deliverables and budgets, would be highly desirable.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
This will be based within community venues and working alongside our REP Case Managers to deliver an employability themed curriculum on a face-to-face basis. relationships with Government, Trade Unions, business groups, Equality and Human Rights
Commission and voluntary sector organisations. Working with staff across the organisation
you will be able to communicate about employment policy effectively to a wide range of

You will have an understanding of the social security system as it relates to pregnant women
and new parents, and an ability to analyse policy developments relating to the Department
for Work and Pensions.
